In what might be a case of just the right product at just the right time, Samsung has announced it’s producing a 4K QLED outdoor TV and soundbar, made to withstand Canadian weather. The launch of the new Samsung Terrace 4K QLED Outdoor TV and Terrace sound bar comes as many of us have been spending a lot more time in our homes and fighting boredom. We can more easily maintain physical distancing when we gather outside. You’ll be able to invite friends over to watch the game or a movie more safetly on your deck or patio.
Meet Samsung Terrace 4K Outdoor TV
“With new lifestyle habits continuing to evolve, Canadians are using screens to work from home, exercise using online platforms, and connect with friends and family. We believe screens should also be evolving in line with these lifestyle changes,” said Pat Bugos, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Home Entertainment, Samsung Canada. “As the latest addition to our Lifestyle TV portfolio, The Terrace transcends the connected living room to the outdoors by delivering on incredible innovation and immersive viewing experiences.”
What’s the promise of Samsung Terrace TV? You’ll get ultra bright video quality in an outdoor TV designed to battle the sun’s brightness, plus it’s a smart TV that’s weather resistant. With an IP55 rating, this means the Terrace is protected against dust getting inside, and against low pressure jets of water from all directions. In other words it can handle rain, but you probably don’t want to blast the hose on it.
Available in 55, 65 and 75-inch models, The Terrace is designed to integrate into your outdoor living space and comes fitted for easy installation in many outdoor applications.
Samsung Terrace TV: Winter temp specs
Naturally, any good Canadian will want to know what happens in the winter. The Terrace’s operating specs say it’s able to operate outdoors in temperatures from -30 to about 50°C. While you likely won’t be watching hockey in your parka outside in January, this just means the TV can survive harsh conditions.
Terrace designed to battle brightness
If you’re watching outdoors in the daytime, you’ll know you’re fighting with a solar furnace as an ambient light source. The Terrace lets you enjoy QLED picture quality you expect from an indoor Samsung TV and it also boasts an anti-refection feature, making your content bright and clear even on a bright sunny day. Plus the Adaptive Picture option provides four viewing conditions (dark, normal, bright, very bright) analyzing various outdoor light conditions and optimizing brightness and contrast for the screen and your personal use conditions.
Samsung Ambient Mode beautifies your backyard
The Terrace also has Ambient Mode, so you can get your TV to double as an artful backdrop when it’s not in use.
Samsung Terrace Sound bar also launched
What good is a great quality TV without great sound? Samsung launched the Terrace outdoor sound bar alongside the TV.
Samsung says the Terrace Soundbar delivers high-quality sound and a deep and clear bass from its built-in woofers, and that it boasts distortion-cancelling technology. The Terrace Soundbar has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing it to be paired with The Terrace TV and other devices.
Like the TV, the Terrace Soundbar features adaptive sound mode to integrate int your outdoor space and conditions, offering clear, rich sound, regardless of the content being played. Also like the TV, the sound bar is IP55 rated.
