Get closer to the game with Samsung

I remember a couple decades ago, craning my neck to see above my brothers (I have 5 of them), to see the grainy NBA action on a box-television perched on the living room floor. Times have sure changed. In many ways the game has not changed too much. Oh sure, we have new players—exciting, incredibly talented players—but in essence the game has been and will continue to be fan-exhilarating. However, the latest innovation has transformed how we experience the game.

Face it, very few of us in Canada will get the opportunity to attend a live NBA game (even fewer an NBA Finals game!). The latest offerings from Samsung bring that game to us, anywhere. Just peruse the Samsung page online at Best Buy and you’ll get a sense of the many ways that you can follow the NBA, learn about the players, or find out the latest NBA news as soon as it happens. Here are some of the Samsung products you’ll find at Best Buy:

  • Samsung QLED TV: QLED from
  • Samsung brings consistently bright colours, and brilliant contrast for the most amazing, natural action.
  • Samsung Galaxy Book: Experience a captivating mobile entertainment experience with quad speaker sound and a SUPER Amoled display
  • Samsung S9/S9+: Capture the moment in the moment with Super Slow-mo and incredible low-light performance with dual aperture.
  • Samsung Gear: Don’t miss a minute of your NBA news, whether you are on a run or at your desk at work.

NBA playoffs and Samsung are a perfect match

You know the NBA playoffs will not disappoint. Is your favourite team in the East or the West? Okay so perhaps that is a silly question in Canada given that Toronto will likely be a popular choice. Toronto is considered by many to be a top contender from the East, along with Cleveland and Boston. In the West, most people see either the Golden State, OKC, or Houston reaching the finals. Who do you want to see in the NBA Finals?

HOW TO ENTER

Entering this contest is easy, but you can only enter once. (You may not see your entry appear below immediately so be patient and don’t enter a second time—it will appear eventually.) First, use the links above to visit one of the Samsung pages at Best Buy and find something that you think would help you have a great NBA playoff experience: a QLED TV, a tablet …. In a comment below this article, tell us which Samsung tech you think would help you to enjoy the NBA playoffs. If you prefer you can mail in your answer as explained in the official rules (located below this article). If you want, you can also tell us which two teams you would prefer to see in the playoffs.

WHAT YOU CAN WIN

At the end of the contest, the winner will be selected by random draw from all eligible entries submitted to receive this VIB NBA experience: tickets, airfare and accommodations for two to a 2018 NBA Championship Playoff Game as well as a Samsung Galaxy S9 Device and a Samsung wireless charging pad.

The contest runs from April 27th until May 24th.

Remember you can only enter once. However, basketball is a team sport! Share this with your family, your friends, and your neighbours (who will certainly be your friends after you tell them about this contest!). If one of you wins you all can share in the glory of having someone in your inner circle who will be attending an NBA Finals game. That’s awesome!

Good luck.

  1. A Samsung QLED TV is the ideal choice in my opinion. As big as possible to watch the games!

  2. The Samsung QLED would definitely be amazing to enjoy the playoffs! I love watching the games at home with my family. And it would be so much better On an OLED screen!

  3. Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ would help me enjoy the NBA Final Game if I won and was there at the event in person. It allows me to Facebook it, take pictures throughout the entire trip with my girlfriend. The S9/S9+ would also enable me to enjoy the game if I did not win by keeping me informed while on “the go”.

    Good Luck Everyone!

  4. I could really use a QLED TV because my old 720p Samsung from 2006 isnt very sharp looking anymore.

Always pass by the HDR sets in bestbuy but haven’t had the chance to get one yet. I imagine it’s possible to see the demon lurking in LeBron from 4k HDR resolution, which would make it that much more interesting to watch.

Maybe we should also send one to the refs, blown up on a big 4k screen maybe they’ll be able to see properly to make the right calls.

  5. I am a person on the go, and I need access to news, sports updates, university classes or content, and connect with family and friends at all times. My phone is my life. For me, a Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ would be the best item to watch the games. I cannot sit for long or hold heavy weight after an auto accident; and need to have light weight items and tools to assist me in life’s errands and enjoyments. The cell phone has the right size, weight and quality with it’s display and sound to provide me excellent visual or audio of the games and other entertainment.

“The Infinity Display, now with more detail and improved performance in daylight, delivers deeper blacks and higher contrast. Dolby Atmos delivers immersive virtual 360-degree surround sound with AKG speakers for louder, clearer and virtually distortion-free audio2” (Best Buy, 2018).

    Thank you kindly.

  6. My brand new Galaxy S9+…I am always at work during bulk of the games…but the amazing infinity OLED display and the phenomenal sound on this device…I cant make do without my S9+!

  7. Galaxy S9 would be fantastic to watch the Celtics vs Cavs on; it’s so portable that I can take it anywhere with me!

  8. My Galaxy S9 Plus…with its amazing camera capabilities, I can take crystal clear still images and super slow motion videos to share with the family and friends.

  9. The Samsung QLED tv would be awesome for watching the NBA finals games allllll the way to the final championship with hopes of the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors squaring off against each other. Dim the lights and watch the magic of the Samsung QLED tv make a realistic experience of the game for me, it will be like I am actually apart of the team!!

  10. While a TV would be nice, I’m more on the go, so a new S9 or Galaxy Book would be more up my alley!

  11. S9 is tempting considering I’m using a Windows Phone that doesn’t have the NBA app at all, but the real answer has to be a TV upgrade. Big difference between a 37″ 1080p and a 65″ 4K for watching games.

  12. The Samsung tech I think would help me to enjoy the NBA playoffs is definitely the Samsung QLED TV.

  13. I would definitely love to experience watching the 2018 basketball championships on the Samsung QLED TV; with a tv like that I wouldn’t mind not being at the game. LOL NOT!

  14. Definitely the S9. My old iPhone is slowing down and having a phone that can multitask and take great pictures at sporting events/while traveling would be awesome!

  15. The Samsung Gear watch, so you can constantly check that’s it’s time for LeBron to move to the Raptors.
