Unless you’ve been living under a technological rock, or without cable, or the radio, or are my parents, you’ve likely heard of Beats by Dr. Dre headphones. First launched in 2008, Beats by Dr. Dre Studio headphones have become a staple in the headphone marketplace. However, they have come a long way since their launch, and now, new to Best Buy, the Beats Studio 3 Over-Ear Sound Isolating Bluetooth Headphones offer audiophiles a plethora of features that make listening to their favourite tunes even more immersive than before. Here’s what’s new.
Say hello to Bluetooth
The new Beats Studio 3 headphones now come equipped with integrated Class 1 Bluetooth® technology. That means that your favourite audio–whether that is an e-book, a new album, or the radio–can be streamed directly from your smartphone, tablet, or computer with extended range and fewer drop-outs than ever.
Advanced noise cancellation
With its Pure Adaptive Noise Canceling (Pure ANC), the new Beats Solo 3 headphones deliver a premium listening experience. By continuously pinpointing and blocking external sounds, automatically responding to individual fit and music playback, and constantly optimizing sound output to preserve clarity and range, they work hard to let you hear the music you like, not the noise.
Beats by Dr. Dre are sealed for sound
Beats by Dr. Dre’s soft over-ear cups have long been known for their high levels of comfort; however, the new Studio 3 ear cups also feature advanced venting and signature ergonomic pivoting for a custom, flexible fit that works with Pure ANC to keep the music in and the noise out.
Extended Battery Life
The new Beats Studio 3 headphones’ rechargeable battery gives you up to 22 hours of full-featured all-day wireless playback. Even better, when you turn Pure ANC off, that 22 hours skyrockets to 40 hours, making these headphones ideal for people like me who tend to forget to charge their electronic devices, enjoy epic marathons of my favourite TV shows, and like to travel to remote destinations that take eons to get to. Or, for anyone else, really!
Add to that the fact that you can use the Fast Fuel option to get three hours of play from a 10-minute charge when the battery is low, and being faced with a pair of dead Studio 3s will be a rarity.
Attention to detail
While the advanced noise cancelling, Bluetooth and ridiculously long battery life are all clear winners in my opinion, I also love the attention to detail Beats put into the Studio 3s functionality. First, their multi-functional on-ear controls allow you to play music, adjust volume, take calls, and activate Siri so you can annoy her with random questions about when you might find the man/woman of your dreams.
Secondly, if you’ve seen a pair of Beats, or any over-ear headphones for that matter, you know that they aren’t something you can ball up and toss in your pocket or purse. Thankfully though, the Beats Studio 3 headphones’ folding design and carrying case make them ultra-portable and easy to store. That case also helps to protect them from damage when you’re tossing them in a backpack after a lengthy commute to the office.
The Beats Studio 3 over-ear headphones really do check a lot of boxes, making them great for everyone from the urban commuter to the gym rat and everyone in between. Plus they come in a variety of colours, including (my favourite) Rose Gold, Gloss White, Gloss Black, Silver, Gold, and Black, so there is an option for all aesthetics.
