TCL’s plans for 2024 follow the theme of “bigger, better, and beyond.” At their CES 2024 keynote they shared their goal to make 5G more accessible to everyone. In that spirit they announced their biggest Mini-LED Quantum Dot TV, new tablets, and new smartphones. Here’s a quick recap of what was announced at the TCL keynote.
TCL partners with the NFL
If you’re a football fan, one of the highlights of the keynote was the announcement of the partnership between TCL and the NFL. They are creating a marketing plan to reach out to fans and are working together to create the best viewing experience for everyone using TCL’s big screen technology.
NXTPAPER Tablets
TCL has always designed user friendly devices with accessible features. The new NXTPAPER tablets are no exception. The tech built into the tablets is TCL NXTPAPER 3.0, an advanced display technology that creates the most natural viewing experience possible. It can reduce eye strain and filter out up to 61% of blue light.
TCL NXTPAPER 3.0 is used in TCL tablets including the NXTPAPER 14 Pro and TAB 10 NXTPAPER 5G. The 14 Pro has NXTPAPER 3.0 built in for comfortable viewing, and it also has a 3-in-1 VersaView user interface that lets you swap between tablet and a paper-like display in e-reader mode. The TAB 10 NXTPAPER 5G tablet has 5G connectivity for speedy web surfing, NXTPAPER 3.0 for comfortable viewing, and comes in a 10-inch size that’s perfect for carrying in a backpack or bag.
TCL smartphones for 2024
TCL announced their new line of 50 series smartphones and it looks like there is model for every type of user. They have NXTPAPER technology, some models have dual speakers and large screens, and they all have speedy 5G on board.
- TCL 50 XL 5G is a 6.8″ FHD+ (higher than full definition) display with 120Hz refresh rate, dual speakers with DTS sound, 8GB of expandable RAM
- 50 XE 5G has a 6.6″ HD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate, dual speakers, a 50MP triple camera, 8GB of expandable RAM
- 50 LE has a 6.6″ HD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate, dual speakers, a 13MP hybrid camera, and 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM
There are many more smartphones from TCL, but one that deserves a mention is the 40 NXTPAPER smartphone. It won the CES 2024 Innovation Award for Mobile Devices thanks to its 6.6″ display with 90Hz refresh rate, 256GB memory, 6+6GB expandable RAM, and 50MP AI Triple Camera.
115-inch Mini-LED Quantum Dot TV
One of the most exciting announcements at the keynote was the introduction of a massive Mini-LED TV. Part of the QM8 line of TVs, the 115QM89 is a whopping 115 inches and has a high zone Mini-LED backlight with QLED technology to boost colour and brightness. While the size is incredible, the audio will be fantastic too. It has a 6.2.2 channel speaker system on board, 20,000 dimming zones, and both audio and video are powered by TCL’s AIPQ ULTRA processor.
TCL S and Q Class Soundbars
TCL has been in the sound bar market for a few years now, and this year they are introducing new S and Q class sound bars. One of the most exciting features on the sound bars is how they can connect wirelessly to rear speakers. The new S55H is a 2.1 Channel Dolby Atmos soundbar and the TCL Q85H is a 7.1.4 Channel Dolby Atmos sound. With 7 speakers, 1 subwoofer, and 4 upfiring speakers, the sound quality on the TCL Q85H will be fantastic.
