Samsung’s two latest tablets, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and S10+, mark the renewal of the company’s high-end range. These versions feature the latest technologies in artificial intelligence. The focus is on the use of Galaxy AI, a more connected experience than ever, an effective display, and so much more. I had the opportunity to try both for a few days. Here are my thoughts.

The large Dynamic AMOLED 2X display

Whether it’s on the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra or the S10+, users are treated to a display of very high quality. Available in the same sizes as their predecessors (12.4 inches for the S10+, 14.6 for the Ultra), these new models use a Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen. The Galaxy Tab S10+ offers a resolution of 1752 x 2800 pixels (266 ppi) with a dynamic refresh rate ranging from 60 to 120 Hz, while the Ultra boasts a 1848 x 2960 resolution (239 ppi) and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.

Among the most impressive features of this new display are the exceptional image clarity and a noticeable reduction in reflections compared to previous models. Additionally, the screen occupies nearly 85% of the front panel, providing an immersive look thanks to relatively thin bezels.

Using AI on the Galaxy Tab S10 tablets

Increasingly, smart devices are using various artificial intelligence functions, the goal being to facilitate user tasks by offering solutions to assist them. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and S10+ tablets are the first to integrate Galaxy AI right from the start. This feature provides several tools to simplify certain tasks.

This includes Note Assist. As the name suggests, it’s a note-taking aid, but there’s more to it. This function allows you to automatically align and space your handwritten notes made with the S Pen. It also organizes notes for a more structured layout. You can even generate covers with summaries based on the content of your own notes.

The Recording Assist feature transcribes spoken words into text files, translates the transcription in real-time, or even generates conversation summaries.

The AI-enabled S Pen

The S Pen included with Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and S10+ tablets is also compatible with artificial intelligence. The capabilities of Galaxy AI enhance your creativity. The most impressive feature is Sketch to Image, which allows you to draw with the pen, and the artificial intelligence then transforms your drawing into an image. You can also trace almost any image to then use it in your preferred drawing software.

The Circle to Search feature is also much more pleasant with the S Pen. As its name suggests, you can quickly launch a search by circling an element from an image, text, etc. Finally, if you purchase the Book Cover keyboard, there is now a dedicated key for Galaxy AI tools.

A connected experience with Galaxy devices

If you own a Samsung smartphone or computer, you can achieve a connected experience with your Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra or S10+. This means you can answer calls (thanks to the integrated microphone and speaker) or respond to texts directly from your new device. Everything is automatically synchronized. This feature is also very handy if you want to use the tablet as a second screen. You can also benefit from the Quick Share option, which makes it faster and easier to share photos, videos, and documents among all your compatible devices.

These new models also offer Multi Control integration. This allows you to use a mouse and keyboard to control multiple Samsung devices simultaneously. This means you can copy and paste text and drag and drop images from one device to another seamlessly.

Battery life of the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and S10+

Regarding battery life, both the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and S10+ offer many hours of uninterrupted use. The Ultra is equipped with an 11,200 mAh battery that can last around 16 hours before needing a recharge, whereas the S10+ features a 10,090 mAh battery that provides about 14 hours of battery life. This is made possible thanks to software optimizations as well as the use of a new chip. The MediaTek 9300 chip is a major asset for users seeking performance, significantly enhancing the capabilities of this range.

Other features

Among the other features of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and S10+ tablets, you’ll find a 13 MP rear camera and a 12 MP front camera, allowing you to take quality photos and videos. The devices are also compatible with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3 technologies. These new versions also come with expandable storage of up to 1024 GB via a microSD card. Not to mention the addition of a USB-C port for improved compatibility with the accessories offered by the company. It is worth noting that all accessories from the previous Galaxy Tab series are interchangeable and backward compatible.
