Portable wireless speakers are taking over home entertainment. It’s just too easy to move them around and play your favourite music, podcasts, or web streaming services anywhere.  One of the big complaints about this kind of speaker has been audio quality, but thanks to audio giant Bose, there’s now an entire line of high end portable Wi-Fi speakers available to choose from.  What’s the difference in the different speakers in their line, and how well do they work? Read the review.

Zoomer Kitty Interactive Robot Cat Review

If your child is lobbying you for their very first pet, you may have concerns about the general welfare of the beast, such as whether or not your child will remember to feed or clean up after it. If this is a worrisome issue for you, you can always opt instead to get them a robotic pet. Take, for example, the very lifelike Zoomer Kitty Interactive Robotic Cat. There are no messes to clean up, and there’s no need to feed her, yet she behaves much like a real live cat. She plays, she purrs, and she’s your child’s fine feline friend. Fender Shootout! The Squier Bullet Stratocaster vs. Squier Vintage Modified 70s...

Almost all major guitar manufacturers now carry at least two brands of guitar under their umbrella. You have the one “name” brand that is the premiere flagship brand and then a less expensive brand that makes more affordable versions of the classics. Gibson Guitars has the Epiphone brand, ESP has LTD, and Fender has Squier. And while these guitars are more affordable than their famous brothers, that doesn’t mean that they don’t play and sound great, especially considering their price points. This blog will look at two Squier Stratocasters and discuss playability, sound, and value.

Review: Sony FDR-AX33 4K HandyCam Camcorder

If you have a 4K TV you have a few options out there for getting the most out of your display … but if you’re like me there’s nothing more satisfying than creating your own content. Whether you’re shooting beautiful nature vistas, capturing exciting downtown life, or creating memories with friends and family at events that you won’t forget, shooting your own video in 4k is pretty awesome—and it’s more accessible than ever. Coming in at a reasonable price and packing a powerful 4k punch, the Sony FDR-AX33 Handycam is the portable video camera that’s makes it possible.  I had a chance to take it out for a spin: here’s how that turned out.

Review: Samsung 65” 4K Ultra HD Curved Tizen Smart TV (JU6800)

I had the luxury of testing out this new Samsung Ultra High Definition 65” TV at home. I had it for several weeks so was able to run it through its paces to provide a detailed review. This set is a brand new model exclusive to Best Buy. I have a couple of excellent HD plasma TVs at home but don’t own a 4K set yet, so I was looking forward to testing it out to see how it compares. This exclusive TV is definitely a step up with lots of features and an excellent picture.

Insignia 8-inch Windows 8 tablet review: proof inexpensive tablets keep getting...

1
A few years ago, you couldn’t have paid me to switch to a tablet that cost less than $150. However, one of the great things about technology is the trickle down effect and that has changed the tablet game. Just like you can now buy an entry level car with tech that used to be exclusive to premium vehicles–like anti-lock brakes or a Bluetooth capable sound system—many entry level tablets now offer features that used to set the more expensive models apart. I just wrapped up a few days using the Insignia 8-inch Windows 8 tablet and came away impressed. This device is proof that an entry level tablet is more than capable of filling many peoples’ casual tablet needs without spending a fortune.

Review: Sony Blu-ray Disc™ Players

0
I have a confession to make. I don’t own a Blu-ray disc player. In fact, I don’t think I’ve even powered on my DVD player in well over two years. It’s not that I don’t love movies. It’s just that I’ve become far too reliant on good ol’ Netflix and its overabundance of chick flicks and ocean-related documentaries to bother with anything else. Needless to say, I was a little concerned when I was sent two new Sony Blu-ray Disc players to review. Was I the right person for the job? I don’t even own a Blu-ray disc! Turns out I had no reason to worry. It also turns out that I want one of these little guys for myself.
