A firm believer in "you have to get old, but you don't have to grow up," I've been an unabashed lover of nerdy things for a good long while and don't plan to stop anytime soon. With experience on both sides of the video game, both as a consumer and a producer, and a love of the written word, I've managed to combine all three right here with the Plug-in blog

Ultra Street Fighter IV – Review

0

THE massively successful fighting game of most any generation it has existed in, Street Fighter’s current iteration, Street Fighter IV sparked a resurgence in fighting genre interest, unlike anything since the Mortal Kombat guys first started ripping off bits and pieces of one another. Constantly tested and pushed by its community, updates have long been a part of Street Fighter. Ultra this, Arcade Edition that, is it worth it?  In a word, yes.  In two, Oh heck yes. Ultra Street Fighter IV ladies and gentleman, lets fight.

Metro: Redux – Two Games, Lots of Bullets, and the End of the World.

0

Unfairly overlooked, the Metro series is a gripping, gritty, dark and brutal tale of surviving a hostile environment, in an unlikely place, and against all odds.  When things as simple as air and light are consumable resources that your life depends on, a certain amount of tension becomes a constant companion.  Monsters and badguys abount, darkness lay in all directions and safety is as precious and rare as gold.  Interested?  Well, if you like shooters, if you like a bit of horror, and especially if you like post apocalyptic wastelands, you should be.  Its Metro: Redux, re-packaging the two installments of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, a whole gang of improvements, and giving a healthy help up in the graphics department.

Improve your Gaming with Skullcandy Headphones – Review

0

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, I am a headphone convert.  Gone are the days when I slap any old thing over my ears and call that a listening experience. For the person who games or consumes other media on their consoles or PC’s, features like surround sound and wireless, quick access to a mic, or simply, a next level sound quality for whatever you’re watching or listening to, can make a big difference.I took a look at three of Skullcandy’s offerings in the Gaming Headphone market and the results were positive indeed.

Destiny – Bungie’s Next Big Game (and its big pre-order bonus!)

0

How many hours of game play, that’s both campaign and multiplayer by the way, would you say you’ve racked up in Halo? Personally, I couldn’t even guess.  ‘Combat Evolved’ truly was, it opened the gaming worlds eyes to what was possible, and changed things in a major way.  Lan parties gave way to real online multiplayer for the console and we haven’t looked back since.  So what do you do after having such a huge impact on our cultures favorite entertainment medium?  Do it again of course!  Enter Destiny, Bungie’s next big thing, and they want to give you a whole bunch of cool gear for pre-ordering (so let them).

WWE 2K15: Introducing your Pre-order bonus…. Sting!

0

A wild man in black and white, fighting for what’s right, Sting was to the WCW what guys like Brett Heart were to the WWE. How many imaginary matches have friends young and not so young pitted their WCW legend against a friend’s WWE Superstar in an imaginary clash of the titans, back and forth across the ring, the highs, the lows!  The two counts! Well the time has come wrestling fans. With WWE 2K15.

Review – ASTRO Gaming headsets (a trio of awesome!)

0

Chances are, you spend some time with some device or another plugged into your ear. Some of us (me included) don’t pay much attention to what that is, just so long as we can hear stuff.  I got the chance to spend some time with a trio of gaming headsets by ASTRO that completely changed my opinion on that front.  I found out that, when done properly, especially for the serious multiplayer gamer, the right set of headphones can really add a level of depth and immersion I’ve been missing out on all this time.

Review – LeTrax Teton, The Little Truck That Could (and does!)

0

I’ve had quite a time with my grubby little mitts behind the (RC) wheel of some very impressive machines. Previously the big boys, E-Maxx and E-Revo got some love and as incredible as those behemoths are, they have themselves a cool kid brother, LaTrax Teton.  A boss little 4WD monster truck, with a lotta gumption for a little guy, LeTrax Teton takes the conventional RC vehicle and leaps over it dramatically, spraying it with dirt and gravel as it leaves it in its dust.

Traxxas E-Maxx / E-Revo Brushless Edition – Review

Ever watch someone unveil their very serious and impressive RC vehicle – be it boat, plane, or four wheeled – and think, “man that looks so fun, those people are super cool?” Ok, so, maybe not that last part, but the first one is absolutely true. I was recently given a chance to play with some of these ultimate “Big Kid” toys. Powerful, awesome looking, wonderfully designed: I’m talking about the E-Maxx and E-Revo by Traxxas. Come on, let’s take a spin.
