Modern computing accessories like Seagate storage solutions help boost productivity and security and are great for anyone who works from home. Some people want an ultra portable solution like the One Touch SSD that is light-weight and compact yet still able to store a lot of information. Others prefer a massive Firecuda Gaming Dock with the super fast Thunderbolt 3 connection to get the data to and from your computer with minimal delay, you know Seagate is a great option to handle your data. This contest has both options available as prizes: one winner will get the portable solution, one winner will get the high-capacity solution.
Seagate protects you from putting all your eggs in one basket
Idioms are beautiful language tools that, among other things, enable us to address complex topics in simple terms that are accessible to everyone. The idiom above about eggs in a basket is a great example: the eggs are your data; the basket is the harddrive in your computer; the risk is to lose all data if that one storage location fails or falls or is stolen, etc.
Industry experts have been advising people for decades to back up data. There was a time when that meant using multiple floppy disks; now it is much easier thanks to the options like those from Seagate.
How much storage do you need?
More than you think, is the short answer. If your data is mostly word files, pdfs, some image, for a small family or small business, then get 500 GB or 1 TB. This amount of storage is available in very small packages these days: like the Ultra Portable prize offered in this contest. Learn more about this prize in this article on the blog.
If you are a gamer and you need storage for huge game files, game downloads, or video files, then you need at least a couple terabytes and this contest has a 4TB prize that will serve your needs. I actually sent this product to Dave Neufeld for a review from a gamers viewpoint, and to Brad Moon for a review from a productivity viewpoint. Dave found that as a gamer, this was the ultimate epicenter of his gaming setup. Brad, however, suggested that you might not get the most from this unless you regularly managed large files, and had a computer capable of capitalizing on the high data transfer rates from the Firecuda.
So think about it: how much storage do you think you really need in your home? That’s the question to answer.
How to enter
Entering is easy but you can only enter once. In a comment below, tell us how much storage you think would be ideal in your home to backup data on your computers. Is 500GB enough or do you need a lot more?
What you can win
At the end of this contest we will draw two winners. One will win the 500GB One Touch SSD and the other will win the 4TB Seagate Firecuda Gaming Dock.
This contest runs from April 1st to April 15th.
Remember you can only enter once. However, you probably have a friends or perhaps someone in your family who should backup their data more often. Tell them about the contest so they too have a chance to win.
2 TB at least !
I need about 2tb
At least 2TB
I think 8Tb is what I need.
Need a lot more
I would definitely need a lot more than 500 GB! At least 4 TB!
500GB is not enough, 4T would be better
Obviously the more the merrier but I would say 1TB of space right now would be sufficient for my backup needs.
I think 8Tb is what I need.
4-6 TB
2 tb
4TB is ideal for me
500gb would suffice I don’t have too much storage, might use for ps4
I need a minimum of 10 TB
500gb for my computer and 4096 tb for my xboxone
4TB for me
I think 10TB would hopefully last me as long as I would need. It seems like we can always use more storage.
With higher resolution files out every day 500GB would not be able to hold your backups. The more the merrier!!!
4 TB would be great.-should hold everything that I will ever download..
I think 8 TB would be ideal.
We think 1 terrabyte is more than enough.
My kids would so much love this
At least 4 or 5 T would be ideal in my home to backup data on my computers. I would very much appreciate and make great use of the One Touch SSD and/ or the Seagate Firecuda Gaming Dock
2TB
Would probably need about 5TB
3 tb
We need about 3 TB right now, that changes all the time. Everything is stored.
Probably just 2 TB for us!
For a family, I would need nothing less than 2TB!
Just bought a 6 TB drive for files for my media server and swapped my PS4 Pro drive for a 2 TB hybrid SSD, so the more drive space, the better.
Thanks…
I believe for my whole household including my mother in law… We would need about 4 TB
Thanks!
About 5-10TB! 500GB is no where near enough for me.
I’d probably need a couple TB just for myself!
I’d probably need a few TB.
I think 2TB would be enough here!
2 TB of storage would be enough for me.
For the entire home? Probably about 4TB. 3tb for my PC, plus 1 for my wife’s.
I think 500 GB would be enough – I just want to back up my pictures. My documents are on a cloud as I change them so frequently.
I think I need the 4TB for my home
2TB – one for wife and one for me
1 TB will be adequate to save my work load
4TB so I can down load all our photo albums
1 TB for my contests
Judging from the 2TB I started using 2 years ago the 4TB will or should be good for a few more years. I love taking photos of flowers and videos. I would definitely use it for back up for all my data
Great for photos we have a ton of vacation pictures we need to save. 5GB is perfect!
1 TB would be ideal. Enough for my library of games + pictures and videos
Currently has 10TB and close to full. I would be much more comfortable with another 20TB
1 TB should be plenty for me to back things up
Back up for my photos, for sure.
With 5 kids. Having plenty of disk storage allows me to be more organized with the everlasting pictures and videos that evolves through our daily lifestyle. I like a larger storage to reduce all the added clutter and older hard drives, which builds up to accumulate into multiple disk storage drives. Want to keep things simple yet functional efficient.
