A few years ago Google rocked my world by releasing the first version of Google Chromecast. I loved it! It turned any television into a smart TV, instantly … and for an amazingly low price. Since then, the whole chromecast ecosystem has become more extensive and useful. I use my original chromecast every day and I can’t wait to try the newest version, now with a great Google TV interface. Read on to learn more and to find out how to enter for a chance to win one.

Chromecast changed TV watching forever

Casting from my phone to my TV still feels magical. I’ve been doing it for several years using a Google Chromecast and it amazes me how easy, effortless, and predictable casting is. Few technologies promise so much from such a tiny device and deliver beyond expectation consistently as well as a Chromecast.

And the Chromecast experience keeps getting better. At first there were only a few things we could cast: Netflix was the most important! Then Prime became available and other apps. This summer I casted NHL games from the CBC sports app. The video and audio were fantastic.

Google improved on perfection with the new Chomecast with Google TV

I rarely use superlatives for the obvious reason that few things are “always” or “never” a certain way. For example, some people say it’s always raining in Vancouver … no, it’s not! However, I can say I am always happy with my Chromecast. I rely on it for almost all of my TV viewing. It’s technology at its best because it does what I expect it to do, every time.

That’s why I can’t wait to try the new Chromecast with Google TV. This new version has a remote that you can talk to via Google Assistant integration. The remote adds more funcationality to Chromecast since you won’t have to use your phone at all if don’t want to. Also new is an interface on the television that simplifies the process of finding series you are watching or new shows you want to watch. You can read more about the new features of this device on this announcement article we posted on the blog a couple weeks ago.

Win a Google Chromecast with Google TV Contest Rules and Regulations

Good luck.

  1. Chromecast has a remote now?? That’s awesome! I have a very old model that I constantly have to “reset” the old unplug/replug and and am due for an upgrade. I would watch every documentary I have listed on my My List.

  2. I love how you can cast directly without the need to go into an app to start casting. Also, controlling it using your phone or the nest or a remote or just your voice is an added comfort.

  3. I LOVE the Google Chromecast…and love that you can stream more than netflix and youtube on this new device. I would find a new show to binge watch if I won.

  4. This sounds so cool – we definitely don’t have a smart TV though we do have a few google mini’s scattered around the house!

  10. I love that it is cutting technology! It’s amazing to read what a small and compact device can do. I’m intrigued by the remote addition to this technology as we have an older tv with 3 bulky remotes.

  11. I would love to cast from my phone to my TV! Sometimes you find a great YouTube channel while mindlessly browsing on your phone… and you just wish you could cast it to your TV and watch it on the big screen!

  12. I love that the Google Chromecast has powerful streaming capabilities so I can stream a lot of shows without any connection issues. If I won this I’d love to watch the new Unsolved Mysteries on Netflix.

  14. Love chromecast, and we currently have the 1st gen. I’d use it to stream the usual suspects, netflix, disney+ but i’d also cast my kids google classroom everyday so they can see their friends a little better than staring at a small screen all day.

    Thanks for the chance.

  15. I love being able to stream my photos from google photos onto the tv so everyone can see them. I can’t wait to stream Schitt’s creek on Netflix.
