DJI drones are versatile for photography and really fun to fly. Their newest model, the DJI Mavic Air 2, can film in 4K at 60 frames per second! That is seriously amazing. It can reach amazing heights, speeds, and distances, so it’s much more than a toy. However, when used responsibly it elevates your senses—you’ll feel like you’re a bird in the sky! Read more about the newest drone in the DJI family, then enter for a chance to win the demo model that we had reviewed on the blog.

What can you do with a drone

A drone is more than just a flying camera. It does fly; and it has a camera. But fly a drone and suddenly you realize this is a very unique experience. First there is the feeling of lift-off—you’ll never forget that surge of excitement. Remember you are in control, elevating, tilting, drifting to the left and right. There is a learning curve, but it’s not steep; quickly you adjust your perspective to react appropriately to capture the bird’s eye view of your surroundings. If you are able to use it near your home, you’ll will gain a new appreciation for the world around you. For me, rising about ten metres above my house allowed me to capture a view of several gulf islands including Saltspring and Pender.

DJI packs their drones with amazing features

With the new DJI Mavic Air 2, you will be able to do so much more than you might think from the moment you turn it on. It is so easy to use. We sent the prize for this contest to Shelly to test it out and she was amazed that she instantly was able to capture smooth, professional looking videos, right out of the box. Watch her video to see some of the images of her farm taken with the drone.

Shelly shows what’s included with the drone, how to assemble the drone, and offers some tips on how to fly it. She also speaks to many of the unique features that enable you to do some really interesting things with simple menu selections. I love the Helix Quickshot function!

The Mavic Air 2 has many features to help you get the most from flying it. It can even help you find safe flying areas near your home. This is very important; you will want to be sure about what areas near you allow drones and if there are maximum height restrictions too. You should read Shelly’s article for a more in-depth descripton of some of the key features that she tested. Be sure to return to this page to learn what you need to do to enter our contest.

  1. To own a new DJI Mavic Air 2 from Best Buy would be great, must admit I have always been intrigued by those things. I’m sure our granddaughters would love to have a birds eye view from the heavens.

  2. I like how this drone is handy and packable. This toy would not add too much weight to my bulky DSLR and lens.

    • To record my staycation of summer would make not leaving the house that little bit better

  3. Can’t wait to just get outside and try a drone. Looks fun and the app on phone seems like it could help me out

  4. I like the feature of the voice prompts that tell you what the drone is doing without having to look at the screen.

  5. I really like to test out the 3-axis gimbal with stabilization that keeps video and photos smooth. It is always nice to watch video that are clear and has less motion.

  6. The review presented a good overview and hints at some of the limitations. Would like to have seen a text box with the key strengths of this drone model and another with the limitations. Good to know if there is a progressive series to larger more complex models.

  7. I would like to test the video recording capacity flying over some of our property in Canada and overseas.

  8. Love the 34 minute fly time and 4K video. We live on a farm and I would love to use it when we are riding the horses.

  9. Auto take off and landing sounds like it is made for me. I have seen drones in use but it looks complicated so this one seems much simpler. I would be sure to take it to the country with my RV

  10. I am incredibly curious to see the camera quality! 4k with 60 fps sounds incredible! I would love to be able to experiment with angles and elevations to get exciting photos and videos

  11. The auto take-off and landing sounds great as well as auto return.
It would be so fun to have ne of these!

  12. the different photo features sounds exciting especially getting those photos from such different angels, and it would be really cool to fly a drone, never have before.

  13. I’ve crashed multiple drones in the past so the auto landing feature is definitely what interests me the most!
