The Nintendo Switch family of systems is growing with a brand new member. Mark your calendars for October 8, 2021 because that’s when the newest Nintendo Switch launches, Nintendo Switch OLED model. This brand-new model gives you yet another way to enjoy your favourite Nintendo Switch games.
New features and enhancements
The first thing you’ll instantly notice about the Nintendo Switch OLED model is that it has a larger screen. It comes with a 7-inch OLED screen, which means the display offers more vibrant and vivid colours with a crisp contrast when compared to the LCD screen in the other two Nintendo Switch models.
Additionally, the Nintendo Switch OLED model comes with a wide adjustable stand for tabletop mode. This is a big improvement over the Nintendo Switch’s stand that is fairly narrow and sometimes not that sturdy. Furthermore, this brand-new model comes with a new dock that has a wired ethernet port for greater internet stability and speed. Other new features and upgrades include 64GB of internal storage versus the 32GB internal storage that comes with the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite. And, the Nintendo Switch OLED model comes with enhanced audio for handheld and tabletop play.
Two colour options to choose from
The Nintendo Switch OLED model will come in two colour options:
- Nintendo Switch OLED model white set, which features white Joy-Con controllers, a black main unit and a white dock.
- Nintendo Switch OLED model neon red/neon blue set, which features neon red and neon blue Joy-Con controllers, a black main unit and a black dock.
Experience the enhancements of the Nintendo Switch OLED
Just like the Nintendo Switch, this brand-new model allows players to play their favourite games in three different modes:
TV mode: Set the system into the dock to play Nintendo Switch games on the TV. By using the built-in wired LAN port, players can enjoy another way to connect online in TV mode.
Tabletop mode: Flip the stand on the back of the system and use the system’s screen to play multiplayer games using two Joy-Con controllers right out of the box. A wide adjustable stand makes for a solid and sturdy foundation. It allows players to freely tilt the system and adjust the viewing angle, so it makes it easier to see the screen.
Handheld mode: Players can bring the Nintendo Switch OLED model wherever they go in handheld mode and play their favourite games using the system’s 7-inch OLED screen.
