Fans of Microsoft’s Windows Phone mobile platform can be forgiven for feeling left out with the glut of new smartphone releases every fall. New iPhones, BlackBerries and Android phones are commonplace, but Windows? A little tougher to come by. However, Microsoft announced a new “affordable flagship” Lumia smartphone at IFA 2014 in September and the Nokia Lumia 830 is now finding its way into Canada. It sports the familiar colourful polycarbonate shell and a big 5-inch display at an affordable price point.

Since the release of the original wearable camera, GoPro has been a go-to for the outdoor action crew who want to capture videos of their wild exploits. GoPro has just announced the release of their latest batch of cameras under the name Hero4. This time last year they released two cameras in the Hero3+ range, and this time they’ve actually announced three different models; Hero, Hero4 Silver, and Hero4 Black.

They take video from your TV or DVR and stream it to your PC, tablet, or Smartphone. It lets you watch the TV programming from your cable or satellite box whenever you are away from home on your mobile device of choice.

Best Buy is making musical dreams come true in many ways.  First with their huge selection of instruments available anywhere in Canada online and in store.  Then there are the 6 Best Buy stores that offer guitar, piano and drum lessons. And finally they arranged a surprise for one of their drum students recently: the band “Theory of a Deadman” dropped in on his lesson at the Barrie Best Buy store. They offered a few tips and tricks and a whole lot of inspiration!
