Canadian company Lorex has unveiled its new security camera and smart doorbell models. These include the 2K dual-lens indoor camera and the new 4K battery-powered video doorbell. They provide even greater security for users. The devices also offer seamless integration with intelligent home systems.

Greater coverage thanks to the 2K dual-lens camera

First of all, as its name suggests, Lorex’s 2K dual-lens camera is equipped with two high-definition sensors. As a result, the model offers extended coverage, with the option of monitoring two separate areas simultaneously. To extend the range, one of the lenses rests on a rotating axis to offer a 360° panoramic view. The company points out that automatic tracking capabilities have been enhanced. All of this enables better monitoring of moving objects.

The camera can recognize, for example, the movement of a pet, a child or a person requiring assistance. Presets can be defined for instant navigation through multiple zones without the need for manual panning. This new model produces images with precise 2K resolution, ensuring that every detail is captured. Clarity extends into the night, with the ability to record clear night-time images, even in total darkness.

Increased privacy and security

For even greater security, the Lorex 2K dual-lens camera also features a call button. This can be configured to call the camera’s owner or a caregiver for prompt assistance. Combined with the two-way conversation function, the user can communicate directly with the person or animal at the other end of the camera. There’s even the option of choosing a pre-recorded prompt response message.

This new model is also privacy-conscious, with several privacy settings. Users can, for example, rotate the camera lens downwards to ensure that no video is captured. It is also possible to press a button to instantly deactivate the recording of both cameras. What’s more, the company offers the opportunity to store videos directly on a local microSD card instead of using cloud storage.

Lorex has also announced its very first smart video doorbell with 4K resolution. This includes a vertically rotating wide-angle lens that offers a full head-to-toe view. At night, the doorbell offers both color and infrared night vision. Users have added options and convenience thanks to its two power modes. They can either use the internal battery directly, which lasts for months, or use a wired connection.

Featuring a smart LED security call button, this doorbell further deters unwanted individuals thanks to its remote visibility. There’s also a Nightlight feature that can illuminate your front door when motion is detected, or even be programmed at a certain time. This doorbell includes a 64 GB microSD card, offering up to 6 months’ storage, as well as access to all functions at no extra subscription cost.

Integration with your smart home system

Whether it’s the indoor camera or the new video doorbell from Lorex, both devices integrate perfectly with your smart home system. Currently, the products support voice assistance via Amazon Alexa or even Google Assistant. You can also combine them with smart bulbs to, for example, make the lights flash when someone knocks on the door.
