Day 12 of the 12 Days of Christmas Gift Ideas at Best Buy is finally upon us, and today I’m taking a look at the Google Nest Hub Max, which comes in a variety of stylish colours and makes a wonderful gift idea for the smart tech lover in your family or realm of acquaintance. Read on to learn all about this awesome smart home device and to see why it makes a great gift for practically anyone.

The Nest Hub Max Makes a Great Gift Idea!

The Google Nest Hub Max has a variety of useful features that help to make it a truly great gift idea. As a modern Smart Display, it has all of the functionality of the typical Smart Speaker—and then some, beginning with its 10 inch high definition screen (that also happens to be a touch display) and stereo speakers.

This screen and speaker combo allows users to engage in high quality face-to-face video calling with far away family and friends (including leaving them video messages), watch movies and YouTube videos, surf the web and see anything that can be seen with a standard web browser, and even display your favourite pictures in its role as a digital photo frame. The Nest Hub Max’s stereo speakers and HD screen mean that users will enjoy the highest sound and image quality no matter how they choose to employ their display.

Other features of the Nest Hub Max include voice control over your various smart home devices (everything from telling it to turn on the lights to asking it to lock your doors), help in the kitchen with recipes from the Internet, and personalized information galore (everything from the day’s news, weather, and sports reports to your own special greeting—thanks to its Face Match technology).

There’s also a myriad of entertainment options through apps like Chromecast and Spotify, answers to virtually any question you can think to ask (Google does, after all, run the most powerful search engine on the planet, with access to the vast reservoir of information we call the Internet), and even home security (it’s built-in Nest camera can keep an eye on your home when you’re away thanks to features like motion detection).

Of course, this list represents just a tiny sampling of what the Nest Hub Max can do for you and your gift recipients this year. In fact, it’ll probably take months—and maybe even years, for new Nest Hub Max users to fully uncover its secrets.

And if that isn’t reason enough to get someone the Google Next Hub Max this Christmas, then I don’t know what is! There’s literally unlimited fun to be had with this device, and an equal dose of usefulness. Make your gift recipient’s Christmas a merry one this year with the one gift that truly keeps on giving, and watch how it changes their lives!

Check out all of the great gift ideas in our 12 Days of Christmas Gift Ideas series, and have a wonderful and happy holiday!

  1. This would fabulous for our family… we unfortunate don’t have any technology products in our house yet as we can’t afford them, so this would be an absolute dream to win! Thank you for this wonderful chance to win

  2. I’ve thought about getting the nest hub, but I’d need my whole family to have it for the video calling. It is a great piece of tech though. Any family separated by long distances should think about it so they can see each other when they talk!

    • Right you are, Ian! And another similar option that I’ve just been reviewing is the Facebook Portal. That review should go live either today or tomorrow as it’s basically finished now. The Portal lets people talk face to face using Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp. It doesn’t matter if both ends of the call don’t have the device itself. During testing my wife just used Messenger on her phone and I used the Portal, so the whole family wouldn’t necessarily need one. Keep an eye out for the review as it’ll make a bit of a compare and contrast with the Nest Hub.
