Whether you are honouring your mom, grandma, auntie, wife or someone else, here are seven great gift ideas for the active woman in your life.

Fitness without Tech

It comes with everything she’ll need, including a mat, mat bag, yoga towel, and cleaning spray. She’ll be all set for any type of yoga, whether it’s hot, power, or restorative.

Gaiam Balance Ball Chair with DVD

Gaiam Balance Ball Chair with DVDDoes your mom work from home? If so, it’s likely she’s confined to her desk and this Gaiam Balance Ball Chair can give her better back support. This mighty chair aims to provide core strengthening; comfort and ergonomic back support as well as promote proper spinal alignment. Of course there is a DVD to partake in various exercises. But the good thing about this chair is that slouching is not possible because one is forced to engage the core muscles. A healthy back makes a happy mommy!

PürAthletics Muscle Release Kit

At first glance, this may look like a lame gift. But it’s really useful gift for any moms who live an active life. It’s actually something that most chiropractors, and physiotherapists would recommend and is really useful for moms who lead an active lifestyle in the household. Now, that I’m working out more (ugh), I’m noticing my muscles tightening up. And there is never any harm in stretching more often during the day. It’s feels like heaven (afterwards) when you use these foam rollers on your back. I love it. This kit also includes resistant bands, which works great for travelling.

This Kettlebell set from Empower is a three-in-one (including five-, eight-, and twelve-pound weights), which means it’s super compact. Fitness with Tech

Fitbit Alta

Fitbit Alta You can’t go wrong with getting your mom a stylish activity tracker like the Fitbit Alta. It does much more than count the number of steps you take in a day. It tracks the distance, type of activity, calories burned, and even the quality of your sleep.

Muse, Meditation Headband

Can technology help people meditate? Muse seems to think so. If your mom has been thinking about giving meditation a try, the Muse headset is a great place to start. It works by scanning signals from your brain and translating them to sounds to help guide you in your meditation. Check out my full review of the product here. Ultimately, it measures whether your mind is in an active or calm state. With the two weather sounds the devise offers: Beach or Rainforest. The meditator will notice how active their mind is by the loudness of the sounds such as stronger waves by the beach. When one’s mind is calm, they’ll hear peaceful weather. One of the reasons why people don’t meditate is because they think they aren’t doing it properly. It’s a device that can reassure a participant’s accuracy of the meditation practice.

Fashionable Wearable Tech

Bellabeats

If your mom is interested in a fitness tracker but doesn’t want it in a watch form, she might be interested in Bellabeats. It’s a wearable tech that works as a fashionable necklace, pin or broach. This tracker monitors your fitness activity, sleep quality, stress levels, and menstrual cycle. For those moments of stress, your mom can rely on the Bellabeats and the accompanied app to guide with deep breathing exercises to get back to a calmer state of mind. Bellabeats uses a smart alarm to wake you up (gently) in the morning. This alarm will vibrate or a gentle when it notices inactivity, important events and even reminder on taking the pill.

Guess Connect 41mm SmartwatchGuess Connect 41mm Smartwatch

Did you know that Guess makes smart watches? Neither did I. But most brands seem to be getting into the game. For Guess, the watch is powered by Martian, so you can be both fashionable and tech forward. As you can tell, it’s stylish and comes in various colour combinations, of which the black and gold is my favourite. However, the most exciting thing about this watch is that it connects with your smartphone via Bluetooth so you can receive text-based notifications. You can also act like James Bond and voice commands to your wrist to respond to texts. Now, you might say that your iPhone can already let you speak into a text message. Yah, but isn’t it smoother when you do it via a fancy watch? Jokes aside, I think it’s perfect for my mom, who doesn’t like to text because she complains that the buttons are too small. Since she’s fashionable, I could see her wearing the watch and actually responding to my notes.

Ahh, now you have the difficult part of choosing a gift idea for your mom. Regardless, your mom will love any of them to help support her active lifestyle.
