Facebook PortalIn these unprecedented times, it’s more important than ever to keep in touch with your colleagues, friends, family, and loved ones—and Facebook Portal was designed just for that purpose. Like many of us, you’re probably spending the majority of your time at home right now. You might be juggling the kids, the cats, and the dogs while you’re trying to work from home, or perhaps you’re spending your days watching oodles of Netflix and playing the hottest Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One games. (Maybe all of the above?) Enter this contest and, if you win, you’ll be able to spend more time connecting with the people you work with or the people you love: the prize is three Facebook Portal devices.

Face-to-face communications always give you that extra something

Sure, you could send an email. But isn’t it nice to see someone’s face light up when you say hello? That’s backed up by science. One of the world’s foremost experts on human communication, Professor Albert Mehrabian’s famed “7-38-55 rule of personal communication” breaks human interactions down to a general ratio of 7% verbal, 38% tone of voice, and 55% body language. That means your facial expressions, gestures, and other movements can make up more than half of your message!

Facebook Portal keeps you in close contact with your colleagues

Perhaps you’re operating a small office, or you have a few major clients for your freelance gig. Sometimes a giant back-and-forth email thread isn’t the most efficient way to get things done. Whether you’re separated by a few streets—or more than a few time zones, you can stay in touch just like you would in a face-to-face meeting by using Facebook Portal. As long as they’ve got Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp, they can link up for video calls, and you’ll be working like never before.

Facebook Portal is also great for keeping in touch with family and friends

Lots of people love Facebook Portal because they can make live video calls to friends and family, display their photos, and more. With more families and friends in different places around the globe, it’s more important than ever to stay in touch. So pop online just to say hi to your best friend, or read stories to your nieces, nephews, or grandchildren. And when you’re not using the device, Facebook Portal has a feature so it can double as a picture frame to display all your favourite Facebook and Instagram photos. How great is that?

How to enter

Entering this contest is easy, but you can only enter once. First, read our reviews of Facebook Portal and Facebook Portal Mini, and our review of Facebook Portal TV. Then, in a comment on this article, tell us one feature you love about Facebook Portal and who you’ll be keeping in contact with the most.

What you can win

At the end of the contest, we’ll select one winner to receive a Portal bundle that includes one Facebook Portal, one Facebook Portal Mini, and one Facebook Portal TV. Keep one for yourself and send the others to the people you want or need to keep in contact with most.

This contest runs from March 31st to April 16th.

Remember, you can only enter once, but you probably know someone else who would love to see the smiling faces of their colleagues, family, and friends all the time. Let them know about this contest so they too have a chance to win—and make their day!

  3. I love my Sister time so, I love the Portal feature particularly at this moment of time! I lt is a good feeling to be connected.

  4. I love the ability to make video calls to your far-away family and friends via Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp. Will definitely use this to stay in touch with my family, friends and co-workers

  5. I love that setup is easy and I can connect with up to 7 people, that will be great for me and my brothers and sisters. doing video calls are so much better than landline phones

  6. I love that Facebook Portal allows me to display my family’s pictures! I’ll be keeping in contact with my aunt & uncle who live in Asia.

  7. Wow, this soulnds amazing! I love the Portal feature that allows you to have multiple people, up to 7, on your screen via facebook Messenger. I automatically thought of our team at work, with everyone working from home now, it’s impossible to have a group meeting, this would make it possible and these meetings really help keep us all on track, so they are important. In the off hours, it would be nice to video chat with my 3 sisters and not see mini versions on my phone, but rather larger than life on my tv. My fingers are crossed, I’d love to win this!

  8. the UI seems to be extremely easy to use. would be very easy for my parents to use (as they are 70 and 71 years old….so somewhat out of touch with modern day technology) – the video chat feature would be the most used in my opinion, especially during this covid-19 crisis. I would love to gift it to them (as I cannot for the life of me get them to understand texting or how to use skype)

  9. The one feature I love about Facebook Portal is you can contact almost anyone being in self-isolation also!
I’ll be contacting my family the most.
Thanks Best Buy Canada for the contest in our time of need!

  10. Compare to other smart devices (other than Lenovo), I like the privacy features that are either a switch or sliding trap door. This gives me comfort that the smart device is not spying on me when I have a cover/ slide trap door.

  11. I would give one to my Mom so she can keep in touch with her kids and grandkids. To keep connected and ease of use. I would love to win this.

  12. I love the extra encryption. I would use this with my children and grandchildren so I could spend time with them while at home as my health is not the best so has been hard for me to get out to visit them for the last year or so.

  13. I like the facebook portal because it can make video calls to friends and family to keep in touch

  14. I love that it has the Superframe feature for when not in use. Cool feature! We were planning to meet my daughter’s siblings for the first time ever, they are in the UK. This portal would hold us contently until a time when it would be safe to travel to see them.

  15. Will allow me to stay in contact with family and friends near and far. I really like the Smart Camera & Smart Sound adapt to my movements and take into account what’s going on around me so I don’t have to hear “where did you go I can”t see you” .

  16. the feature i like about the facebook portal is that i can make live video calls to friends and family to keep in touch especially in this time of self isolation!

  17. I’m living in a very rural area and only get to see my family once or twice a year. Yes this would be great to see everyone’s faces and keep in touch during self-isolation

  18. Being technologically impaired, I think the ease of use and Alexa built=in are the most appealing features for me. This product would give me the opportunity to stay more connected with my son, and probably even shock him that I was using this kind of tech.
