This is a great year to introduce your home to a new smart home camera from D-Link. They have many cameras to choose from, and their latest models will astound you with their simple set-up, ease of operation, and the huge increase in security you get. To help you learn for yourself how secure you’ll feel with one installed in your home, Best Buy is giving away 6 cameras in this contest (3 indoor and 3 outdoor) as shown above. Enter now for your chance to be one of the 6 lucky winners!

Now is the time to install a smart camera

Smart home camera technology has come a long way in only a few short years. The quality of the captured image, ability to see the action in real time on your phone no matter where you are in the world, and the ease and versatility of the installation are simply remarkable. The advantages of owning some (or even just one!) is obvious: security for your family, for your home, and for your valuables.

Summer is the perfect time to make your home smarter and a great security camera is the perfect way to start. Smart home technology is an investment into the future safety and security of your home and family. Once autumn arrives you’ll be too busy to make changes around the home. However, do the changes now, then when the new school and work season begins you’ll be glad you did. A great security camera will protect your home when those shorter, darker fall and winter days offer more opportunities to thieves. Also, a camera allows you to see your kids when they arrive home from school—you’ll know if they had a good day or not right away!

D-Link’s latest cameras, the Full HD 180 degree indoor and outdoor cameras, offer all of these benefits and more. To learn all about them, you can read the review that Leo Bond just posted on the Best Buy Blog. He reviewed the same types of camera that we are giving as the prizes in this contest.

How to Enter to win a D-Link Full HD 180 degree camera

You can enter this contest right here on the blog. You can enter only once by telling us in a comment where you would most want to place a camera (outdoors or indoors) and why. You may want both, but to be eligible to win you must choose either an outdoor location or an indoor location and discuss your choice in a comment below.

What you can win

We will randomly choose 6 winners from all eligible entries: 3 will win a D-Link Wi-Fi Outdoor 180 Degree HD Camera, and 3 will win a D-Link Wi-Fi Indoor 180 Degree HD Camera. We will try to ensure that the winners get the type of camera they requested in their comment; however, since the draw is random that may not be possible.

The contest will run from Friday July 14th until Monday July 31st.

Remember you can only enter once. After you leave a comment below share this post on your social channels so your friends and family can also have a chance to win.

Also, subscribe to the blog so you can get email notifications when new posts and new contests get added to the blog: you will never miss out on another contest!

  1. The outdoor model would be great to watch the property while away, but then so would the indoor to watch what the pets are doing while away.

  2. I would put it outdoors at the cabin to keep an eye on unwanted visitors when we aren’t there.

  3. I would install a D-Link Wi-Fi Outdoor 180 Degree HD Camera to view our backyard. It is very private with shrubs and trees and a camera would make me feel more secure when I have to let out our dog at night.

  4. I would love the D-Link outdoor camera so that I can see if anyone is prowling around my house and yard

  5. I think the outdoor camera would suit us better. That way we can see who’s been to our house and when we are gone see if anything is happening outside on our property.

  6. I would love to put one in the back ally to protect my garage. Cannot see it from the house and it is not an amazing neighborhood by far.

  7. Great tech from D-Link and I’ve starting to look into buying one of these. I could use either of them (can mount interior model facing through a window to achieve similar results to an outdoor model) though my preference is for the amazing outdoor model for it’s mounting flexibility, Ethernet connection and infrared lighting/night vision.

We live in a condo with a patio that is facing onto a street and ravine/park on the far side. Many of our neighbours have already had break-ins via their patios (hard to secure large patio door or sliding window in an isolated space) .

While the camera won’t stop anyone, it will discourage some from entering the patio, give us a chance to respond to a situation and provide a record. Hard to beat!

  8. A D-Link Wi-Fi Outdoor 180 Degree HD Camera would be my choice for peace of mind security. We would like to check for intruders from skunks to prowlers.

  9. I would love an outdoor camera to keep an eye on the vehicle, they have been gone through on more than one occasion.

  10. Seems everyone should have an outdoor camera these days…we haven’t gotten around to it yet though

  11. Outdoors. As as senior with some mobility problems, and even though don’t live in a high crime area, would love to be able to monitor the outside of the house and check who’s at the door before opening, Way too many strange faces showing up canvassing.

  12. I am very interested in the D-Link Wi-Fi Outdoor 180 Degree HD Camera, we have a fairly large acreage, I love the fact this has a motion detector and we can view the camera remotely. Would give me peace of mind when were not home, instead of re-lie on friends and family to come and check.

  13. I would love to have the camera at my front door so I don’t have to answer when sales people come knocking!

  14. Outdoor one for two reasons
For security of course AND to NOT miss any package delivery anymore 🙂 !!
    Smile you’re on camera !

  15. We have had missing mail deliveries so i would place the camera outside to see who was coming and going from our front door.

  16. I would prefer an outdoor camera. I already have a couple of indoor cameras to keep an eye on my dogs. Having one outside to monitor for deliveries and door-to-door salespeople would be a huge benefit! Then I’d know why my dogs are freaking out on the other cameras! The D-Link Outdoor WiFi 180 Degree HD Camera would be a fantastic addition to my home current home monitoring and would also allow me to see what goes on in the neighbourhood every day while I am at work.

  17. I would love a D-Link Wi-Fi Outdoor Camera to deter any burglars and allow me to keep an eye on my property.

  18. I’d install an indoor camera to keep watch on my 5 kids. My oldest is just starting to babysit the other 4 and a second set of eyes would be beneficial to see just exactly what is going on when mom and dad are away!

  19. I could seriously use an indoor camera. It would greatly help me watch my dog who is in palliative care. Would provide me a bit of freedom

  20. Indoors, i can then keep an eye on anyone who tries to mess around entering my home. Of late i have been very scared of the idea of someone breaking in.

  21. I would place it outdoors facing the street. I live in a rough neighborhood and there are always crazy people doing crazy things on this particular street.

  22. We cover our pool with cameras . Having the capability for instant viewing ..live.. let’s us know with live video of who or what is by our pool. Safety is our ultimate goal. Sensor goes off with sound makes us immediately aware . We believe avoiding a tragedy we all know happens. Yes We would sleep better with these for sure. Thanks for chance too Win Big !

  23. I would use the DCS-2670L outdoor wifi camera mounted to the exterior of my cottage so that I can keep an eye on the property while I’m not there. That would be a very useful piece of equipment built to deal with the elements.

  24. Indoors, i can then keep an eye on what my 1 year old dog is doing at home by herself while i am at work.

  25. I would put it on the front of my house not to catch any car burglar or anything but more to capture memories with the neighbours. Plus if there’s a really cool storm then that too!

  26. I would place mine outdoors- always want to secure my home the best way possible and I believe this would do the job.

  27. I am very interested in the D-Link Wi-Fi Outdoor 180 Degree HD Camera, we have a fairly large property with a pool and hot tub, I love the fact this has a motion detector and we can view the camera remotely. Would give me peace of mind when the kids are home with “no friends or party’s in the yard” we could actually check instead of relaying on neighbors to make sure everything is ok.

  28. Outdoor under the porch for additional weather protection. Ideally, if designers think of screw on bulb type for no hassle power 🙂

  29. Great read! I’d put one on the outside of my house right on the corner. With a corner lot, I get lots of people cutting across my lawn, purposefully ruining my flower gardens and other lawn ornaments.
