What is the best thing about Game of Thrones?  The fantastic story lines, the action, the costumes, the characters … perhaps it’s the special effects – the dragons!  There is so much to enjoy in the groundbreaking HBO television series. It’s no wonder the show has won many awards, and has a huge fan base.  In fact, in 2011 BBC news said the fan phenomenon attached to the show was unlike anything seen before toward a popular television series. And it has grown larger and more intense with each season since.  Fans have embraced the show by creating their own fiction related to the show, organizing Game of Thrones events and parties and even naming their children after Game of Thrones characters.  The show has become part of our culture.

Best Buy is giving Game of Thrones fans a chance to meet one of the stars of the show at a Best Buy store in Vancouver BC Canada this weekend.

Head down to Best Buy on Cambie Street on Saturday, August 16th between 4-6pm for a meet & greet with Sibel Kekilli who plays Shae.

Show how much you love the show – dress up as one of the characters. This will be a great opportunity to break out that medieval headdress and chainmail that have been gathering dust in your closet.

We’re expecting a big turnout of fans, so come early to guarantee your spot in line and be there for a chance to win great prizes from HBO!

Also, we’re offering $10 off Game of Thrones Season 4 pre-order to the first 500 who line up to meet Shae. See in-store for details.

Follow us on Facebook and Twitter all week for additional Game of Thrones updates and giveaways!

You can also post your questions about this event, and about the show on our community forum.   If you haven’t started watching Game of Thrones yet, we think it’s about time you do! Check out our collection of all the previous seasons!
