Summer Game Fest 2025

Summer is finally here! Geoff Keighley hosted Summer Game Fest 2025. Every year, this video game festival presents a plethora of announcements and exclusive world premiere videos. For the occasion, we were treated to some eagerly awaited announcements. Exclusive images for Mafia: The Old Country were presented, as well as additional content for Lies of P with the Overture expansion, available since this Friday! Last year, several games did not have an official release date. This year, the titles I am presenting to you are coming soon. Here is what caught our attention at Summer Game Fest 2025.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach

Kojima Productions/PlayStation Studios

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach

Developed by Hideo Kojima’s team, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is coming at the end of the month! To mark the occasion, director Hideo Kojima presented an impressive cinematic trailer for the game featuring actors Luca Marinelli and Alissa Jung. His goal was to make the video game more realistic than ever, and from what we’ve seen, it looks like he’s succeeded.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be released on June 26 on PlayStation 5.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

Leenzee/505 Games

Wuchang Fallen Feathers

Developed by Chinese studio Leenzee, this “soulslike” game follows the pirate Wuchang on an adventure set during the chaotic final years of the Ming dynasty. A strange phenomenon known as the Feathering causes mutations in the people and other creatures inhabiting the lands of Shu. Our heroine must battle cruel enemies who are too powerful for most. With combat that can be customized to suit your play style, you’ll be able to defeat even the toughest opponents. Moves combine melee strikes, spells, and weapon techniques. Different combat styles, hidden weapons, ancient firearms, and the very power of Feathering will help you forge your destiny through flesh and blood to the truth.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers will be released on July 24 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Sonic Racing CrossWorlds

Sonic Team/SEGA

Sonic Racing CrossWorlds

SEGA has always had a fast-paced racing game. For Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, renowned guest characters are making their debut on the track. If you watched the Summer Game Fest trailer, you will have recognized Hatsune Miku, Joker (my favorite character from Persona 5), and Itchiban Kasuga from the Yakuza: Like a Dragon series, for example.

As Takashi Iisuka confirmed on stage, Sonic Racing CrossWorlds will feature cross-platform online play. All players, regardless of platform, will be able to join together in twelve-player games. The game includes twenty-three characters from the Sonic family. Twenty-four tracks are spread across fifteen “CrossWorlds” (interconnected worlds) accessible via Sonic’s famous rings, which act as dimensional portals in this game.

Sonic Racing CrossWorlds will be released for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 25.

Resident Evil: Requiem

Capcom

Resident Evil: Requiem

Capcom pulled out all the stops to end this Summer Game Fest 2025 presentation. The ninth installment in the main Resident Evil series was revealed. Resident Evil: Requiem stars new FBI agent Grace Ashcroft. Investigating missing persons cases, her work leads her back to the place where her mother, Alyssa, was murdered.

This introduction reminds me of what we recognize in a franchise scenario. And seeing that the tradition continues with characters linked to previous titles makes me even more eager to find out more. Especially since the name Grace Ashcroft raises questions for those who have played Resident Evil Village. We’ve only seen a cinematic from Resident Evil: Requiem, but visually, it looks flawless. The series is entering a new era.

Resident Evil: Requiem is scheduled for release on February 27, 2026, on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

With more than forty announcements, it’s safe to say that Summer Game Fest is kicking off the summer season in style for gamers.
