Intel consistently improves computer performance year over year for everyone, from students to artists, business people to gamers. Not surprisingly, Intel is also critical to your success at the most intensely demanding activity for any computer: PC Gaming. Enter for a chance to win a high performance, Intel powered, gaming computer from Intel and Best Buy.
All gamers are welcome
What kind of gamer are you? It’s been said that variety is the spice of life and there are many kinds of PC gamer. Some people stick exclusively to simple PC games that work on any machine; others prefer highly demanding PC games they play on custom built water-cooled machines with the fastest Intel processor available. A recent study concluded that there are six distinct types of PC gamers:
- Alpha: Highly enthusiastic, cross-platform, social, influential, and competitive gamer; high knowledge of PC components especially as it affects gaming.
- Purist: PC-centric, preferring stationary, immersive gaming; likely to customize PC hardware.
- Enthusiast: passionate about the latest gaming trend, loves PC Gaming but also mobile/smartphone gaming; moderate hardware knowledge
- Pragmatist: hobbyist preferring stationary/solitary gaming; knowledgeable about hardware but pragmatic about which computer works for their needs
- On-the-go: gaming on the go is most important; satisfied with easy to use PC products
- Casual: gaming is a quick escape and usually a stationary activity; not very knowledgeable about PC hardware
Think about where you fit into this framework, and what kind of games you most like to play.

I’m a Purist, always preferred the PC as a game machine since I can customize it to my liking!
The ASUS Zephyrus S looks like my dream laptop for gaming on-the-go … and some work too!
I’m a full on purist, I can not play anything but PC and I’m always interested in seeing the new parts come to the market. The alienware m15 would the perfect upgrade for me.
Purist
Dream computer Alienware m15 or Alienware area 51.
I’m a purist. The MSI stealth is my dream laptop. The zephyr is a close second.
I’m definitely a pragmatist. I have an Xbox one x but definitely want to move into the PC gaming arena.
Alpha.
ASUS Zephyrus S Thin 15.6″ Gaming Laptop (Intel i7-9750H/512GB SSD/16GB RAM/NVIDIA RTX 2060)
Hi there , I’m a pragmatist and I believe the ASUS ROG Zephyrus S Ultra Slim 15.6″ Gaming Laptop would be most suited for my style, it’s a beautiful yet a superior laptop when compared to most others. The upgrade from my current laptop, of which I bought from bestbuy 11 years ago would be mostly appreciated!!
Enthusiast here. Machine of my dream: ASUS ROG Zephyrus S Ultra Slim 15.6″ Gaming Laptop !
Enthusiast – I love pc gaming with my kids but we like to play all sorts of video games. We have two gaming PC’s for the 3 of us right now so just need one more so we can game at the same time!
I would definitely say I’m a purist .. maybe mixed with a bit of on the go. I prefer to game on laptops when possible.
The Asus zephyrus is a beautiful machine
Definitely an enthusiast. I have kids so hard to be more then that, but I dream of a PC setup, mainly for VR. I have psvr and a switch. So I love gaming and the wonders it brings. But I love to be immersed. Always like to know what’s going on in the gaming world.
Dream PC you have would be the Alienware Aurora Gaming PC – White. It’s a beautiful design. Could upgrade components in the future but on its own would be a great plug and play for VR. Its a system I could simply buy and play.
Purist for sure. I live at my desktop. Love my Intel based PC. Ideal upgrade has to be an I9.
I’m a purest But I’m enter for someone else an older retired friend of mine I would say he is a purest but running an old PC.
I think the HP Omen Obelisk Gaming PC would be one he would like something that he wouldn’t need to upgrade for awhile and it would be something new for him since he can’t leave the house with all that’s going on.
Enthusiast: I love pc and laptop gaming and enjoy mobile alot though I prefer PC more I currently can’t do that ever since one of my siblings raged but I still have mobile . I’ve never actually owned a laptop but used my brothers gaming one before and would love to experience it completely.
I am Casual Gamer because i am very poor and don’t have enough money get big gaming laptop or desktop because they are so expensive but i wish and i know i believe my self i will become most famous gamer and have most expensive beast gaming laptop in future
I bought my first laptop from someone in 500$ and played games on that but that laptop too slow like Gta 4 games fps show like 15 only and two slow but i still love to play and want play more, i wish someday i will get expensive laptop.
I am a purist at heart, have bought pre built several times and more recently have gotten deep into building not just my own desktops but also for family. Have been looking for a solid laptop to take my games on the road!
Favorite build offered is the CyberPowerPC Xtreme Gaming PC (Intel Core i7-9700K/2TB HDD/240GB SSD/16GB RAM/RTX 2080 Super). The white finish just speaks to me on a whole new level.
Enthusiast: I love pc and laptop gaming and enjoy mobile alot though I prefer PC more I currently can’t do that ever since one of my siblings raged but I still have mobile.
Alpha minus the social and influential stuff.
Haha, picking the dream machine from that list is easy!
Cybertron BLU-Print Workstation (Intel Core-i9 9980XE, 128GB DDR4 3200MHz, Dual Quadro RTX 6000 24GB, 5TB Samsung SSD)
Should be the only PC you’d need for a while without upgrading any of the components!
Cheers!
Purist – and I’d probably custom build a rig, but if we’re picking from what’s there then the HP Omen Obelisk Gaming PC (Intel Core i9-9900K/512GB SSD/2TB HDD/32GB RAM/GeForce RTX 2080Ti) – Eng.
I would consider myself a less then a casual play. But I really like the specs that gaming computers have to allow for faster work processing and part time trading which some people could call a game. For me I like the ASUS Zephyrus S Thin
Enthusiast gamer here, i do prefer pc over console, but do play ps4 from time to time.
I don’t really have a dream desktop or laptop mostly due to always custom building my own desktop. If i had to choose, i would prefer a gaming laptop to see how different it runs vs my desktop.
I am an ALPHA.
Dream system: Alienware Aurora Gaming PC – White (Intel Core i7 9700/1TB HDD/512GB SSD/16GB RAM/GeForce RTX 2080)
PS. i don’t have money to buy this for now.
I really love Alienware design and support. I own Alienware 17 R5 for now and works really great. I am a student so, i can’t afford custom PC right now. But as soon as I am graduated, first thing I am gonna buy from my own money will be a bad ass PC. Still a year away though. I am sure I will be spending so much time building that machine but at the end it will be a show to watch, that I am sure.
Thanks for this opportunity Best Buy
I am probably a casual gamer. That being said, I am very passionate about the few games I play and have invested hundreds of hours into them
Forgot to write which laptop I like. Whoops. I like the Alienware m15 laptop for it’s sleek and modern design.
Enthusiast
Asus Zephyrus S 15.6 inch slim
(Enthusiast) I have a very low end pc that can run some games at low settings, but I would love to be able to run some of the more higher end AAA games, so a ASUS Zephyrus S Thin would be a dream come true. 🙂
Pragmatist
Casual gamer. Would love to game on dream machine Alienware m15 15.6″ Laptop (Intel Core i7-9750H/512GB SSD/16GB RAM/GTX 1660 Ti).
A mix between Alpha and Pragmatist. Love researching and shopping as much as I love building my own PC.
Always looking for the best price for performance and squeezing the most value from my dollar.
I’m a purist based on the descriptions. Would love to play and work with any of the desktops or laptops on the bestbuy website but the: Alienware Aurora Gaming PC – Silver (Intel Core i7 8700/512GB SSD/16GB RAM/GeForce RTX 2070) – would be the machine that I would choose. Thanks
Pragmatist
ASUS Zephyrus M Thin 15.6″ Gaming Laptop (Intel Core i7-9750H/512GB SSD/16GB RAM/NVIDIA GTX 1660Ti)
I am more of a purist, I’d love to win the ASUS ROG Zephyrus S Ultra Slim 15.6″ Gaming Laptop, then I can use more on the go.
I’m an enthusiast for sure; I love looking at trends of games coming out and trying out a whole bunch of different games solo or with friends online. Dream computer would definitely be the Alienware M17 because of the 2070 graphic card, lots of ram and 1TB of SSD.
I am a PC enthusiast! I not only play competitive games such as Overwatch on desktop but also play Brawl Stars on my phone when not near my computer. Since I do not have a Gaming laptop, I would love to close that gap while traveling and Win the ASUS Zephyrus S Thin Gaming Laptop or the Alienware M15. Both are stylish and functional and with the Intel i7-9750 I know I can become a better gamer!
Purist!
I’m a pragmatist when it comes to hardware and I like playing games on the go. I really like the ASUS Zephyrus S Thin 15.6″ laptop.
I would say I am a Pragmatist. An Alienware m15 15.6″ would be a welcome addition. Thank you for a chance to win.
Definitely more of a purist gamer – I haven’t but my own setup yet, but definitely hope to in the future. I would love an Aurora gaming PC on my desk right now!
I am a Alpha gamer. I work with computers all day at my job and as a hobby, I can’t get enough of the latest tech. PCIe 4 and NVMe are changing the way we can develop games. My dream PC is CyberPowerPC Supreme Gaming PC (Intel Core i9-9900/1TB SSD/16GB RAM/RTX 2060 Super) Model Number: SLC10440CPGV2. You can’t beat solid state.
I am a pragmatist. I build my own desktop PC to suit my budget. Majority of my games tend to not tax GPU/CPU much as I play mostly indie games like FTL or competitive game like R6 Siege where it’s already optimized for modern hardware. But if I can win a dream hardware, then a thin and light laptop like Asus Zephyrus S is my dream.
I would say I most fit the Alpha description but I definitely could also see myself as an enthusiast! My dream PC from Best Buy would be the Alienware Aurora R9 with an Nvidia RTX 2080, i9-9900K, 64GB RAM and 1TB SSD + 2TB HD running Windows 10! Best of luck everyone!
I am an Alpha gamer for sure. My dream machine would be ASUS ROG Zephyrus S Ultra Slim 15.6″ Gaming Laptop (Intel Core i7-9750H/1TB SSD/RTX 2080),. Nothing like having a portable powerhouse 🙂
Purist and my dream would be ASUS ROG Zephyrus S Ultra Slim 15.6″ Gaming Laptop (Intel Core i7-9750H/1TB SSD/RTX 2080)
Alpha… I play ALL the systems, lol
Choice: CyberPowerPC Gaming PC (Intel Core i7-9700K/240GB SSD/2TB HDD/16GB RAM/GeForce RTX 2080 Ti)
Would be slightly better with a 9900k, but overall specs would do absolutely everything I could ask it to (and that would be getting really picky at that point).
Good luck all!
I would say I am a purist with a little alpha mixed in. I would like a CyberPowerPC Supreme Gaming PC – White (AMD Ryzen 9 3900X/1TB SSD/32GB RAM/RTX 2080 Super). Intel may have an advantage for gaming over AMD but I am concerned with the number of vulnerabilities found recently in Intel hardware. This has really good specs that would be great for gaming but also great for media creation.
Pragmatic, i work full time, i built a Gamer PC 7 years ago (Intel i7 4770k with a Nvidia gtx 970) and have a HP spectre for casual on the go gaming when i dont have my PC with me while traveling.
also my dream PC would be HP OMEN 15.6″ Gaming Laptop (Intel Core i7-9750H/1TB SSD/16GB RAM/NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070/Win 10) HP is my goto
I’m a bit pragmatist and Alpha, or I should say I was Alpha until I became a father now the best I can afford is a few years ago. I would so love the Asus Zeph
Alpha 1000%! I’m always buying over the top gaming gear and always lean towards Asus, if anything every breaks the RMA center is in Markham and the process is painless. I use Asus gaming components today and ROG is always the creme of the crop! I would like the Asus ROG Zephyrus series of 15″ slims, prefer that over Razerblades!
I’m a pragmatist and my dream laptop is ASUS ROG Strix III G 15.6″ Gaming Laptop (Intel Core i7-9750H/512GB SSD/16GB RAM/GTX 1660Ti
Despite how often I game, I am surprised to say I’m in the casual/on-the-go categories.
My dream machine would have to be the ASUS Zephyrus S Thin 15.6″ Gaming Laptop (Intel i7-9750H/512GB SSD/16GB RAM/NVIDIA RTX 2060)
Between the GB size and performance, would allow TONS of flexibility to install various games my friends enjoy playing and I along with them!
Pragmatist: hobbyist preferring stationary/solitary gaming; knowledgeable about hardware but pragmatic about which computer works for their needs
