Arlo security cameras can help make any home more secure, whether you are home or away from home. The peace of mind you get while you are sleeping is nothing compared to the calm you feel while on holidays, still able to see your home with the app on your phone or tablet. They are a versatile and reliable way to be aware of everything happening near your home. This is especially true of the Arlo camera bundles, like the Essential bundle we are giving away in this contest. Learn more about how this bundle is essential for travellers, then enter for a chance to win one.
Why prowlers don’t like Arlo cameras
Last week, a neighbour posted on our community Facebook page that he had a prowler on his property the previous night. His dog was “yapping like crazy” he said and he saw the back of a dark figure running down his driveway. He had no idea who it was and could not give much of a description. I’m sure this particular prowler didn’t like that this property had a dog. However, they would have really hated if it had Arlo cameras capturing a crystal clear picture on video that could be instantly shared with neighbours and with the police.
The Arlo Essential camera bundle we are giving away gives better security than a dog for many reasons. A dog might bark, which might potentially scare off an intruder (but not always since brazen thieves might not care if a dog is inside the house). However, when the camera suddenly illuminates the area, the natural first thing to do is to look into the light. At that instant the thief knows they have been captured on video, and that video has already been sent to the cloud. There is nothing they can do at that point. Another reason that this bundle is better than a dog is because it comes with four cameras, for equally strong security coverage at multiple sites in or around your home. Lastly, this security is equally strong even if you and your dog are not home. While you are on holidays, your dog may be with a friend or family member. Your cameras, however, are placed at essential locations around your home: they’re wireless so you will move them around as you please inside and outside your home. You can access the footage, and share clear HD video of nasty prowlers, no matter where you are in the world.
Rethink what is essential for your next trip so you don’t forget anything
Forgetting is normal, it’s human—but it’s also frustrating! Preparation is the key to a vacation with everything essential taken care of. Will you be travelling somewhere this spring or summer? Check out our travel buying guide well before you leave to help you prepare. Our intention was to make it broad enough so that it could help as many people as possible. That article has five sections to help you focus on the many things you might want to consider before your next trip. You’ll noticed, that the last section is about home security: often this is the last thing people think about. Hopefully one lasting impact you get from entering this contest, whether you win the Arlo Essential camera bundle prize or not, is that you take care of home security well before your next trip.

Good Luck!
Unlocked cell phone and a GPS or fitness tracker are two things most people forget when travelling✌️
An Arlo camera system is my first choice because I am allergic to pet dander ♀️️
I’ll take the camera over the dog since we go away on trips
I think most people forget to take water bottles and travel adapters.
I would rather have an arlo camera system because it would be more reliable and less maintenance.
I think people often forget to bring a travel power adapter and a neck pillow.
I’d rather have an arlo camera system since I already have a dog although she isn’t a guard dog.
I’m going to Alaska soon and in my list, 2 things which are mentioned on the post is power bank and water bottle !
I’d say I’ll choose arlo camera system since I’m allergic with dog !
I think people tend to forget a powerbank and travel power adapter.
Both, have all my bases covered.
I have a good drone for travel and with it I don’t need a GPS device because the drone has the coordinates recorded but I do need a converter plug for different countries, it’s a lifesaver.
I have a Shep-Husky mix named Pepper, one day at 2:30 AM , she wants out. I get out of bed and open the back door to see 2 guys about to enter my garage with a bin. She “convinces” them to leave and I’ve never had a problem since. My vote is for a dog BUT I do travel and Pepper “vacations” at my sister’s place. So it depends on when . I didn’t have a camera to record the bad guys but I can’t see why I cannot have both. A dog to handle the situation and a camera to record the action.
An ARLO Camera System because it would be much more reliable and dogs are pets.
People forget to take a water bottle and an unlocked cell phone.
I prefer the Arlo camera system because it works 24/7 unlike a guard dog that takes naps and can be bribed with food.
Dynamic duo of dog and Arlo. The dog is a deterrent and the Arlo system captures information useful for preventing theft and as evidence of theft.
The Arlo system and yeah we would love to get a dog again.
Would love to have the arlo camera system, we have all kinds of four-legged friends
People may tend to forget power adapters, and an extra camera battery.
I’ll go with the cameras. They record what happened, and can serve as evidence.
Two things people forget to pack are travel power adapters and water bottles! Speaking from experience these two items have slipped my mind multiple times.
I would love both! My dog is definitely a help if he see’s someone unfamiliar approaching, but when we are on vacation he stays with my brother so having an Arlo camera system would be great to have when no one is home.
The Arlo system and a dog would be great.
Arlo system only, In the city dogs bark at every damn person that walks buy and generally annoy the neighbors unless they are super well trained. None of our neighbors dogs are that well trained.
I would love to have the Arlo security system since i don’t have to feed it and take it to the vet !
When travelling, people tend to forget a travel power adaptor and a power bank
Would love to have the arlo camera system to see what’s happening outside, and a guard dog would be fun too 🙂
I think a power adaptor and a power bank might be two things one might forget when travelling internationally.
I would love to have the Arlo Camera system as back up to the guard dog. The camera with the photo of perpetrator is great for police.
I think most people don’t know that power sources vary from country to country so I’d bring a power adaptor as well as a power bank to ensure I could use & charge my phone, hair dryer, etc
I would definitely prefer both the Arlo Camera system and a Gusrd Dog. The camera system would be for my home security and the dog for my personal security.
Two essential things mentioned in the buying guide that I think most people tend to forget before going on a trip are power adaptors and unlocked cell phones.
Power bank and travel power adapter – both needed for overseas trips and often left home.
Both – then the camera can record the take-down. Also can be used as evidence !
They forget a power adaptor and power bank.
I would like both. The dog to alert me and the camera to show me what is happening outside to cause the dog to bark.
I already have a two small four-legged guard dogs, so I would love to have the Arlo camera system.
I already have a tiny ( and admittedly useless ) guard dog, so I would love to have the Arlo camera system.
When travelling people forget a travel adapter and a book bag (tend to forget to pack another bag in your bag)
I would love to have both! We had a guard dog who passed away two years ago and it hasn’t felt as safe. He probably would’ve just licked an intruder to death but they wouldn’t know that! The cameras would help when on vacation, because the dog comes with us.
2 essential things that most people forget when going on a trip include a travel power adapter and a luggage scale.
I would love to have both the Arlo camera system and a guard dog. A camera system would be great as there are a lot of sketchy people out there trying to steal stuff, and a guard dog because it’s been a year since my Great Dane died and I miss him; people were scared of a big dog with a loud voice but he was my big sucky cuddle muffin.
Typically when traveling or going on a trip people tend to forget a power adapter and a power bank.
An Arlo camera system is great and provides peace of mind along with evidence should the need arise. Unfortunately dogs are a no go for my wife.
I think people may tend to forget an extra camera battery, and memory card.
I’d rather have the cameras. Less maintenance, and I would have a record of events.
If there was a court case the Arlo Camera System’s evidence would hold up in court rather than the dog’s testimony.
I’d rather have an arlo camera system, less maintenance and I can save on pet costs! 😉
a guard dog and Arlo system… more protection with both!
