Whirlpool is having a busy week at CES 2019. Not only have they offered up a brand new smart front-load washer and dryer, they’ve also unveiled multiple WLabs smart kitchen appliances designed to make your cooking and baking smarter.
Whirlpool smart front-load washer and dryer
No one likes to do laundry, but having a great washer and dryer really does help decrease the number of loads you have to do every week. The recently unveiled Whirlpool smart front-load washer and dryer has some amazing smart features designed to make your life and your laundry pile much easier to take on.
Do you forget to add soap? The Whirlpool smart front-load washer and dryer has a Load & Go dispenser. That dispenser will auto-distribute your laundry detergent, so you’ll never have to worry about forgetting to add it in.
Both washer and dryer will have a Touchscreen display you can use to select cycles and control your laundry pair. Even better, you’ll also be able to use voice commands to access your washing machine and dryer via your favourite Google Assistant and Alexa.
Whirlpool’s smart laundry pairs will also soon work with Wear OS by Google. That means you’ll be able to use more natural voice commands to check in with your washing machine and dryer, and you’ll be able to use a Wear OS compatible app on your smart watch or phone to issue commands to your washer and dryer.
WLabs Smart Countertop Oven
WLabs is a Whirlpool brand that’s bringing out some really amazing smart kitchen appliances like the WLabs Smart Countertop Oven. Debuting at CES 2019, it sits on your kitchen counter and cooks your food in a smarter way.
It has a live video feed you can use to check in and see how you’re dish is doing. There are different built-in algorithms for all types of foods, and they direct the oven to pre-heat and set the optimal temperature for each dish.
The oven itself will monitor its internal temperature so your food is cooked perfectly, and it also works with Google Assistant and Alexa so you can use voice commands.
The Whirlpool Connected Hub Wall Oven with Augmented Reality
This reveal is only in the prototype stages and isn’t ready to be released, but it’s hard not to get excited about the Whirlpool Connected Hub Wall Oven. Also by WLabs, this oven looks just like any other oven with a glass door. The difference? That glass door is actually a 27-inch LCD touchscreen with augmented reality, and it can perform so many amazing tasks.
Want to find recipe ideas? Just tap the screen and open the Yummly app. You’ll get ideas as well as instructions on how to make your favourite dish, and it can even teach you time management so each dish you’re making finishes at the same time.
You’ll be able to tap to see which oven settings are best for each dish, and you can use the internal vision with extreme zoom to check in on your food without opening the door.
Whirlpool really knocked it out of the park with these WLabs appliances. I’m looking forward to seeing what else is unveiled at CES 2019, but in the meantime check out everything Whirlpool has to offer on Best Buy right now.
