Thinkware Dash Cams are easy to setup and use devices that deliver a wide range of benefits. Many people are aware that they could use the captured footage from a dash cam to help establish their innocence if they get into accident. However, they may not be aware of some of the other amazing benefits dash cams offer. You’ll find out for yourself how great these are if you read the information below before entering this contest. And if you enter this contest, you might win one of eight new Thinkware dash cams.

Thinkware dash cams are easy to use

I’ve sent Thinkware dash cams to various writers and there are a few commonalities across these reviews. First of all, they all found the installation and set up of the device extremely simple. For example, Dave Neufeld wrote, “Getting up and running with the Thinkware F70 Dashcam could scarcely be much easier.” In her review, Shelly Wutke said, “… it couldn’t have been easier.” Matt Paligaru explains how easy it is to install the front camera of the F200 he was sent then stated, “Installing the rear camera is just as easy.” And, after testing the F800 Brad Moon stated, “First up, installation of the dash cam was easy.”

See a pattern here? Multiple different independent reviewers, using different Thinkware dash cam models, all found that these are easy to set up. Furthermore, they all had no issues with using them as intended.

Why would you want a dash cam

Another commonality across all of these reviewers was what they saw as an important reason to get a dashcam: insurance claims. No one likes to be falsely accused of causing an accident. Dash cam footage has been used by many people to prove their innocence when the evidence was unclear or especially when the other party in the accident was not honest. Dash cam footage has also been used to help people get out of traffic tickets issued erroneously. “I didn’t go through a red light, officer; and, I can prove it!”

If you have teenagers, then a dash cam is a great motivator for them to driver responsibly: everything will be recorded and reviewed when the car is returned. Speaking of reviewing footage: you can also do this after a week of driving to help self-diagnose bad habits and become a safer driver youself.

Of course, you are likely familiar with one other benefit: capturing amazing or shocking events. I live on a tiny island, where the deer outnumber people 3 to 1, so I would likely capture a ton of footage of deer crossing the road if I had one. But YouTube has many examples of people capturing really cool footage like fireballs and meteorites—all thanks to owning a dashcam.

  1. Thinkware Q800PRO 2K QHD 1440p Dash Cam with Rear Camera & Hardwiring Cable looks good. It’s a good compromise for pricing and quality.

This would have been useful when the city’s maintenance crew threw rocks on my car and refused to take responsibility – because I didn’t have it captured on video.

  2. Thinkware Q800pro best dash cam to win. All the good stuffs and features with it. Makes vehicle looks serious.

  3. The Q800 Pro would be my first choice, with its high resolution. I would hope to capture footage absolving me of fault in any accident.

    • Professional truck driver the clarity of license plates very important day and night the F800 I think would be a very good accessory in my work

  4. I would pick the Q800 Pro. Aside from peace of mind, I would love to capture deer crossings if that happen by chance.

  5. Any model from thinkware will works for me. I had an accident in 2017 and my only witnessed is the dash cam.

  6. Think I would like this one as it captures both front and rear – Thinkware F200DG 1080p Dashcam & 720p Rear Camera with Wi-Fi & GPS- I hope to capture nothing if it means everyone is driving safely – or if anything – something that would help someone in need – Thanks so much

  7. Thinkware Q800PRO 2K Dashcam is my favourite because it has a nice sleek look. I would hope to see who has hit or damaged my when I am parked because I get lots of scratches on my car when it is left parked at work.

  8. I don’t know much about dash cams so any of these thinkware cameras would be a great prize to me. I’d love to feel safe when out and about in my vehicle and capture all that goes on around me

  9. We live beside a Provincial Park and with the Thinkware X700 Full HD 1080p Dash Cam & Rear Camera, I would hope to capture video of deer and other wildlife! Thanks for the chance! 🙂

  10. I would be very happy and grateful for any of them but the Q800 pro would be excellent – I love the option of the rear view camera. My teenagers are taking their road tests soon so this would be great to get them to adhere to the rules of the road!!

  11. The Q800 Pro would be a fantastic dash cam to win , but I would settle for any one of them. Thank you for the opportunity to win

  12. I have been looking at buying the Q800 Pro as I like the rear camera option and the hardwiring. As I drive the 401 everyday, there is no end to the things I could capture at any time. I love photography so this is taking it to a different level, thanks for the chance to win!!! Would be happy to win any of these cams.

  13. I’d love to win the Q800Pro model. I’d love to capture video that would help the authorities or help someone, whether that be assigning fault in a motor vehicle accident or otherwise. Thanks!

  14. Any dash cam would be great, but the Q800Pro looks especially good. High res screen and low light video capture would be really useful for prove things to insurance if there’s a dispute (i.e. rear ending)

  15. The q80pPro as I use my personal vehicle for work and travel from parking lot to parking lot so surveillance and rear view are huge benefits. Feeling safe for being on the road so much absolutely is important.

Years ago I was at a stop light and I felt a big bang. I looked behind and there was no car, and my foot was on the brake. What had happened is the person infront of me was learning to drive standard and somehow threw it in reverse. Luckily they were ok and damage to only their car so they just asked to leave it alone.

  16. Q800Pro would be the choice for me. Main reason is its main camera is 2K QHD video quality and has a secondary camera. Parking mode is a great added feature in case there is a hit and run.

  17. Going on an 7 hour road trip through Ontario this summer. Although my husband used to be a professional driver and although he is an exceptional driver, things can happen and with a X700, I would feel safer.

  18. Thank you Martin and Best Buy for another great contest….and this one is really one that can hit close to home for a lot of people, whether they’ve been in accidents or simply just close calls, or otherwise.

For me personally….I wouldn’t need anything “fancy”………just the “F70” would be just fine (at least to start out with anyway)….

As for what I’d hope to capture???……out where I live, it’s mostly the idiot drivers that, on rare occasions, have almost caused accidents right in front of me……..and if only I had video evidence to be able to give to police…..they could have possibly used that footage to look up licences, etc……and just so much more that goes on.

And not to mention it could also be used for my own defence if (forbid if anything were to happened)…..I were to get blamed for something I never did…., etc.

So yeah….certainly a very important item to had, not just a “toy”.

  19. To be honest, any dashcam is better than none. Then again, I hope I never have to use in the case of an accident.

    Thanks Martin & BB.

  20. My favourite dash cam is the Thinkware Q800PRO. It is an amazing resolution. I like it for capturing video in traffic mishaps.

  21. The Thinkware Q800PRO 2K Dashcam would definitely be a great choice for me. As a newer driver I feel it will help my insurance rates slightly. Also it will give me a more comfortable feeling incase anything happens.

  22. Q800Pro would be my choice. I live in a city of ted light runners & have seen so many near missed that it’s only a matter of time that something will happen

  23. I think the Thinkware X700 with screen, coupled with its optional rear view camera, would be a good option.
I would hope to capture just boring driving to where I want to get without incident – but if something happens…

  24. My favourite is the Q800Pro dashcam. I would like to capture any unusual events happening on the roads,

  25. My favourite is the Thinkware Q800PRO and would like to capture any kind of traffic issue as it would help me when not in the wrong and I would have proof.

  26. I really like the idea of the Thinkware F200DG 1080p Dashcam & 720p Rear Camera with Wi-Fi & GPS. I like that you can hard wire it (less cords!). The Red light feature is amazing and I love it has wifi. I’d love to use this for both safety of my car, but also, I do like seeing feeds of the crazy things people do!

  27. All seem excellent! My favourite is the Q800 pro. I hope to capture driving habits that I can improve on. Thank you!

  28. The Q800 Pro dash cam would be my choice to capture any incidents on our road trips this summer , you can’t be to careful and having the right dash cam makes the difference, especially having wifi.

  29. I like the Thinkware F800 1080p Dashcam with Super Night Vision & WiFi. I love the anti-file corruption technology protects your data. View and download video to your smartphone via built-in Wi-Fi. I hope I will capture anything that’s interesting on the road and not only the bad drivers.

  30. Coming from no dash cam, I like the Thinkware F70 Full HD 1080p Dashcam for the low profile mounting system. I think it would be fun to capture some crazy stuff – but more importantly just to have that added security on the road to catch people cutting me off!

  31. The Thinkware Q800Pro would be nice to capture footage at the track on the weekend too! No need to take out the GoPro for that!

  32. The Thinkware Q800PRO 2K QHD 1440p Dash Cam with Rear Camera & Hardwiring Cable looks like the rigth one for me, especially becaue of the hardwire cable. I want to make sure that no one ever does another “hit and run” on my car.

    • Been using a Viofo A119 for the pass year and it has saved me from accidental where other party claimed it was my fault. With the Q800pro, the rear camera would be a welcome addition since my camera is only one channel.

  33. The Q800 PRO would be amazing for my family. Provides that sense of security that I need in a device like this. I’ve been meaning to get a dash cam for so long but I didn’t consider thinkware until this review. Thanks Best Buy
