DJI drones are versatile for photography and really fun to fly. Their newest model, the DJI Mavic Air 2, can film in 4K at 60 frames per second! That is seriously amazing. It can reach amazing heights, speeds, and distances, so it’s much more than a toy. However, when used responsibly it elevates your senses—you’ll feel like you’re a bird in the sky! Read more about the newest drone in the DJI family, then enter for a chance to win the demo model that we had reviewed on the blog.
What can you do with a drone
A drone is more than just a flying camera. It does fly; and it has a camera. But fly a drone and suddenly you realize this is a very unique experience. First there is the feeling of lift-off—you’ll never forget that surge of excitement. Remember you are in control, elevating, tilting, drifting to the left and right. There is a learning curve, but it’s not steep; quickly you adjust your perspective to react appropriately to capture the bird’s eye view of your surroundings. If you are able to use it near your home, you’ll will gain a new appreciation for the world around you. For me, rising about ten metres above my house allowed me to capture a view of several gulf islands including Saltspring and Pender.
DJI packs their drones with amazing features
With the new DJI Mavic Air 2, you will be able to do so much more than you might think from the moment you turn it on. It is so easy to use. We sent the prize for this contest to Shelly to test it out and she was amazed that she instantly was able to capture smooth, professional looking videos, right out of the box. Watch her video to see some of the images of her farm taken with the drone.
Shelly shows what’s included with the drone, how to assemble the drone, and offers some tips on how to fly it. She also speaks to many of the unique features that enable you to do some really interesting things with simple menu selections. I love the Helix Quickshot function!
The Mavic Air 2 has many features to help you get the most from flying it. It can even help you find safe flying areas near your home. This is very important; you will want to be sure about what areas near you allow drones and if there are maximum height restrictions too. You should read Shelly’s article for a more in-depth descripton of some of the key features that she tested. Be sure to return to this page to learn what you need to do to enter our contest.

Good Luck.
I’m interested in the upgraded camera.
I really would like to try the Helix Quickshot function and the auto home feature!!
Auto follow!
The long lasting battery life is amazing. I still remember the days when people had to bring several batteries with them to get the shots they needed. The automatic takeoff is also very nice!
I love that it can even help to find safe flying areas ! I’d love to try this but am so nervous about breaking laws I don’t know about!
The auto take-off feature sounds great!
It seems to be an all around good drone for both video and flight capabilities. Would love to get my hands one one to test out
I am eager to try the Helix Quickshot function.
I am eager to try the built in obstacle avoidance feature.
Aside from the 34 min battery life, the fact that t films in 4k for a really long time is enough for me. I really want to get into Aerial videography, and I believe this drone will help jump start a new passion.
Auto follow
I’m eager to try out the auto-take off feature!
the auto takeoff
It can film in 4K at 60 frames per second, so greaT for video.
Auto follow and stabilization.
The Scene Recognition looks like we’d be able to photograph sunsets like never before! Totally going to check that out.
Provides the controller a warning of when the battery/power source is low. Good to have this warning especially when the device is in the air.
Video quality, including three-axis gimbal with stabilization, would be the most important feature.
The auto take off feature is awesome!
I have an idea for a film about a guest ranch in the interior of British Columbia. Spectacular spot on a ridge looking down on the Thompson River. There are many time and places where a drone would be the best, indeed the only way to convey the sweeping landscape and the feeling of riding a horse across the high plains desert.
I’ve been considering this drone for the task. The combination of range, quality, and obstacle avoidance, with the small size make this probably the best tool for the job.
The auto-take off
I really like many of the features. I don’t know which one I would say is the Best Buy but I’d say it’s a close call between auto return to home and the lock on to follow a subject. I look forward to trying this. It will my first drone.
Love the 4k 60fps. Professional looking videos from a really cool perspective. Amazing!
10km distance is amazing – I had no idea.
I am eager to try the auto-take off.
I can’t wait to test out the “auto” features (follow, take-off, land) as well as use this drone to capture the Atlantic Canadian coastline with the 10km horizontal distance!
Wow, this unit looks so cool thanks for chance to winn
The auto follow.
The auto-take off sounds so cool!
Impressive! We had a drone in the past. The first one ended up on a neighbour’s roof that we couldn’t retrieve (a tough lesson to learn how not to fly when it’s windy!). Now that summer is here and my teens are home with no plans thanks to the pandemic, they’ve been finding more creative outlets –this would be great in creating footage from the grandparents’ place outside of the city. Oh, the bird’s eye view of sweeping landscape we know would be epic for making videos to show this moment in history. The auto-follow features sounds ideal for a smoother image capture.
SmartPhoto feature with scene recognition is good.
The auto-follow feature sounds intriguing.
I’d love to capture the beautiful scenery of British Columbia with the smooth video ❤️
Would love to try the auto follow feature.
I am eager to try the wonderful camera.
Scene-recognition feature, is the thing that interests me.
I really like the scene-recognition feature. Thanks to Best Buy for the great giveaway…good luck to everyone!
I would love to try the automatic return to home when the battery is low.
Auto-follow. Super easy for action shots. Saw one used waterskiing, video was really cool
The auto-follow feature sounds exciting!
I really like the Auto-follow that lets you lock onto a subject and follow them!
The feature I’d be looking forward to testing out is the 4K60FPS camera. That would just create amazing quality video on a big screen TV! Awesome!
SmartPhoto feature with scene recognition,
the obstacle avoidance feature is a great feature i’m looking forward to testing!
the auto-take off sounds really cool!
Auto take-off!
I personally think the auto lock on sounds really interesting and would be really cool to use. I also like the auto landing feature cause I suck at landing and have crashed my mini drone more times then I care to admit.
The 34 min run time is amazing!!! It would be perfect for creating a highlight real on the kids sports and them playing — such a great keepsake memory
I like the feature of the gimbal adjust on the back of the remote and the auto follow lets you lock onto a subject and follow them.
I like the 34 minute run time and the fact that the camera captures very good images and video.
I like the fact that the drone has SmartPhoto feature with scene recognition, HyperLight, and HDR modes, I could take some stunning pics with that kind of help.
