E3 2019 gaming contest

Finally after months of waiting, the event that our gaming customers have been waiting for is here: E3 week! Every year during E3 there are great announcements of new games, new features in games you love, and so much more. Check out our E3 hub for great deals from Best Buy, and great information from the show. Best Buy’s fantastic E3 2019 Gaming offers will be live as of June 7th.

Best Buy will be sending bloggers Jon Scarr and Mélanie Boutin-Chartier to Los Angeles to report on all of the announcements, and capture images and video from the press events (that begin on the weekend prior to the actual show) and from the showroom floor during the event from June 11 to 13th. E3 is your source for the most gaming announcements every year

What gaming announcement are you most excited about this year? Perhaps it’s a new version of a game from your childhood. Alternatively, it may be a recently released game that was demoed at last year’s show. This may be the year when you discover something new that quickly becomes a new favourite. With the rapidly changing gaming landscape thanks to new streaming options you may have recently changed where and when you play games.

Perhaps you love a particular genre. Pretty much every genre will see something new announced this year. Whether you love adventure, survival, racing, sports or any other gaming category, expect lots of news to interest you during E3.

Entering this contest is really easy, but you can only enter once. In a comment beneath this article, tell us what gaming announcement has you most excited in 2019 and why. Include in your comment the manufacturer who made the announcement, the title of the gaming item, and why this announcement is so important to you. Is it a game, a console, or something else? Be specific and clear.

At the end of the contest, we will randomly select seven winners from all eligible entries. Each winner will randomly be assigned one of the seven prize packages.

  2. I am very excited that Nintendo has announced the release of Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield games for the Nintendo Switch. My nephews are huge Pokemon fans, and I think we’ll have fun playing these games together.

  12. I am most excited for Death Stranded on PS4 by Kojima and Sony. It’s important to have unique games that push the industry into new directions. I also love the choice of actors used in the game.

    The game looks very intriguing and I can’t wait to play it!!!

  13. I am excited about Death Stranding game for PS4 console. This game is from legendary developer Hideo Kojima who is famous for Metal Gear series. Cant wait to play this game!

  14. I’m very excited for Borderlands 3. Me and my younger brother played the second one for hours back in the day. So man fond memories and jokes from that game that we still bring up years later.

  15. I am super excited and looking forward for next gen Xbox console announcement by Microsoft. I own Xbox One X and I love it and I can only imagine what next generation would bring in terms a graphic capability for gaming. I plan to buy new Xbox console on day one. Cheering for team Microsoft.

  16. I am most excited about Nintendo’s announcement for the Marvel alliance 3: the black order; this is important because who doesn’t like Marvel ?! And i think this will be one of the best co-op game for the switch! I have been waiting for a game like this for a long time.

  17. My son gets excited every time there is a new addition to Fortnite by Epic Games. His goal is to be a youtuber/gamer and he is very good at it……he has already started streaming live at the age of 12 and has a few followers, with mom watching carefully on the sidelines.

  19. i cant wait for Pokémon sword and shield by Nintendo. i have triplet 8 year olds that love the series, watch the shows and movies. looks like something i can get into with them! going to be a great year for gaming!

  20. Personally, I’m excited for the possibility of some next Gen Xbox information. With Sony not attending I almost imagine Microsoft will use this time to either tease, or drop some serious information. Can’t wait!

  22. I am SUPER exited for anymore halo infinite news. I do not own a xbox myself so I am only able to play halo at friends houses. My friend introduced me to halo back in 2013 and I have loved the series ever since. Halo infinite was one of the biggest news drops of E32018 and I’m sure anymore news on the game will cause fans to go through the roof

  24. Excited for Watch Dogs 3 London. Dedsec and SF setting in number two was great and excited to see where Ubi takes the series.

  27. There are so many options to choose from but I’m most excited for the Final Fantasy 7 remake but Borderlands 3 a close second.

  28. I am most looking forward to Gear Box’s Borderlands 3 announcement. My friends and I have followed since the first installment and as a four-man team we dominated the second Borderlands. To have a game that can reignite our passion for multiplayer will be the highlight of the year.

  29. I’ll be honest, I am very excited for SpongeBob SquarePants Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated. I grew up in the PSone/PS2 era and Nickelodeon games were a big part of my childhood. All we get now is FPS games with little to no story and no new gameplay elements, so remasters like Spyro, Medievil, and SpongeBob feel like a much needed breath of fresh air. I really hope they announce The Last Airbender games soon!
    Other than that, I am excited for Pokemon, Death Stranding and Ghost of Tsushima.

  30. Looking forward to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order – upcoming single-player action-adventure video game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts for PS4. Hoping for assassin’s creed gameplay in the Star wars universe.

  32. With releases of official updates regarding hardware components from vendors like AMD, I’m very much looking forward to Sony announcing or at least teasing their next console. There are certainly still many new and exciting titles to be released for PS4 but it would be what I’m looking out for the most for E3.

  33. I am excited about the Call of Duty Modern Warfare because I played Call of Duty growing up so I’m really excited about a new release of my favourite game. If I actually win I would want a PlayStation 4 and a Nintendo switch.

  34. For E3 this year, I’m really excited to learn about the new next-gen Microsoft console as well as Gears of War 5. I’ve been a fan of Gears for as long as i can remember and I can’t wait to see where the story goes next.

  35. I am excited for pokemon sword and shield. I grew up playing pokemon games and I’m excited to see what they can do with the very powerful Nintendo Switch hardware. Gamefreak I’d an amazing developer and I can’t wait to see how they pull this off. Nintendo and gamefreak have been partners and made the pokemon company.

  36. I am most excited for Nintendo’s Pokemon sword and shield as well as Animal crossing. I used to play these games as a kid and now I’m older and the switch has really brought back a lot of nostalgia for me!

  37. I can’t wait to get more details about Final Fantasy VII remake from Square Enix!
    Growing up playing Final Fantasy VII, the storytelling, the emotions, the heartbreak, all of that is like a major part of my childhood.
    And after more than 20 years, I can’t wait to be a kid again playing the game that defined the genre in a stunning new look.

  38. Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening from Nintendo for the Switch is what I’m stoked for. I own every iteration of the game so far and bought a super game boy to play it on the big screen as a kid. Recently beat the game while literally on a beach on an island (on vacation in the Dominican) on my 2DS with the digital version (during breaks from swimming). Can’t wait to see what surprises the switch version has.

  39. I can’t wait to see more of Death Stranding. Hideo Kojima always makes fun, interesting and kind of messed up games. I’ve watched the trailers, read articles about his first independent game and just want to see more. The concept is amazing – that the world of the dead is bleeding over into ours. It feels new and timely, because so many titles are sequels these days. Which is fine when they’re good (looking at you Ubisoft) , but I really enjoy it when developers create brand new worlds and stories. Especially when they’re interesting, grown up stories that I can come back to time and again.

  40. The gaming announcement that has me most excited in 2019 is Pikmin 4 because I really enjoyed playing the previous Pikmin games on the older Nintendo consoles. This was announced by Nintendo chief creative Shigeru Miyamoto who told Eurogamer that the game is in development with no confirmed release date – but is definitely worth waiting for!

  42. Nintendo’s announcement for the remake of the video game The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening has me most excited after it was announced for Nintendo Switch by Nintendo during a recent Nintendo Direct because I loved the original and I find the new art style charming.

  43. I am truly excited for the Microsoft presentation. Gears of War 5, Halo Infinite, and others have me captivated and anticipating the new looks at the environments and gameplay. While it is disappointing that Sony will not be there, I am still looking forward to viewing and reading about Death Stranding and Ghost of Tsushima.

  44. I’m looking forward to the new Pokemon games for Nintendo Switch. Sword and Shield are the first core Pokemon games that have me excited since the the original Red, Blue, and Yellow.

  46. I am most excited for The Pokémon Company’s Pokémon Sword and Shield in conjunction with Nintendo. Nintendo has been the console I grew up on. From the Super Mario series 1-3 to Duck Hunt and some pool game that my dad always beat us on haha. I lived through the Pokémon craze and there is a lot of memories I have with friends playing those games. I would love to win the Nintendo prize pack to continue this tradition on with my son.

  48. I am really excited for Pokemon Sword and Shield from Nintendo ever since the June 5th which showcased new Pokemon and wild areas, is what I have been dreaming about. Being able to walk around the land with a full 360 degree camera searching for Pokemon far and wide. As well as conformation on the legionaries (who are 10 out of 10, best Doggos) I’ve also been a little bit out of Pokemon for a while not playing a lot of Let’s go, or even sun and moon. But the newest trailers has me hyped I never felt in a long time for a Pokemon. I can’t wait to see what Game freak and Nintendo reveal next at E3 or in a separate direct.

  49. I am BEYOND excited for Borderlands 3, which was revealed by Gearbox at Pax East. I have been anticipating this game for years and now that it’s finally announced I can’t wait for September to play it! My wife and I started playing this series together when we first met and have played it every year since off and on. This game is a big part of my life, itll be an amazing time for my wife and I to have fun with each other and play together. WOOOOO!!!

  50. I am excited about the games form UBISOFT. The games like Assassins creed series makes me tick. I want to get my hands on Beyond Good and Evil. I prefer playing on PC but I don’t mind PS4 cos of exclusive games like Spider-man. I am also excited about the new Marvel Avengers game that was rumored to launch. The other studio I am looking forward to is Rockstar games. I hope they release the RDR to PC
