DJI drones are versatile for photography and really fun to fly. Their newest model, the DJI Mavic Air 2, can film in 4K at 60 frames per second! That is seriously amazing. It can reach amazing heights, speeds, and distances, so it’s much more than a toy. However, when used responsibly it elevates your senses—you’ll feel like you’re a bird in the sky! Read more about the newest drone in the DJI family, then enter for a chance to win the demo model that we had reviewed on the blog.

What can you do with a drone

A drone is more than just a flying camera. It does fly; and it has a camera. But fly a drone and suddenly you realize this is a very unique experience. First there is the feeling of lift-off—you’ll never forget that surge of excitement. Remember you are in control, elevating, tilting, drifting to the left and right. There is a learning curve, but it’s not steep; quickly you adjust your perspective to react appropriately to capture the bird’s eye view of your surroundings. If you are able to use it near your home, you’ll will gain a new appreciation for the world around you. For me, rising about ten metres above my house allowed me to capture a view of several gulf islands including Saltspring and Pender.

DJI packs their drones with amazing features

With the new DJI Mavic Air 2, you will be able to do so much more than you might think from the moment you turn it on. It is so easy to use. We sent the prize for this contest to Shelly to test it out and she was amazed that she instantly was able to capture smooth, professional looking videos, right out of the box. Watch her video to see some of the images of her farm taken with the drone.

Shelly shows what’s included with the drone, how to assemble the drone, and offers some tips on how to fly it. She also speaks to many of the unique features that enable you to do some really interesting things with simple menu selections. I love the Helix Quickshot function!

The Mavic Air 2 has many features to help you get the most from flying it. It can even help you find safe flying areas near your home. This is very important; you will want to be sure about what areas near you allow drones and if there are maximum height restrictions too. You should read Shelly’s article for a more in-depth descripton of some of the key features that she tested. Be sure to return to this page to learn what you need to do to enter our contest.

  1. There’s a lot of wildlife around my reservation and I’ve seen some bears a couple of times, it would be nice to send out a drone to keep me and my dog safe as we walk I just hope the eagles won’t take down a brand new drone

  2. I really can’t be trusted to look after myself let alone a drone. The automatic return to home on low battery would keep me flying!

  3. I think the auto-take off, auto-land, and automatic return to home point on low battery features are great. No more crash landings in a neighbor’s field!

  4. Hey there! I’m Zayn, a 13 year old techie from Canada and for months now I’ve had my eye on some of the higher end DJI drones for aerial photography and cinematography (the Air 2 most recently) but simply couldn’t afford one, so I saved up and bought a cheaper knockoff of the Mavic drones, but it just didn’t compare in terms of quality and features, and it promptly broke down after a few weeks of use, not to mention the lack of any sort of gimbal and a supposedly 4K camera that actually shot in 480p. If I had to choose my favourite feature from the Mavic Air 2, (other than the insanely good camera), I would have to choose the build quality and safety features. The obstacle avoidance, extreme wind resistance, build quality, automatic return to home and landing features, plus the superb software and overall user experience, while still maintaining excellent portability are huge pluses for me. My last drone got repeatedly blown away by very light gusts of wind, meaning I could only fly at low altitudes and when there was virtually no wind. Thanks for reading my entry and I hope you pick me to win this amazing drone!

  5. Automatic return to home point on low battery and assisted landing WOULD HELP THE SURVIVAL RATE OF THIS THING

  6. First is the video feed of 4k@60fps gives you a birds eye view with eagle eye clarity. Second is the absolutely long time of 34 minutes of flight time that’ll give you 10km of range with the added feature of return home if the drone loses signal or low battery. Lastly the build quality of any DJI drone is why you pay to play.

  7. Smooth picture quality (4K/60 frames a second) and it’s ability to self land, auto-follow, 64K/he speed, 10km range and most important low battery auto return. What’s not to love?

  8. Everyone wants to take off but the auto landing is a bonus until you learn to do it yourself

  9. I love the obstacle avoidance feature and the fact that it helps you find safe flying areas near your home.

  10. Obstacle avoidance and fly time are features that really interest me. I have been admiring the Mavic drones for a while. Hoping to get one for use on our 80 acre farm. Would love to be able to fly over the fields and check them out, lots of room to play with it.

  11. Hello, thanks for yet another giveaway !, This camera would just be awesome for aerial pictures when going on fishing trips, wow.

  12. I like the auto-take off, auto-land, and automatic return to home point on low battery features. You never have to worry about a battery dying and not making it home.
