Parties are good for your overall health

I’m no doctor, and although I’ve seen my share of TED Talks, I’ll ask you to please take my findings with a grain of salt. But in my 32 years on this planet, one thing seems more and more evident: A happy life = better health. Now, there are a multitude of components that comprise a happy life, but the more I read the literature and watch the videos, I’m convinced that one event combines more than a couple of these components: a party. My definition of party, by the way, is two or more people coming together for the purpose of enjoying food, entertainment, and each other’s company. I’m not just talking about a 20-hour group rager, although I don’t disapprove of those kinds of get-togethers either (in moderation.)

Here’s why I believe parties are good for your health:

  1. Social: Loneliness creates mental health issues and impacts longevity. A party isn’t just about letting loose, it’s a ritual of belonging: people come together to connect with and be a part of their community.
  2. Music: Music changes your perspective and transforms your mood. It improves your blood circulation and lowers your levels of stress-related hormones, such as cortisol. Music also strengthens emotional regulation and promotes benefits in attention and memory.
  3. Dancing: Not just a great cardiovascular workout, dancing is like a visit to the gym—but fun! Dancing strengthens bones and muscles, improves balance, and even staves off illnesses. You don’t have to be a phenomenal dancer to reap the benefits, you just have to move your body to the beat!
A good party doesn’t have to incorporate all three of these components, but a great party usually does. All you need is a select soundtrack and a speaker that pumps out the playlists with enough power to do each song justice. That’s where Charge 4 enters the narrative.

JBL Charge 4 makes a good time great

Charge 4 is just the ticket for planned parties, impromptu get-togethers, and chillaxing hangouts. It pairs with your smartphone for wireless Bluetooth streaming, and can even connect to another smartphone at the same time, so you can share DJ responsibilities with a friend. A specialized driver and dual bass radiators deliver full spectrum sound that immerses everyone in the anthems that are sure to get them moving and having a great time.
Charge 4 is made to go where you go. Think about it. It’s easier to bring great audio to the people than to bring the people to great audio, which means portable speakers like Charge 4 make it easier than ever to get a great party started. Gentle handling is fine, but Charge 4 has Keith-Richards-like longevity. This road dog will survive the rough-and-tumble of an on-the-go lifestyle filled with parties in different places. It can even withstand a plunge in the pool or having a glass of water thrown in its face!
Twenty hours of playtime means this Bluetooth speaker also possesses enough stamina to go the distance at one of those non-stop ragers I mentioned earlier. And because all our music is accessed on our smartphones these days, JBL Charge 4 works double duty as a power bank, so you can connect your phone via USB and charge while your songs play.
You can sync up to 100 JBL speakers when you want to amp up the sound to epic proportions, so if any of your friends own a JBL speaker that’s Connect+ enabled, ask them to bring it along. Now you’ve got a great party on your hands!

  1. My 6 year old daughter and I love to dance. The JBL speaker would allow us to bring the music with us wherever we go so we can dance to our favourite tunes.

  2. Music has always been important to me and a part of our family. We had dancers in our family so there was always music in my life. The JBL Charge 4 can enhance music because it’s easy to install and my friends can share their
    play lists!

  3. Music is wonderful because it sets the mood and gets everyone moving. Music is a language on its own and typically makes everyone happy and is a wonderful way to share time socializing.

  4. The JBL Charge 4 can save a party more than a deranged Tatar with a pair of double jointed shoulders and a penchant for dancing the Hopak and a bottle maple infused Screech. Just add friends – thus, “social” is the essential ingredient.

  5. Tough choice, but I will say music is the most important component for me and the JBL Charge 4 speaker can make it sound great!

  6. I love to dance but without good music, the party is a failure. Having the speaker will help get the party going.

  7. MUSIC – I would pick music. When there is good music being played it helps create great ambiance and sets the environment for people to enjoy the party. I think JBL Charge 4 accomplishes that. : )

  8. definitely music will be what JBL charge 4 can enhance my go to for constant music availability …

  9. Music. It creates the ambiance and mood of the occasion. It also entertains and fills up those moments in between when everybody is just quiet or gathered in small groups.

  10. Dancing is the most important but that being said it and music go hand in hand. The JBL Charge 4 would allow me to party in any room in the house

  11. Music is a must in my house!! I love listening to it during the day!! It helps me to do my tasks & helps me to relax!!

  12. The JBL Charge 4 could definitely enhance the music at my parties to get everyone up and moving.

  13. Just picked up a Bluetooth record player and this would aide in bringing music to the outdoors.

  14. Music We spend so much time on deck entertaining this would be a great upgrade. Sound would be awesome and convenient when visiting friends.

  15. Music would be my top pick! It tells a story how truly it truly it changed and evolved in years and even if it wasn’t your era you lived in you still get to enjoy and feel the times it was in! There’s always such a story and memory behind every music. Like from what my parents listened to like Beegees and Bread and how they dancing with that music in the disco. To what my wife’s parents listened to like Tom Petty of how they went to a concert of him the 70’s. And my wife’s love for hip-hop, and how she wanted to see a concert of Kris Kross but she was only 9 at that time. And my love for the 90’s grunge and realizing now how most of those songs are very emo effect. Now I want to share these to my own future kids and my nieces and nephews too, and that they can also broaden their like for music as much as I have too!
