Facebook PortalIn these unprecedented times, it’s more important than ever to keep in touch with your colleagues, friends, family, and loved ones—and Facebook Portal was designed just for that purpose. Like many of us, you’re probably spending the majority of your time at home right now. You might be juggling the kids, the cats, and the dogs while you’re trying to work from home, or perhaps you’re spending your days watching oodles of Netflix and playing the hottest Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One games. (Maybe all of the above?) Enter this contest and, if you win, you’ll be able to spend more time connecting with the people you work with or the people you love: the prize is three Facebook Portal devices.

Face-to-face communications always give you that extra something

Sure, you could send an email. But isn’t it nice to see someone’s face light up when you say hello? That’s backed up by science. One of the world’s foremost experts on human communication, Professor Albert Mehrabian’s famed “7-38-55 rule of personal communication” breaks human interactions down to a general ratio of 7% verbal, 38% tone of voice, and 55% body language. That means your facial expressions, gestures, and other movements can make up more than half of your message!

Facebook Portal keeps you in close contact with your colleagues

Perhaps you’re operating a small office, or you have a few major clients for your freelance gig. Sometimes a giant back-and-forth email thread isn’t the most efficient way to get things done. Whether you’re separated by a few streets—or more than a few time zones, you can stay in touch just like you would in a face-to-face meeting by using Facebook Portal. As long as they’ve got Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp, they can link up for video calls, and you’ll be working like never before.

Facebook Portal is also great for keeping in touch with family and friends

Lots of people love Facebook Portal because they can make live video calls to friends and family, display their photos, and more. With more families and friends in different places around the globe, it’s more important than ever to stay in touch. So pop online just to say hi to your best friend, or read stories to your nieces, nephews, or grandchildren. And when you’re not using the device, Facebook Portal has a feature so it can double as a picture frame to display all your favourite Facebook and Instagram photos. How great is that?

How to enter

Entering this contest is easy, but you can only enter once. First, read our reviews of Facebook Portal and Facebook Portal Mini, and our review of Facebook Portal TV. Then, in a comment on this article, tell us one feature you love about Facebook Portal and who you’ll be keeping in contact with the most.

What you can win

At the end of the contest, we’ll select one winner to receive a Portal bundle that includes one Facebook Portal, one Facebook Portal Mini, and one Facebook Portal TV. Keep one for yourself and send the others to the people you want or need to keep in contact with most.

This contest runs from March 31st to April 16th.

Remember, you can only enter once, but you probably know someone else who would love to see the smiling faces of their colleagues, family, and friends all the time. Let them know about this contest so they too have a chance to win—and make their day!

  1. That it doubles as a picture frame. I would use it so my kids could keep in contact with their grandparents.

  2. The 7 user communication ability would let me talk to my daughters and grands .. Getting so lonely to keep safe.

  3. Agreaet feature is the ability to host group chats with up to 7 people, and I’d use it to keep in touch with family and friends that are out of town

  4. I like that you can connect 7 users at once and I would use this to video chat I’d keep in touch with my mom and grandparents

  5. I like that you can connect 7 users at once and I would use this to video chat with my family who are all in a different province.

  6. My favourite feature is the ability to make video calls. This would be great for my kids to be able to call and talk to my sister and Grandparents who live on the other side of the country.

  7. Fav about the Facebook Portal is a feature so it can double as a picture frame to display all your favourite Facebook and Instagram photos, will keep contact with dad

  8. I like the feature of adapting to the lighting quality in the room. I would keep in touch with my mom who lives in another province.

  9. Slowly building up my smart home. This would be great for keeping in touch with family across Canada right now.

  10. I would love to be able to stay in contact with my dad, who lives up North, so he can watch his grandchildren growing up.

  11. I like that Facebook Portal acts as a photo frame when not in use so you can see photos of your loved ones all the time. Which is such an important reminder right now of what’s important! This is such an amazing prize pack! My sister just had her first baby in February so my neice is only a month and half old and I can’t see her or hold her. Videochat is my only way of seeing her, talking to her and watching her grow. I use my phone to Facetime but the portal would be so much better to be able to see them on a much bigger screen! Thanks so much for the chance to win!

  12. The feature that I like is that I can connect with 6 other users to have a total of 7 people and have a chat. I would love to connect with my children and have some meaningful family time.

  13. Ability to connect to WhatsApp. Keep in touch with Mom and Dad during these isolation times as well as hangouts with friends.

  14. In this time of isolation it’s really changing the ways in which we communicate with friends, loved ones, and colleagues. That’s why inventions like Facebook portal are more crucial now than ever before. I love how it’s able to join 7 people in conversation at once and gives crisp clear video feeds so we can have conversations as if we were all in the same room. Nice move Facebook 😉

  15. I would use this to keep in touch with my two nephews who live several hours away from me. The Story Time AR sounds amazing and I’d have to give a Portal device to them too so we could use it!

  16. I like connecting seven users and will use it for my baseball team and exclude the pitcher and catcher as they are too pretentious anyways.

  17. I’m not a big fan of Facebook and I have no account, so I don’t know if I could use this. No family members are on FB either. Dunno if this can do Skype. Thanks though…

  18. Would love the face to face communication especially in this covid 19 times! We haven’t been able to visit our family members and my kids are missing their grandparents!

  19. This is awesome, I would love it for video chatting with family! I would give one to my sister and another to a family member who is handicapped and struggles with communication. This would be such a blessing! Fingers crossed!

  20. Allows 7 uses to have group chat to allow at least 6 of us kids to call our Dad so he doesn’t have to venture out during COVID-19
