DJI drones are versatile for photography and really fun to fly. Their newest model, the DJI Mavic Air 2, can film in 4K at 60 frames per second! That is seriously amazing. It can reach amazing heights, speeds, and distances, so it’s much more than a toy. However, when used responsibly it elevates your senses—you’ll feel like you’re a bird in the sky! Read more about the newest drone in the DJI family, then enter for a chance to win the demo model that we had reviewed on the blog.

What can you do with a drone

A drone is more than just a flying camera. It does fly; and it has a camera. But fly a drone and suddenly you realize this is a very unique experience. First there is the feeling of lift-off—you’ll never forget that surge of excitement. Remember you are in control, elevating, tilting, drifting to the left and right. There is a learning curve, but it’s not steep; quickly you adjust your perspective to react appropriately to capture the bird’s eye view of your surroundings. If you are able to use it near your home, you’ll will gain a new appreciation for the world around you. For me, rising about ten metres above my house allowed me to capture a view of several gulf islands including Saltspring and Pender.

DJI packs their drones with amazing features

With the new DJI Mavic Air 2, you will be able to do so much more than you might think from the moment you turn it on. It is so easy to use. We sent the prize for this contest to Shelly to test it out and she was amazed that she instantly was able to capture smooth, professional looking videos, right out of the box. Watch her video to see some of the images of her farm taken with the drone.

Shelly shows what’s included with the drone, how to assemble the drone, and offers some tips on how to fly it. She also speaks to many of the unique features that enable you to do some really interesting things with simple menu selections. I love the Helix Quickshot function!

The Mavic Air 2 has many features to help you get the most from flying it. It can even help you find safe flying areas near your home. This is very important; you will want to be sure about what areas near you allow drones and if there are maximum height restrictions too. You should read Shelly’s article for a more in-depth descripton of some of the key features that she tested. Be sure to return to this page to learn what you need to do to enter our contest.

  1. I would really like to try out the auto-take off, auto-land, and automatic return to home point on low battery. I’ve never flown a drone before so this feature would really make things easy for me and my family. I can already see many memories to make with this drone

  2. I’m currently booked for a big trip around Europe for 2021. I’ve been researching drones for quite some time now, as I want to be able to capture moments while travelling the world. I was going to go with the DJI mini as the Mavic Air 2 was out of my price range, even though it is my first choice. I came across this article while researching products and noticed the opportunity to potentially win one! I really love the idea of having a drone that can really capture the entire shot, which is what originally drew me in to the Mavic Air 2. The maximum speed and distance is something I would definitely love to play around with while adventuring. I also love the idea of it being beginner/all levels friendly because it will allow newcomers (like me) the opportunity to learn while having a product that can produce such a great picture!

  3. I’m looking for a new and exciting hobby and think learning to fly this drone would be so much fun. Looking forward to having the chance!

  4. I am a drone beginner, lol, so for me the auto take off and landing features are a big sell – I also love all of the different photo and video resolution options this product offers! Light weight, and 34 minutes of battery life are also great assets!

  5. I used to own the Mavic Pro and the battery live was never long enough to go far and get those crazy mountain shots that I wanted – now with that extended 30 minute battery life, I’ll feel comfortable taking it places that I was never brave enough to before.

  6. I have never flown a drone before and I believe that this is the perfect drone for a beginner, even with all it’s fabulous super-charged advanced features! The auto-pilot assistance system that lets the drone create a its own path around, over, or under obstacles is just one of the features that would give me confidence flying for a drone for the first time. I love that you can plug your phone into the drone and use an app to connect. The different flight modes, photo/video modes and maximum speeds and distance will allow the advanced user to be keen on flying!

  7. I’m stoked about the 4K resolution video – this would be so amazing for my travels and gives such a unique way to capture a destination!

  8. The drone itself, i like to take it during my hikes to have a different perspective and share it to the world 🙂

  9. I was up very late last night watching You Tube videos of this exact Drone! This is the Drone to beat all other Drone’s in it’s price range. Beautiful compact design, the Mavic Air 2, by DJI is hand’s down the first choice of discerning unmanned pilot’s everywhere!

  10. I can’t wait to try Activetrack 3.0 that way I can let the Mavic Air 2 get some cool boating, waterskiing, and tubing shots!

  11. I would love to try the auto follow when we go biking, of course with the obstacle avoidance feature on.

  12. I would use the drone to scout areas that are hard to reach, I want to try the shot tracker feature

  13. It would be amazing to be able to take high resolution images of the scenic ocean and mountain views near me.

  14. Love to try the 4K camera. And autotake off and landing. Allowing a long life for the drone!

  15. Let’s be honest here, the shots that you can take with the drone are just amazing. If I could get my hand on a drone I would love to take landscape picture while hiking and try different angle, lighting and much more

  16. Really excited for 60fps. Will be able to slow down even more and for urban shots of the city it would be amazing to slow down footage of pedestrians and vehicles.

  17. I would like to see how this drone handles in the air, how well it keeps horizon and how well it performs as far as video quality compared the the rest of my fleet.

  18. I am keen to be able to finally fly something as stable as this. I want to see the auto follow control. I am no rockstar pilot and need all the help I can get. The camera also looks awesome.

  19. Higher resolution pictures and video for sure. The tripod mode seems intriguing and may allow for even better quality landscape photos. Being in real estate quality is important.

  20. I would love to try the low lighting features for 4K follow videography and self take off/landing features would be a delight to work with

  21. I’m excited to see the brilliant images and videos this drone can produce. The 1080/240fps will be interesting

  22. I would love this to take videos of our farm and to explore along the Assiniboine River near us-there are beavers living somewhere and it would be cool to find the dam and watch them.
