All-new single player story experience

Star Wars: Squadrons features an all-new story that is set during the final days of the Galactic Empire and the rise of the New Republic after the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. The story brings to life the events following the Battle of Endor when the Rebel Alliance successfully destroyed the Death Star II.

The story is unique in that you assume the roles of two pilots, one serving in the New Republic’s Vanguard Squadron, and the other that fights for the Galactic Empire’s Titan Squadron. While not much else is known right now, we do know that there will be some cameo appearances from familiar faces in the Star Wars galaxy.

5v5 multiplayer space battles

In addition to an all-new and original single player story, Star Wars: Squadrons will feature a 5v5 multiplayer mode. You’ll be able to step into iconic starfighters from both Imperial and New Republic fleets. Before heading out for battle, players will plan out their attacks in a briefing room.

Your goal is simple, take out your enemy’s flagship in Fleet Battles. However, in order to succeed, you’ll need to work with your teammates to take out as many of your opponents as possible. So far, EA has revealed that these Fleet Battles will span across known and never before seen locations including the shattered moon of Galitan and the gas giant of Yavin Prime.

Fans will be happy to know that there will be an abundance of gameplay and cosmetic customization options that are earned in game through gameplay. Furthermore, as you make your way up the ranks as a pilot, you’ll earn additional engines, weapons, shields, and hulls that will enhance the performance of your starfighter.
