It offers premium 8K resolution viewing and it’s powered by Quatum Dot Display Technology and Local Dimming Technology, meaning the TVs have richer colour and precise backlighting control which can deliver better contrast, and an ultra-real picture quality.
- Key features of TCL’s new 8K TV:
- 8K upscaling
- Quantum dot display technology
- Local dimming technology
- Dolby Vision®& Dolby Atmos
- Onkyo sound bar
- Built-in camera

The company was also touting what it’s calling the World’s First Mini-LED TV. Vidrian™ Mini-LED Technology backlighting uses thin film transistors embedded directly into the glass. This “fusion of light and glass” as TCL calls it, minimizes the filters between the backlight and LCD, allowing this Mini-LED technology to “produce unrestrained illumination for powerfully bright and precise contrast as well as greater clarity”. When it comes to contrast, with over 25,000 Mini-LEDs, ‘Quantum Contrast powered by Vidrian Mini-LED technology’ is said to create smoother and more even light distribution for enhanced uniformity throughout the picture.

That same variable refresh rate technology is also coming to some 2020 high-performance TVs later this year, so stay tuned.
