Best Buy surprises shoppers with holiday cheer

What would you do if someone in a Best Buy blue shirt approached you in a mall and asked you about gifts you’ve received in the past, and gifts you can only dream about receiving. That is exactly what happened recently for some shoppers at Coquitlam Centre Mall in British Columbia. They shared holiday memories and holiday hopes with TV personality Fiona Forbes. In return they got much more than they could have imagined: Best Buy surprised them with amazing gifts! Read on to see how you too can have some of your Christmas dreams come true by winning one of four $1000 gift certificates in our #BestgiftsBestBuy contest.

What is the weirdest gift you ever received

You never know when something wonderful will happen. Sometimes you just have to be open to try something different. This was the situation a couple weeks ago at Coquitlam Centre. A blue shirt Best Buy employee would approach shoppers and ask them if they would be willing to share some holiday memories on camera for a promotional video. If they agreed, they were taken into a room set up next to the Best Buy store entrance to meet Fiona Forbes. Fiona asked them questions about the holidays including what was the weirdest gift they had ever received.

Sometimes the seemingly simplest questions are the hardest to answer. For example, I have no idea what the weirdest gift was that I received. Watch the video at the top of this article for the often funny answers that some shoppers had.

What would be on the top of your list from Best Buy

I think this is a much easier question for just about everyone to answer. Think about it! Best Buy sells almost everything. Most of the shoppers answered with a type of tech, of course. But one person asked for a KitchenAid mixer (which she received), and another asked for a guitar (he received a Gibson electric guitar—very nice!).

Best Buy most likely has something that is one your wish list. Enter this contest and you might win a $1000 Best Buy gift certificate and make that wish come true.

HOW TO ENTER

Entering is easy but you can only enter once, either on Twitter or Instagram. That’s right, unlike most contests that I mention on the blog, you need to enter using social media. On Twitter include the hashtag #BestGiftsBestBuy and tag @BestBuyCanada and your answer to the question “What gift available at Best Buy would you like to give someone this holiday season?” Or enter on Instagram by posting a photo or video and use the hashtag #BestGiftsBestBuy and tag @BestBuyCanada in the caption and your answer to the question, “What gift available at Best Buy would you like to give someone this holiday season?” There is also a mail in option for those not on either forms of social media. WHAT YOU CAN WIN

At the end of the contest, Best Buy will select 4 winners from all eligible entries. Each winner will receive a $1000 Best Buy Gift Card.

This contest runs from December 12th until December 23rd.

Remember, you can only enter using Twitter, Instagram, or regular mail. Leaving a comment on this blog post will not count as a valid entry. However, we are running other contests on the blog that you can enter (contests in progress).
