NVIDIA RTX 50 Series graphics cards
Before unveiling the latest series of graphics cards, Huang reflected on NVIDIA’s decades-long legacy of innovation in the graphics card industry. Alongside it, he highlighted the remarkable advancements in AI technologies, such as DLSS, which have significantly enhanced the capabilities of consumer hardware.
Huang emphasized that early AI models were developed and made possible through the power of GeForce cards. With the next leap in hardware performance, AI has played a pivotal role, as Huang reflected, “GeForce enabled AI to reach the masses, and now AI is coming home to GeForce.” He then unveiled NVIDIA’s next-generation GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, powered by the new “Blackwell” architecture.
Real-time demonstration of NVIDIA RTX 50 series capabilities
After getting a look at the hardware, we were treated to footage of what some of the next-generation graphical effects will look like on the cutting-edge silicon. A demo showed women moving through an elaborate palace setting with ornate designs and lifelike objects. The lighting, textures, and fabrics looked stunning throughout.
These ultra-detailed assets are made possible with DLSS 4, which can compute 2 million pixels and infer the rest to get to 33 million pixels, with three frames generated by AI for everyone calculated. DLSS 4 and RTX Neural Shaders enhance realism, elevate performance in real-time applications, and run smoother and more efficiently than ever.
RTX 50 Series models
The flagship GeForce RTX 5090 GPU announced at CES 2025 is NVIDIA’s most powerful consumer GPU yet. It features 92 billion transistors and over 3,352 trillion AI operations per second (TOPS). It outperforms its predecessor, the RTX 4090, by up to 2x, thanks to the Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4 technology. Let’s look at all of the models shown so far:
- RTX 5090: Featuring 32GB of GDDR7 memory and 21,760 CUDA cores, offering double the performance of the RTX 4090. It will be available on Jan 30th.
- RTX 5080: Designed to deliver twice the speed of the RTX 4080. Memory: 16 GB GDDR7, Memory Bandwidth: 960 GB/s, Ray Tracing Cores: 4th Generation. The performance of the RTX 5080 delivers twice the speed of the RTX 4080. It will be available on Jan 30th.
- RTX 5070 Ti: Memory: 16 GB GDDR7, Memory Bandwidth: 896 GB/s, Ray Tracing Cores: 4th Generation, Tensor Cores: 5th Generation, DLSS: Version 4. It will be available in February.
- RTX 5070: Providing performance comparable to the previous generation’s RTX 4090. It will be available in February.

That is very disappointing! Can you do better then that?
Yo, the RTX 50 Series already?! NVIDIA’s out here flexing again! If these cards are as powerful as they’re hyped to be, my wallet’s gonna cry, but my gaming rig will thank me.
Can we buy the card online in Quebec and pick-it-up in a chosen BestBuy in Ontario?
Are there anything being done to deter bots/scalpers? I see it is one per household but no govt issued photo ID checks/ensuring it is different people?
Stocks are really low and it would be nice to really ensure real customers are able to grab one.
Any update on availability in Quebec?
What time is the 50 series card will be available on Jan 30th ? Are they going to be available in store as well by any chance ?
What’s the “Promotion” going on in the reviews? Who is selling this less than the given price for a review? I’ll buy that one at that price right now.
What time will they be available on the 30th?
how much will the 5070 be in CAD
Hi! Any updates?
Is there any update with the launch of these cards. The website show no signs of these cards being available. Also will these cards be available only online or will there be in person options?

Thank you
Is there any info on when exactly these will be purchasable?
“Best Buy Canada will be the exclusive Canadian retailer for the Founders Edition of the RTX 50 series.”
That means you will have to ship to Quebec since it’s the only place in Quebec where we can get the card. Can you confirm?
Hi Vanessa,
Will this be available at all Best Buy locations in Canada.
Will the cards be stocked in-store and will in-store stock be reserved for in-store purchases or be available online as well?
I’m just wondering if it’s worth going to stand in line on launch day. No matter how hard you guys try to prevent it, online sales are going to be bought up by scalpers/bots, so the only viable way for the average consumer to get one on launch day will be to go into the store. So hoping that is taken into consideration.
What time of day does the website get updated for 50 series to go live? it would be helpful to know in order to try and get in before the bots buy it all up!
Will anything be done to fight against scalpers and bots? What happens if scalpers just end up buying all the stock before real users?
Where will you post and update another blog post? Consider selling all cards at retail at least for the first weeks to minimize scalping online.
Hi Vlad, thanks for your comment. We’re always working on new content, so be sure to check back for future updates! Regarding retail sales, that’s a good idea! But for now, we don’t have any specifics to share yet. Stay tuned!
