0
Rise of the Tomb Raider, the sequel to the 2013 action-adventure game Tomb Raider, is here and is only available on Xbox One and Xbox 360 this holiday season. Whereas Tomb Raider’s focus was on building Lara’s character into the strong woman that she would become, Rise of the Tomb Raider returns the series back to the roots of tomb raiding. Featuring high-octane action, stunning environments, a revamped crafting system, and a stealthier Lara—Rise of the Tomb Raider sets out to push the envelope on the Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Review: Code Name S.T.E.A.M. is unique, but is it good?

2
Take the Golden Era of comic books, mix it with XCOM and a little taste of Fire Emblem. Then give it a steampunk influence, a cast of fictional and non-fiction historical characters and top it off with a good sense of humour. This is Code Name S.T.E.A.M. for the Nintendo 3DS. It’s a wacky turn based strategy game from the folks that brought Warioware and Fire Emblem. It’s a departure from the usual titles from Nintendo, which begs the question: Is it good?  Let’s take a look.

Review: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker pays respect to a forgotten genre

1
I’m a puzzle game nerd from a young age. I used to rent all the puzzle games I could get my hands on as a kid, and would spend hours in the summer borrowing my neighbour’s Game Boy puzzle carts. In the last decade or so, there haven’t been a lot of games out there that have interested in me, but Braid gave me hope that there was still good left in the puzzle-adventure genre. Nintendo’s Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is another title hoping to do that too.  Let’s take a look.

Alien: Isolation – Survival Horror in the Blackness of Space

If you ask most sci-fi buffs, or movie lovers ‘what’s the most horrifying creature / threat found in the vastness of space’ most people would say ‘Xenomorph’.  With that eyeless face, and prehensile tongue/ second mouth… not to mention the whole, ‘creepy hand spider putting a chest burster in your tummy’ thing. Feel like running scared, hiding from place to place relentlessly pursued by a horrifying monster from outer space? Survival horror meets the Xenomorph in Alien: Isolation.

Ultra Street Fighter IV – Review

THE massively successful fighting game of most any generation it has existed in, Street Fighter’s current iteration, Street Fighter IV sparked a resurgence in fighting genre interest, unlike anything since the Mortal Kombat guys first started ripping off bits and pieces of one another. Constantly tested and pushed by its community, updates have long been a part of Street Fighter. Ultra this, Arcade Edition that, is it worth it?  In a word, yes.  In two, Oh heck yes. Ultra Street Fighter IV ladies and gentleman, lets fight.
