This summer, Nintendo has been relativity quiet in regards to the fall and beyond Switch game lineup. Today, that silence was broken with a Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase video presentation. Today’s Nintendo Direct Mini focused on several games coming from third party publishers and developers.
Though it was only a 10 minute presentation, Nintendo assured us that more Partner Showcase presentations are scheduled for the upcoming months. Let’s take a look at all the news and announcements from today’s show!
Cadence of Hyrule DLC Packs
The show opened up with news that Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer is getting three paid DLC packs, with the first pack launching today. Here’s a breakdown on what each pack will offer:
- Pack 1: Character Pack – Five additional characters are added to the game. These include Impa, who excels in ranged attacks with the Naginata weapon, and Aria, perfect for players who like a challenge, join the game’s cast.
- Pack 2: Melody Pack – This pack includes 39 songs including remixed versions of the game’s background music. Additionally, you can change the background music at any time, which means you can listen to your favourite songs at any time.
- Pack 3: Additional Story Content – The third and final DLC pack contains a new story, Symphony of the Mask. Play as the mysterious Skull Kid who possesses the power to change abilities based on the masks he wears as you venture through a new map complete with new songs.
Finally, we learned that a physical version of Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer complete with all three DLC packs will launch later this year on October 23, 2020.
WWE 2K Battlegrounds
Next up, we saw footage of WWE 2K Battlegrounds. This all-new, over-the-top, arcade style wrestling game allows you to play as your favourite WWE Superstars and Legends. Launching on September 18, 2020 this game is geared towards both casual gamers and long-time wrestling fans with easy to pick-up-and-play multiplayer fun!
The upcoming third-person online multiplayer shooter from First Watch games, Rogue Company, was announced for the Nintendo Switch. What’s really interesting is that the game features cross-platform play and cross-save from day one along with support for motion-controlled aiming. Rogue Company features both competitive and casual game modes, along with the ability to play against AI opponents.
Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster
In a surprise announcement, ATLUS revealed that the classic game Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne is getting a full high-definition remake. It’s been 17 years since the game was first released. And, it’s making its way onto the Nintendo Switch in Spring of 2021.
Shin Megami Tensei V
Today’s Nintendo Mini Direct closed out with some exciting news. We learned that the next entry in the beloved RPG series, Shin Megami Tensei series is coming. And it’s coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch! Furthermore, we learned that Shin Megami Tensei V is simultaneously launching worldwide in 2021!
