Olympics.jpgI don’t actually watch a lot of sports. Other than when my Montreal Canadiens are playing during the hockey season, I don’t watch anything else, really. When they inevitably get tossed out of the playoffs, I tend to forego the rest of the season, as well as baseball, basketball and football. I do, however, love to watch the Olympic Games, both summer and winter versions, when they come around. There’s something about rooting for your own country—that nationalistic pride—that makes me want to sit on my butt in front of the TV for two weeks eating Cheetos and drinking copious amounts of Lager. Ahh, the Olympic Spirit! But it takes a lot out of the aforementioned butt to sit glued in front of the tube for two weeks of flag-waving glory and soft drink commercials. So, if you want to get comfortable for The Rio Olympic Games (August 5 – 21), kick back and I’ll give you my recommendations for the best recliners to watch for The Olympic Games.

Classic.jpgThe Classic Recliner

When I think of a recliner, I conjure up an image of my dad’s old brown leather chair he had in the corner of his den. It was a total Masterpiece Theatre chair that felt like it was a hundred years old. This Contemporary Bonded Leather Swivel Glider Recliner from Monarch reminds me of that comfy chair by the bookshelf. It’s heavily padded for extra support, and it swivels, glides and reclines, so can always find the right viewing position.

Modern Classic.jpgThe Modern Classic

The Warren Contemporary Micro Suede Recliner Chair is the ideal modern living room recliner. It’s plush, and crafted with high-density foam cushioning to make your Games-viewing cool and comfy. Plus, the micro-suede upholstery can stand up to not only everyday use, but the kind of spills and stains you can get from long hours of snacking it up in front of a days-long sporting event. It’s also part of the bigger Warren collection, in case you want to pair it with other pieces for a themed look.

Ultimate.jpegThe Ultimate

The HomCom Luxury Leather Massage Sofa Adjustable Recliner is so perfect for long hours in front of the tube watching sports…or anything, that I really want to use expletives to describe it. But the Best Buy Plug-In Blog is a family affair, so I’ll just say this is just one gosh darn…really swell…ugh…&%@#^&** awesome *&*&^%@ chair! So, the faux leather recliner features five professional massage technique modes, eight vibrating points, it swivels 360 degrees, reclines and rocks, plus it has CUP HOLDERS! Um, can we say “my personal Olympics chair” and “Hey, kids, get off of my personal Olympics chair”?

Blaze.jpgFor The Boys

The Blaze XL900 3-Seat Top Grain Leather Recliner Home Theatre Seating is the perfect man cave recliner seating for you and a couple of buddies. It brings a home theatre feel to your space, and the row of three bucket-type power recline seats feature comfy leather plus those ever-essential cup holders. The holders and the recliners’ bases are lighted too, so they’re ideal for when you have the room dark so you can catch all the action on the screen.

Full Meal Deal.jpgThe Party Set

The Forest Hill Transitional 3-Piece Recliner Sofa, Loveseat & Chair Set is what you want if you’re throwing a bigger Olympics-watching party and want comfortable recliners for everyone. The three-piece set includes a full-size sofa, cozy loveseat, and comfy accent chair, all which recline and are constructed with bolted hardwood frame, and triple-rolled backs and plush pillow arms.

No matter how you choose to watch the Rio Olympics in August, make sure you’ve got a comfortable seat, and you’re cheering on your home country with pride. So, what do you think of my recliner recommendations? Where will you be watching The games, and what are you most looking forward to seeing? Let me know in the comments section.
