It’s always exciting when Samsung launches its new TVs and sound bars. This year is no exception, and there are several new Samsung OLED, 8K TVs, 4K TVs, and new sound bars you can bring home right now. New Samsung TVs for 2024
Samsung just launched four new TV models (with more to come later!). Each has its own unique features, and all have Samsung’s spectacular picture and sound quality built-in.
Samsung Neo QLED 8K
Samsung is launching two Neo QLED 8K TVs this year—the Samsung QN900 and the Samsung QN800. The Samsung QN900 has the powerful NQ8 AI Gen3 processor to enhance everything you watch. It has tech like Quantum Matrix Technology Pro, Neo Quantum HDR 8K Pro, and Ultimate 8K Dimming Pro to provide you with the most realistic picture possible. It also has a 4K/120Hz native refresh rate for gaming and can run 4K/240Hz when you turn on motion enhancement. With an anti-glare screen and 6.4.2 CH 90W speaker on board, every movie or gaming session will be unbelievable.
The Samsung QN800 includes many of the same features but has the NQ8 AI Gen2 processor and 256 AI neural networks instead of the NQ8 AI Gen3. It can upscale what you are watching to as close to 8K as possible, and it shares the same great features including 4K/120Hz native refresh rate for gaming.
Samsung OLED TVs
I’ve reviewed quite a few Samsung TVs and trust me when I say the Samsung QD-OLED is my favourite model of all time. It pairs a layer of quantum dots on an OLED backlight to give you a brighter TV with the best contrast possible. The latest Samsung QD-OLED TVs for 2024 are the S95D and the S90D. The Samsung S95D is 20% brighter than last year’s model, so it can reach 1600 nits of peak brightness. It also has an anti-glare screen and Ultra Viewing Angle so you can still enjoy spectacular picture quality when viewing from an angle, whether it’s to the right or left.
The Samsung S90D is also a QD-OLED TV with superior brightness and contrast, and it can achieve those true, deep blacks that make dark games and movies so realistic. While the S95D is brighter and has an anti-glare screen, the S90D shares features like 4K/144Hz refresh rates, support for FreeSync, and the new Game Bar version with AI Auto Mode. AI Auto Mode will automatically adjust both your picture and sound settings for the specific game you are playing.
Samsung Neo QLED 4K
There are three Neo QLED 4K TVs for 2024—the Samsung Neo QLED QN95D, QN90D, and the QN85D. Samsung Neo QLED TVs use a Quantum Mini-LED backlight for the brightest picture and can upscale whatever you watch to as close to 4K as possible thanks to the NQ4 AI Gen2 AI-powered 4K processor. Plus, they boast great features like Depth Enhancer Pro and Neo Quantum HDR+ to enhance colour and brighten up dark shadows. With 4K resolution, the Samsung Neo QLED TVs are the perfect choice for gamers. Both the QN95D and QN90D have 4K/144Hz refresh rates when using Motion Xcelerator.
Samsung The Frame for 2024
The Frame is a low profile TV designed to be flush mounted to your wall. Once in place, you can add an option wood or metal frame and you’ll enjoy a TV that looks like a piece of art. The new Samsung The Frame for 2024 is a 4K QLED TV with an Anti-Reflection Matte display to better showcase your Art Gallery images. With Art Mode Enhancer your TV uses sensors to detect your space and will turn the screen on when you walk by. Watching TV or movies on the new Samsung The Frame is a revelation, and it uses the Samsung Quantum Processor 4K to upscale your content to as close to 4K as possible. It also has 120Hz refresh rate for smooth motion and a wide viewing angle.
New Samsung sound bars for 2024
The new Samsung sound bars for 2024 include the Q Series, S Series, and the innovative new Samsung Music Frame.
Samsung Q Series
Samsung is launching the Q990D, Q800D, and the Q600D sound bars. These sound bars are the perfect complement to Samsung TVs. All but the Q600D connect without HDMI cables, and the Q Series offers the world’s first Dolby Atmos surround sound that can connect wirelessly via Wi-Fi.
The Q990D is an 11.1.4 channel sound bar with Dolby Atmos/DTS:X, the Q800D is a 5.1.2 channel, and the Q600D is wireless surround sound compatible. The Q990D has upfiring rear speakers for a 3D surround sound experience, and all but the Q600D include a subwoofer.
Samsung S Series for 2024
New Samsung S Series sound bars include the S800D, S801D, S700D, S60D, S61D, and S50B. The S800D and S801D are 3.1.2 channel sounds bars that offer you Dolby Atmos surround sound and are wireless surround sound compatible so you can upgrade if you’d like to have your TV space free of HDMI cables. They support Dolby Atmos/DTS Virtual: X, and all but the S50B have great features like built-in voice assistant.
Samsung Music Frame
One of the most innovative devices released by Samsung at CES 2024, the Samsung Music Frame pairs with the Samsung The Frame TV to enhance your audio. It has a 3-way speaker with a wide sweet spot to fully envelop you in 3D surround sound. Tested in Samsung Audio Lab by sound experts, the Music Frame has Dolby Atmos and supports both Wi-Fi & Bluetooth.
