Digital photo frames by Aura are one of the best ways to show and share your photo library. We all take a ton of photos with our cameras and usually don’t put much thought into what will happen to them afterward. So, I’m going to make a couple suggestions to help you get more from your photos this holiday. Read my suggestions, then enter this contest for a chance to get more from the photos you take this holiday season.

Do you know someone who needs an Aura Digital Frame in their life

First, I want to make one thing clear. I need one of these. I need more than one actually: a conservative estimate is seven. I’ve thought carefully about where I would put them (a couple in the bedroom, one in the living room, one in the dining room, etc.). I’ve also considered people in my life who would also love to have one or more Aura Frames. My mother-in-law, for instance. She takes photos with her phone, and with her iPad … all the time. She posts some on Facebook for my wife and I to enjoy, but that’s it. The photos stay on the phone (or in the cloud), but disappear from human memory.

I have also thought carefully about the photos I would show. This is the kicker: I realized that most of the images in my photo library are not “share-worthy.”  There are photos that I would want on display, but not enough. That’s the crux of my photo library. I take a ton of photos, but not enough that I would consider precious memories. I love the photos that Brad showed in his review of these frames (and even took one of his images for the feature image at the top of this article). For some people photo worthy is a pet, for others its people or places.

How to make the most of your Aura Digital Frame

Okay so now you know why you and/or your loved ones need these frames and you might have an idea of how many ideally you need in your home. I want to make a couple suggestions for you to get the more share-worthy images this holiday season. That way, when you open your presents and find an Aura Frame, you’ll be ready to load it with the great photos that you never want to forget.

First ( and I’m going to do this too!) try to get lots of pictures of yourself in the shot with your arm around someone you love (or like quite a bit). Do you have many of these shots in your library already? Not likely. You’re probably like me, behind the camera taking the shot. Open your camera app and learn how to use the timer. On my Samsung Note10 it’s right at the top of the display and it is really easy to use. Alternatively, ask someone else to take the photo then check it right away and if the image sucks, ask them to take another. You’re making memories after all!

Secondly, create little photo stories each day to make more of your life memorable. Did you just finish a book? Take a picture of it, with the piece of cake you are about to eat to celebrate. You will quickly find it easy to build a new way of looking at your mobile photography. Instead of just taking a picture, you are building the library of images you will display. For example, we got our tree up early this year, and I took this image of our cat getting ready to pounce while surrounded by tissue paper: she is going through a phase right now where she loves to hide in under tissue paper. So this image will remind us for years about the tree and the cat’s playfulness.

How to enter

Entering this contest is easy and you can enter in two different ways.

  1. Leave a comment below and tell us how many Aura Digital frames you would ideally need for your home and where you would put them.
  2. For an additional entry, create a public post on a social media channel telling your friends and followers that you are entering to win an Aura Frame from the Best Buy Blog; include the hashtag #AURABestBuyContest, so we can find your post, and include a picture that you took and would hope to display using the frame if you win. Then return here and tell us in a comment below on which channel you posted it and the name of your channel (since many people use pseudonyms) so that I can check and verify your entry. You can use any social media channel (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc) but the post must be public so we can verify it is there.

What you can win

At the end of this contest we’ll randomly select four winners from all eligible entries. One winner will receive the Best Buy exclusive “Buddy” Frame, one person will win the smaller (~9 inch display) Mason Frame, and two people will win a beautiful 10.1 inch Carver Frame.

This contest will run from Nov 15th to Nov 28th.

Remember that this contest is all about creating memories that you can share. So a good start for you and your family would be to share this contest with them so they too have a chance to win.

  1. I would love to have 2, for the living room and also my room as my bedstand is very empty right now. I just bought a camera and would love to start taking pictures regularly.

  2. It’s so funny because I was just thinking a few months ago, what happened to digital frames. I love that they’re making a come back. I would need 2, one for each of my side tables in my living room. We always have all of these pictures we store on our phones and people don’t get the chance to enjoy them. Having a digital frame would be awesome and real conversation starters as well!

  3. I’d only need the one, it’d make a perfect present for my grandmother, who has minimal space and maximum family! LOL That’s what happens when you have ten kids…

  4. well one in each room would be wonderful, so that is 10 in all. so everybody who visits can see the special memories our family has made over the years! 😉

  5. 5 would be enough, 2 for my grandmother to replace the old and complicated one that doesn’t work well that she has. 2 for my parents, their walls look pretty empty. Finally one for me because I never had one and put pictures of my pets would be nice in my work room. Thanks in advance if I win 🙂

  6. would love to gift this to my grandmother at her nursing home! then we can upload photos for her of all her grandkids and great-grandkids

  7. I would only want one, so I could gift it to my in-laws for Christmas. They have plenty of photos around but nothing like this, they would love it!

  8. 1 for the living room, 1 for the office. We already have a smart display in the kitchen that does the same job in ambient mode.

  9. I would need 7-10, at least one for each room! Definitely a couple on the fireplace mantle. One on everybody’s nightstand with soothing pictures to fall asleep to! I’d need a few for the home office, and at work also! Maybe more like 10-15…

  10. I would need at least 3 Aura Frames….one for the kitchen, one for the living room and one in my bedroom.

  11. I would like 2 Aura Digital frames for my Dad for Christmas. One for his livingroom, and one for his bedroom.
