Not all TVs are created equal. If you’re looking for a new television, one of the first things you will need to consider is the display type you would like to get. From OLED to QLED to Mini-LED, each display type leverages a different technology to produce the best results possible—each with its strengths and weaknesses. For example, while OLED TVs are notorious for producing the deepest black, Mini-LED TVs can’t be outshined in bright rooms. 

Samsung offers a wide range of TVs, including LED TVs, QLED TVs, OLED TVs, and Mini-LED TVs that leverage the latest technologies available so you can find the best one for your needs and budget. Some things that might be helpful to keep in mind as you’re looking at your options are: where you will place the television, what type of content you will watch, and how big you would like the display to be. Depending on your answers, you might find that one display type stands out and is better suited for your home theatre than others. 

Should you get an 8K television? 

Another key consideration when shopping for a new television is resolution. Resolution refers to the number of pixels that make up the image. In recent years, 4K TVs have become increasingly popular but the next generation of TVs is already here. 8K TVs such as the Samsung Neo QLED TV we are giving away in this contest boast a resolution of 7680 x 4320 and use four times as many pixels as 4K TVs. On-screen, those numbers translate to even sharper and more detailed images.

However, there’s a but … for now, at least. While 8K TVs are available, most content on streaming platforms is currently either 1080p or 4K, which means that you won’t be able to watch 8K content on your 8K screen. Is it worth getting an 8K TV then? Maybe! An 8K display comes with benefits that may make the scales tip in its favour. For one, 8K TVs can upscale the content you watch to make it as close to 8K as possible so you can enjoy the best image quality possible. For up to two (2) additional entries, create a public post on a social media channel (one entry per channel!) sharing with your friends and followers that you are entering a Best Buy blog contest for a chance to win a Samsung Neo QLED 65″ 8K TV; include the hashtag #BestBuySamsungContest, so we can find your post, and include one of the pictures showing on this article. Then return here and tell us in a comment below on which channel you posted it and the name of your channel (since many people use pseudonyms) so that we can check and verify your entry. You can use any social media channel (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.), but the post must be public so we can verify it is there.

    I love the brightness and the contrast between the colors. That TV makes everything look amazing!
    The 8K feature I like is that it is good for both dark and light rooms. My living room has big windows and it is very bright during the day, but at nighttime, we like to have the lights off while watching our favorite programs.

  24. I believe the best feature offered by 8K TVs is upscaling. Considering that gaming consoles and streaming platforms still do not fully support 8K resolution, upscaling will definitely improve my gaming and viewing experience until 8K is natively supported.

It’s QLED, the right size for my room, it’s sleek and I absolutely love that it transforms to display art work when not being used for viewing.

    I like that it has Four HDMI 2.1 input ports and takes away the guess work on which one to plug in your console too, and can have multiple next gen consoles plugged in without having to switch hdmi cables

    Then from the 8k article, I enjoy that 8k tv can be viewed in any light setting, I am always a victim of light glare in my living room

  41. I’d like to have a TV that will shine in bright or dark rooms. Some TVs seem to lack brightness and colour when the sun is shining through the window in the room that the TV is in.
