If you’re a fan of Arlo Smart Security Cameras, get ready to celebrate a whole new innovation from Arlo that’s about to bring your home’s security rating up several levels (sometime later in 2019)! It’s the new Arlo Security System, and it’s just been announced at the big CES show in Las Vegas, Nevada. To learn all about what this system has to offer and consider whether it might be a good fit for your smart home, just keep on reading.

Arlo Security System

The new Arlo Security System is not a single product. What it is is a variety of new products that together comprise a fully customizable smart security system that can be made to meet the unique and individual requirements of your particular home.

This new security system consists of the Arlo Multi-Sensor, the Arlo Siren, and the Arlo Remote, all of which are controlled by the centrepiece of the system—the Arlo SmartHub, which itself works with the the Arlo Ultra Camera and other Arlo devices.

Together, under the command of the Arlo SmartHub, these products cooperate to give you complete control over your entire smart home security system via the Arlo App.

.

The new Arlo Ultra is a wire-free security camera that records footage in crystal clear 4K HDR video and supports 2-way audio via a built-in speaker and noise-canceling microphone. Additional features include a 180 degree panoramic filed of vision, intelligent auto-zoom and tracking, night vision capabilities (in colour!), and an integrated spotlight built directly into the camera to shed a little light on the subject whenever duty calls.
.
.
The new Arlo Multi-Sensors do pretty much what you might imagine—sense trouble. For instance, simply place a few of these sensors in well thought-out areas around your home (such as key access points like windows and doors) and relax as these small sensors go to work keeping an eye out for all manner of dangers.
.
Such incidents include the unauthorized opening (or closing) of windows and doors, water leaks, smoke and carbon monoxide leaks, and unexpected temperature changes. If any of these anomalies is detected, the sensor will send you a special alert to let you know.
.
.
The Arlo Siren too does just as you might expect—when triggered, it lets out an ear piercing sound that is sure to scare off any intruder. It even has a few sneaky tricks up its sleeve. For instance, when you’re not at home, the siren can try and trick trespassers into thinking that you are by playing sounds such as people or pets making typical noises. How’s that for tricky?
.
.

Finally, there’s also the Arlo Remote, which is designed to give you an extra layer of control over your whole-home security system. As a programmable and multi-functional device, the Arlo Remote allows you to activate (or deactivate) your system at the simple touch of a button. Moreover, you can control as much or as little of your system as you wish to manage at any give time. Now that’s convenient!

.

One final thing to keep an eye out for—sometime later this year Arlo is releasing its own smart home ecosystem called Works with Arlo.
