One of the most personal technologies has to be the ereader, like those offered by Kobo. I realize that some of them can surf the web and view multimedia, but for me, they are made for reading books. They are perfectly designed for that one simple task. They are lightweight, with a display that is easy on the eyes in daylight, or at night, and they easily fit in one hand. Why do I love Kobo eReaders so much

Let me tell you a little story, a true story. Once upon a time I had a Kobo ereader, a gift from my children, and I used it all the time. I read a huge assortment of novels on my cherished Kobo: mysteries, historical fiction, classics, trashy pop fiction, non-fiction and more. My brain was filled with great characters and great stories. I took my Kobo everywhere: on cruises in the Caribbean, on flights to Europe, and even back and forth in my car daily so that at any moment I could take a few minutes’ break, just me and my Kobo.

Then tragedy struck: one evening while rushing to take groceries into the house to make dinner, I forgot my Kobo in the car. Wouldn’t you know it, a thief broke into my car and stole it. I was shattered! End of story. However, I still feel the loss. You never know how much you love something until it’s gone.

  10. I have a library in my home. I also have a Kobo mini with an extensive library on it as well. The reason why I like my e-reader is because while I can pick up a book and read (e-reader as well) it’s more convenient to pack my e-reader in my bag or purse if I’m going to the doctor’s office or traveling. This way I have more than one book I can choose from to read (which I usually have 3-4 books on the go at the same time).and depending on my mood it’s right there to choose from. The only downside is that my mini doesn’t have a built-in light so I’ve had to stock up on batteries, For the clip on light. Other than that I love my e-reader!

  11. For the past few years I’ve had a Kobo, I started with the Kobo Touch, then I had the Kobo Aura & now I’ve got the Kobo Aura H2O & I’ve loved each one! I love that you can store 100s of books which I’ve done with over 800 books stored on mine. I love the selection of books & the VIP Super Points. You can also get free books. My husband has one too. We like how we can just throw them into my purse, they’re so compact & light. Love that I can stay in bed reading while my husband sleeps & I’m not disturbing him by turning pages or having the light on because with the touch screen & back light it makes it easy to quietly turn a page & read in the dark.

  12. I am on my third kobo and only becausr of mishaps . I find them very easy to use and lot easier to carry a round then a bunch of paperbacks. Thank you for such a great product.

  24. Love the ereaders and the company. They replaced two of the original ones that died on me. I still have the third one but my husband bought me the Kobo Arc and it’s still going strong. The Clara must be awesome because other than making it waterproof, I have no idea on how to improve it.

  26. I love the lightweight portability of them! I can travel with them in my airplane carry on without increasing to weight with numerous books- I have a whole book collection in there! The screen also doesn’t hurt your eyes like phones, laptops and tablets do, it’s dim and soft lighting that will let you read for hours on end, and when reading at night the light up screen (still not hurting my eyes) doesn’t bother other people with harsh lighting!

  27. I would love an up-grade, my Kobo is now three years old. A library in your pocket has to be the best invention ever! Kobo books can take you all over the world and beyond! Entertainment for my 65 year old mind is absolutely a MUST!! Pick me!!!

After a lifetime of reading, the books pile high on the shelves, but with a kobo ereader not only is the environment saved from piles of books all around, but, it also puts all those same books in the palm of your hand to be read whenever the moment spurs! A relaxing moment on the hammock, killing time waiting for an appointment or into the gaps of he hustle-and-bustle of traveling, the kobo ereader is there for you! As an added bonus, as a parent of 5 kids, you know those half a dozen stories that toddlers love to read and read again, and then again… Yup, right there for you and your little guy every time he asks!

I love that its portable I don’t need a book light for it and it keeps stats on me and my books as well as its convenient and handy I can bring it with me anywhere and I can share my love of different authors at the same time by reading numerous novels its amazing and its capacity continues to astound me 🙂

  32. I love that a kobo is light easy to store can contain a lot of different types of reading materials all in different categories to scan fast and find your next great read. I also like the fact that, I can surf the net and play games if I need some down time. I would recommend that everyone have one or a least try one on for size you will never go back!

  37. I love Kobo ereaders because they give me access to hundreds of books through the Kobo store, including downloads available from my local public library. No more carrying heavy books with me on my daily commute to work! Because I have poor eyesight, its display features are a definite bonus, too!

  43. it would be great for travelling…no packing a ton of books. Since we are going to go full time RVing for a few years, this would work great. Also, When your sitting in bright sunshine you can still ready…unlike another brand !!!

    Read at night always goes back to you left off anywhere. Very light has its own book store on line on kobo book reader , lost my first one and 2nd one i ordered felt like a kid at Christmas waiting for the arriveal.
