Hello-September copy.jpgSeptember: a month that conjures up so many emotions for so many people. I know my kids are looking at the calendar with a slight sense of dread as the new school year approaches, but people who are gearing up for back to University or College are probably feeling really excited right now. It’s definitely a time of the year when one chapter closes and a new one begins, and that’s why there is no better time to take a look and see what’s on the shelves of Best Buy for September!

Some people swear by summer for getting in shape, but because summer is so busy with the kids out of school, I’ve always been one of those people who begin a new fitness program in September. I’ve got more time to dedicate to it, and when I make it part of my daily routine sans children, I’m less likely to quit halfway through.

To prepare for exercising in the winter months, you can bring your fitness routine inside with the ProForm Elliptical 6.0. New to Best Buy this month, the ProForm Elliptical makes exercise fun by giving you a high tech fitness option right in your home. You can work out with 32 workout apps that were created by a person trainer, and travel the world while you workout using iFit, right on the elliptical.

I love patio season in the summer, but it’s even better in the fall when you can have a fire pit to keep you warm when there is a slight chill in the air. When the fire bans have been lifted, I spend more time on my patio in the fall than I do in the summer, so even though it’s almost September I’m still looking to add new décor to my deck. Once I saw the PLAYBULB by MIPOW, I knew I had to bring this one home.

The PLAYBULB is a connected smart candle, and it can change into any colour combination you’d like. You can put it on your table for a comforting glow or to light up any outdoor or indoor space, plus because it’s not an actual candle, you can even use it as a night light.

The PLAYBULB connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth, and you can control one candle or connect several candles together. There’s also an embedded lavender chip so you can enjoy the same scent as a scented candle, and you can actually blow your PLAYBULB out just like you would a candle.

My kids love blowing out my tea lights all the time, so being able to turn this one on and off with my phone and not having to constantly light it is a win-win for me. I also love how versatile this light is, because although you might like it outside, you can just bring it in and enjoy it all winter.

Asus Transformer BookASUS-Transformer.jpg

Have you heard of 2-in-1 laptops yet? If you take a look online and do a little research, you’ll see that top tech websites are predicting 2-in-1s will be the fastest growing category of computers within the next year.

A 2-in-1 laptop like the 12.5” ASUS Transformer Book is lightweight and powerful with an 800MHz Intel Core M-5Y10 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB storage. On it’s own it’s a versatile, easy-to-transport laptop, but when you want to be truly mobile, just detach the keyboard from the touchscreen display and you instantly have a take-everywhere tablet.

It’s an amazing option for students heading back to school, because you won’t have to choose between laptop or tablet. You get the best of both worlds with the ASUS Transformer Book, and with Windows 10 available, your computing experience will be fast, fun, and easy.

Homestar Computer Desk

I find September is the best time of the year to redecorate and move furniture around, and one of the first places I start in September is my office area. To stay organized for an entire winter, I really rely on having a good desk with the right amount of space for my laptop, printer, or files, and the Homestar Computer Desk fits the bill.

It’s got a streamlined design and a lot of storage space. If you need a back to school desk for homework or something to use to organize your office, you might want to check this one out.

It’s hard to get used to being back in school, and that’s why I always find fun things for the kids to do after school for the first few weeks. It helps ease them into the workload and take away some of the stress. Although September is one of those months when most of Canada still experiences good weather, you’re still going to have to plan some rainy day activities occasionally, and that’s where Crayola Colour Alive comes in.

Available in Minions, Mythical Creatures, Barbie, Enchanted Forest, Monster High and Skylanders, Crayola Colour Alive works with an app to make your kid’s masterpieces come alive. You can add special effects or make your pictures 4D.

Take a look at Lindsey’s review of Crayola Colour Alive to see everything it can do. It’s definitely at the top of my list to stockpile for the chilly winter months.

skylanders.jpgSkylanders SuperChargers

It won’t be available until September 20th, but the latest installment of the Skylanders game series is going to be on the your kid’s list for the fall. Skylanders SuperChargers is back and this time the original characters are joined by new vehicles.

Paul was on hand to review the game recently and he was told there would be 8 SuperCharger Skylanders that are versions of past Skylanders and 12 all-new Skylanders. Each Skylander will be paired with their own vehicle for fun game-play, and all of your previous Skylanders will be compatible with SuperChargers and can even ride in the vehicles.

No matter how you feel about September being here, there are so many cool products hitting the shelves of Best Buy that’s it’s hard to not look forward to fall. Check them out and see which one is your favourite back-to-fall product.
