Digital photo frames by Aura are one of the best ways to show and share your photo library. We all take a ton of photos with our cameras and usually don’t put much thought into what will happen to them afterward. So, I’m going to make a couple suggestions to help you get more from your photos this holiday. Read my suggestions, then enter this contest for a chance to get more from the photos you take this holiday season.

Do you know someone who needs an Aura Digital Frame in their life

First, I want to make one thing clear. I need one of these. I need more than one actually: a conservative estimate is seven. I’ve thought carefully about where I would put them (a couple in the bedroom, one in the living room, one in the dining room, etc.). I’ve also considered people in my life who would also love to have one or more Aura Frames. My mother-in-law, for instance. She takes photos with her phone, and with her iPad … all the time. She posts some on Facebook for my wife and I to enjoy, but that’s it. The photos stay on the phone (or in the cloud), but disappear from human memory.

I have also thought carefully about the photos I would show. This is the kicker: I realized that most of the images in my photo library are not “share-worthy.”  There are photos that I would want on display, but not enough. That’s the crux of my photo library. I take a ton of photos, but not enough that I would consider precious memories. I love the photos that Brad showed in his review of these frames (and even took one of his images for the feature image at the top of this article). For some people photo worthy is a pet, for others its people or places.

How to make the most of your Aura Digital Frame

Okay so now you know why you and/or your loved ones need these frames and you might have an idea of how many ideally you need in your home. I want to make a couple suggestions for you to get the more share-worthy images this holiday season. That way, when you open your presents and find an Aura Frame, you’ll be ready to load it with the great photos that you never want to forget.

First ( and I’m going to do this too!) try to get lots of pictures of yourself in the shot with your arm around someone you love (or like quite a bit). Do you have many of these shots in your library already? Not likely. You’re probably like me, behind the camera taking the shot. Open your camera app and learn how to use the timer. On my Samsung Note10 it’s right at the top of the display and it is really easy to use. Alternatively, ask someone else to take the photo then check it right away and if the image sucks, ask them to take another. You’re making memories after all!

Secondly, create little photo stories each day to make more of your life memorable. Did you just finish a book? Take a picture of it, with the piece of cake you are about to eat to celebrate. You will quickly find it easy to build a new way of looking at your mobile photography. Instead of just taking a picture, you are building the library of images you will display. For example, we got our tree up early this year, and I took this image of our cat getting ready to pounce while surrounded by tissue paper: she is going through a phase right now where she loves to hide in under tissue paper. So this image will remind us for years about the tree and the cat’s playfulness.

How to enter

Entering this contest is easy and you can enter in two different ways.

  1. Leave a comment below and tell us how many Aura Digital frames you would ideally need for your home and where you would put them.
  2. For an additional entry, create a public post on a social media channel telling your friends and followers that you are entering to win an Aura Frame from the Best Buy Blog; include the hashtag #AURABestBuyContest, so we can find your post, and include a picture that you took and would hope to display using the frame if you win. Then return here and tell us in a comment below on which channel you posted it and the name of your channel (since many people use pseudonyms) so that I can check and verify your entry. You can use any social media channel (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc) but the post must be public so we can verify it is there.

What you can win

At the end of this contest we’ll randomly select four winners from all eligible entries. One winner will receive the Best Buy exclusive “Buddy” Frame, one person will win the smaller (~9 inch display) Mason Frame, and two people will win a beautiful 10.1 inch Carver Frame.

This contest will run from Nov 15th to Nov 28th.

Remember that this contest is all about creating memories that you can share. So a good start for you and your family would be to share this contest with them so they too have a chance to win.

  1. I would love to have 2 of these frames, have always loved photos and would be nice to display the ones on my phone. One in the kitchen and one in the living room.

  2. I would love to get these for my parents. They probably need 2 or 3, and since they have wifi, I can pull photos from the cloud. Perfect.

  3. I’d love 3 Aurora digital frames one for living room, tv room and my bedroom, I have so many digital photos that I’d love to be able to see them all the time.

  4. I would need 3 Aura Digital frames – one for the living room, one for the kitchen and one for my crafts room.

  5. Ideally, 3 of the Aura Digital frames would be fantastic! I’d put one in the master bedroom and one in the office to view family and personal photos. The last would be great in the living room to share our travel photos with friends that come to visit as well as our own enjoyment of memories!!

  6. I would need at least two frames, and maybe four. As my father’s Alzheimer’s progresses, little reminders here and there of people and places could be very useful.

  7. I would need three of these frames. One would go in the Family Room so that I can clear all of the pictures off the top of my piano (it would make my husband ecstatic to have a clutter-free piano top), one would go in my Living Room so that all the family that would visit (post-Covid) can see all those whimsical family shots, and the last one would go into my mother-in-laws Living room so all the family can see all those pictures that she’s been taking on her camera and never printing!

  8. I could really use three of the aura frames. I would put one in the kitchen, one in the den, and one in the master bedroom.

  9. I would love five of those Aura frames. I would put one in each of the bedrooms, one in the den and one in the living room

  10. I would use 6-10 of them to make a feature wall of life events. One for family, one for each of my children, travel , one for my husband and myself, and one for milestones in our lives ,our pets also. I would make a compilation one and send to my mom who lives on the other side of the country

  12. Just one. We purchased one for my parents after the birth of our daughter so we could keep them up to date during lockdowns. Ever since then my grandmother has been jealous that she doesn’t have one.

  13. 3 for me in my house, living room, family room, bedroom. but these would make wonderful Christmas gifts for loved ones all loaded up with meaningful pictures…..so i would need a bunch I think!! haha!!

  14. I need 4 frames at least. One for the dog, one for vacations one for Jen and one for all the pictures James take. Does that come with some one to help me load all the pictures to these frames?

  15. I would need 3 Aura digital frames for our home so we can have our favourite memories on each of our 3 floors.
