Today, EA announced that EA Sports NHL 21 is skating its way onto the Xbox One and PS4 this October. Additionally, we learned that Alex Ovechkin, one of the most influential hockey players in the sport today, will grace this year’s game cover.
This year, NHL 21 has a revamped Be A Pro experience, expanded creative gameplay, a new Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT) RUSH, and brand-new World of CHEL additions.

Overhauled Be A Pro mode
NHL fans will be happy to know that NHL 21 includes an overhauled Be A Pro mode, which delivers a fresh feel to the franchise. These changes enhance EA Sports NHL 21‘s narrative by giving players the chance to live the life of an NHL player, both on and off the ice.
Players can work their way from the bottom up by going early on draft day and impressing the front office by earning a spot on the first line.
Gameplay enhancements
Additionally, NHL 21 includes gameplay enhancements that are smarter, faster and a whole lot flashier with innovative moves and massive improvements on both sides of the puck. You can impress the front office and fans with slips, banks and chips, while pulling off some of the most recognizable superstar-inspired moves.
However, it won’t be easy to put the puck in the net as goalie positioning and control have been improved. This means that goalies adapt to the game’s skill level faster than ever before with brand-new desperation moves and animations.
HUT goes to the next level
HUT, the game mode that allows you to create your fantasy lineup of NHL players, alumni, and icons, and compete with them online, goes to the next level HUT RUSH. Essentially, this is a streamlined version of HUT.
It allows you to jump into HUT games quickly, rack up achievements, and unlock rewards by scoring with style. The scoring system rewards skill and creativity, which means that HUT RUSH will provide plenty of cannot miss moments.
World of CHEL and Franchise Mode see exciting updates
Next, in World of CHEL, there are new Ranked Seasons that allow you to compete across each of the four modes and allow you to earn rewards and play in the new EASHL Club Finals. As a result, player and team success will be rewarded with unique gear, items and vanity sets to flaunt domination.
Additionally, NHL 21‘s Franchise Mode adds an exciting experience for one of the most important events of the season, the Trade Deadline. NHL 21 puts the heat on players of the approaching deadline with real-time updates. Just like the real trade deadline, the market value of players will fluctuate as the day goes on. And, live trade alerts will move rapidly via the trade deadline ticker.
