Arlo security cameras can help make any home more secure, whether you are home or away from home. The peace of mind you get while you are sleeping is nothing compared to the calm you feel while on holidays, still able to see your home with the app on your phone or tablet. They are a versatile and reliable way to be aware of everything happening near your home. This is especially true of the Arlo camera bundles, like the Essential bundle we are giving away in this contest. Learn more about how this bundle is essential for travellers, then enter for a chance to win one.
Why prowlers don’t like Arlo cameras
Last week, a neighbour posted on our community Facebook page that he had a prowler on his property the previous night. His dog was “yapping like crazy” he said and he saw the back of a dark figure running down his driveway. He had no idea who it was and could not give much of a description. I’m sure this particular prowler didn’t like that this property had a dog. However, they would have really hated if it had Arlo cameras capturing a crystal clear picture on video that could be instantly shared with neighbours and with the police.
The Arlo Essential camera bundle we are giving away gives better security than a dog for many reasons. A dog might bark, which might potentially scare off an intruder (but not always since brazen thieves might not care if a dog is inside the house). However, when the camera suddenly illuminates the area, the natural first thing to do is to look into the light. At that instant the thief knows they have been captured on video, and that video has already been sent to the cloud. There is nothing they can do at that point. Another reason that this bundle is better than a dog is because it comes with four cameras, for equally strong security coverage at multiple sites in or around your home. Lastly, this security is equally strong even if you and your dog are not home. While you are on holidays, your dog may be with a friend or family member. Your cameras, however, are placed at essential locations around your home: they’re wireless so you will move them around as you please inside and outside your home. You can access the footage, and share clear HD video of nasty prowlers, no matter where you are in the world.
Rethink what is essential for your next trip so you don’t forget anything
Forgetting is normal, it’s human—but it’s also frustrating! Preparation is the key to a vacation with everything essential taken care of. Will you be travelling somewhere this spring or summer? Check out our travel buying guide well before you leave to help you prepare. Our intention was to make it broad enough so that it could help as many people as possible. That article has five sections to help you focus on the many things you might want to consider before your next trip. You’ll noticed, that the last section is about home security: often this is the last thing people think about. Hopefully one lasting impact you get from entering this contest, whether you win the Arlo Essential camera bundle prize or not, is that you take care of home security well before your next trip.Â

Win an Arlo Essential smart home camera bundle Rules and Regulations
Good Luck!
I would like both the the dog and the Argo camera system. People forget about smart locks and security cameras give peace of mind when on vacation.
Security cameras and smart lights give travelers peace of mind so they can enjoy their vacations!!
well both would be nice, cover all the areas, both in camera and in barking sounds! i always say the more the merrier! In this way i am protected in both ways!
I’d rather have the Arlo camera. I don’t have to walk it in -30 C weather, or feed it or take it to the vet for shots. I’d love to have a dog but I won’t be able to meet his needs.
Unfortunately, I would not go with a dog because I would have to feed an extra mouth. As such, I would use the Arlo camera system instead, more economical.
I would like the Arlo camera system. Some people might forget a power bank as well as a water bottle.
Les deux. Les caméras pour voir ce qui se passe et un chien qui aboie dissuade l’entrée en premier lieu
Two essentials would be a good camera and a power bank to make sure I’m never left without a charge!
I’d rather have an Arlo camera system! I like the light feature to scare people away and the recording function for follow up and peace of mind.
I WOULD RATHER HAVE A CAMERA. AT OUR AGE WOULD COULD NOT AFFORD THE COST OF KEEPING A DOG OR THE ENERGY TO WALK IT DAILY AT OUR AGE WE COULD REALLY USE A CAMERA TO KEEP US SAFER FOR US AND OUR NEIGHBORS
People forget to lock their door and to bring power adapters to the country they are visiting.
I’d like both a guard dog (for the company and their instincts) and a home camera system!
people forget a power bank and neck pillow
I’d want both because I’m a dog person.
I would rather have a camera, not fair to leave a dog alone in the house
I’d like both the Arlo camera and a dog, you can’t pet an Arlo camera or play fetch with it! I think people forget the power adapter and the power bank.
A power bank and a water bottle could easily be forgotten.
Would love the camera to record any suspicious activity and the dog to wake me up and ward off any trespassers.
I think people forget to use an unlocked cell phone – roaming charges are crazy. And a bringing a travel power adapter is essential depending on where you are going.
I rather have security cameras – overall less expensive than a dog and no poop to pick up!
I’d rather have the dog!
I have the dog who barks like a maniac, but that doesn’t deter people from damaging stuff outside. If they see a camera pointed at them, they will likely think twice about it.
A travel power adapter and a water bottle are both essential items for a trip and are often forgotten
I would rather have the Arlo camera system to track prowlers.
People going on vacation often forget to check their home security before they go amd make sure they have a power adapter for the country they are going to.
I have 2 dogs and they would probably roll over for a tummy rub from the intruder…..I’d feel safer with an Arlo Essential camera bundle!
I already have the dogs so the cameras would be great!! The dogs deter and the cameras record
Travel power adapter and a battery charging bank
Both. The cameras to see what is occurring and a barking dog deters entry in the first place
A travel power adapter and a good backpack would be essential for me!
I would like both. A dog will alert me and Ill be able to see what the dog is barking at with the camera!
An unlocked cell-phone, and a water bottle, may be things people tend to forget.
I’d rather have the cameras. The dog won’t be able to show me what happened.
Most people forget about security features (like smart locks and security cameras) when going on vacation! You should be carefree on vacation, and so it’s even more crucial not to leave your home vulnerable while you’re away.
I’d rather have both! I’d rather have a sappy dog that’s useless as a guard dog, and and Arlo Camera system for actual security and peace of mind.
Travel power adapter and power bank could easily be forgotten but are quite handy on a trip.
I prefer the Arlo Camera system. I like dogs but I rather take it for a walk then have it guard my house.
I would prefer the Arlo camera system because it would be good for recording any suspicious activity.
I’d rather have both. I\ve always had dogs and currently have 2, mostly for cuddling lol. Since dogs cant talk, it would be nice to have the camera to review footage.
Arlo camera system, to record footage.
I would rather have an Arlo camera system because dogs are too much of a responsibility. and we already have cats
I think people forget power banks when going on a trip. People also forget to set up automatic lights for their home
When traveling, we usually forget to bring our power banks and travel adapters.
I would want cameras and a guard dog. The barking scares off potential intruders and the cameras do as well
I would rather have arlo. Dogs are nice, but they required extra work and responsibilities. And since I don’t have extra time, it just doesn’t make sense to own a dog.
I think most people tend to forget a travel power adapter and power bank before going on a trip.
I would want the arlo camera because if I go on a 3 week trip I can’t leave a dog alone that long.
I would rather have both, The camera might help identify an intruder but it might not and I believe a dog would be a better deterrent for preventing an intruder actually entering the premises.
Both a guard dog and an arlo camera system – extra protection is always a good idea!
Camera for security
When traveling people tend to forget their power banks and travel adapters.
