There are few monitors more profound, versatile, and perfectly designed for gaming than the Samsung Odyssey Ark gaming monitor. This monitor puts you in the game. With stunning colours and clarity, a response time you expect in a gaming monitor (165Hz refresh, 1ms response time) the consequences of your thoughts are immediate—like you are in the game. During gaming month Best Buy will have many gaming contests, and this one is for anyone who wants their gaming bigger and better than ever. The prize is the same monitor that we sent to Marcus (pictured above) for an honest review. I saved that sample at the office when it returned from Marcus so that I could give it away during gaming month. Read his review to learn about this monitor and enter this contest to win it!

Are you really in the game

Like most things in life that are real, gaming ability and gaming interest falls on a normal distribution (aka, a bell curve). Some of us are “Little Game” and some of us are “Big Game.” I fall on the far left at about a “3” on the scale since I don’t play games very much. But I work with talented writers on the Best Buy blog, like Jon Scarr and Matthew Rondina who are at “8” or “9” on the scale (reserving a “10” for professional eSport players).

Introspect for a minute. What kind of gamer are you? When hostile aliens come to visit Earth, will you be on the “A” list of people the army calls for the big “drone battle in the sky” or will you be someone, like me, they ask to do more farming to feed the troops? Hey I could use a big monitor like the Samsung Odyssey Ark to plan my crops!

Who in your life is the biggest gamer you know

Okay so I have established that I am not “Good Game” and certainly not “Big Game.” You likely have a good idea where you land on this scale, but how about the people in your life. Are they more game or less game than you? In other words, would they be more likely or less likely to get the most benefit from having this amazing monitor prize in their home. For some people this might be a sensitive topic: food fights have started with less incentive. I’m not trying to raise hackles, or move anyone to cast judgement. If a consensus is not immediately forthcoming, then this is likely the kind of question best settled with … a game! Perhaps you’ll get to play it using this monitor.

I understand, however, that many people might think this monitor is too big for their home. That’s okay. Samsung has a huge selection of gaming monitors, smart monitors, curved monitors, efficient productivity monitors, and more. In fact, many of them are on sale this month so you’ll likely find exactly the monitor you need for gaming, for school, for work ….

How to enter

Entering this contest is easy and you can enter in two different ways

  1. In a comment below: tell us the name of someone in your life (first name only) who is very close to the same level of gamer as you AND if you were going to compete to see who is actually better, what game would you want to play and why. AND
  2. Email your dream Samsung monitor: Visit this Samsung monitor page at Best Buy and take a screen shot of the monitor (or just include the name and model number) that you think is the perfect size and style for your needs. What you can win

At the end of the contest, we will randomly select one (1) winner from all eligible entries. This winner will receive the Samsung Odyssey Ark 55″ 4K Ultra HD 165Hz 1ms GTG VA LCD FreeSync Gaming monitor that had been reviewed on the blog.

This contest runs from May 31st to June 15th.

  1. My friend Kevin always talks about Ultrawide monitors and its gaming capabilities. While we have our different strengths, for me to win on experience, I would play a shooter like Halo Infinite to show the difference between who shoots in the head vs those who shoot at the chest.

  2. Hubby (Dave) and I are at the same gaming level. We would complete at old school Super Mario because it is my favourite game of all time.

  3. My nephew thinks he is the best at NHL 2023 but little does he (Ryan) know that his Auntie has been practising and we will battle it out, making so much noise the family will move outside! We are both pretty active hockey fans and like to build the perfect team to crush our opponents.

  4. my husband, Mark, and we would play Fifa 23 because we love soccer and I am pretty sure I would beat him hands down.

  5. I would play with my granddaughter who is four months old because I suck at games and I think I could beat her at Mario kart.

  6. My wife, Robin and I would have to say Mario Kart. I have so many great memories of playing the original Mario Kart and its one of those games where its simply fun for everybody.

  7. My buddy Brad is a weekend warrior like myself. I would play him in the new Street Fighter 6 as none of us had ever played it so it would be perfectly fair on both sides.

  8. My friend Andrew is probably better than me! And we would play Mario Kart to see who’s better because we both love this game!

  9. I would play my brother Zvi.
We would play Call of Duty cause its our favourite game to play
and I would beat him for sure

Bob is at my level. I would play Doom Quake. Because it is a classic shooting game.

  11. Emma is close to my level and I would challenge her to The Legend of Zelda (as we both know the game) to see who will win. It will probably be a toss up as to the winner.

  12. I would play minecraft with my grand son Brian because we both love the game and love to build and it gives us a chance to be creative and he would beat me because he is quicker with his controls and far more creative than me

  13. My spouse MK loves to play Puya Pop and we have had some really intense games which have led to us not talking for a couple of days afterwards. This monitor would look so incredible that I might be able to coax her into playing something else for a change…

  14. My son Connor, he beats me in most of the games we play, but I still beat him in any NHL games. For now….

  15. I have a friend who is really close to my gaming level, and his gamer name is H20. He is really close to my level and possibly even as good as me. If I were to 1v1 him, I would choose fortnite. The reason is, because I have good mechanics and good editing speed, so I could easily clip him, and with this monitor, I could probably be the best gamer of myself.

  16. Jen is a similar level to me and I think I can beat her at Minecraft. We play as a family but while she is competitive I think with a new monitor I could wipe the floor with her. Only joking. I will be lucky to win by a bit.

  17. My Grand Daughters Playing Mario Brothers. Who says U Can’t teach an old dog new Tricks. gramma is Learning Slow But Surely.

  18. it would be Lina and we would play Microsoft Flight Simulator because we love planes and flying and we are both good at it

  19. My grand son, Ethan. We both play minecraft and we wouldn’t compete with each other rather then work together to build magnificent things because its not about tearing the other person down but building them up to be better

  20. My son Terrell is beyond my gaming equal. He is amazing. We love to play Mario Kart together because of the competition involved.

  21. my son, Liel and we would play Just Dance cause I know I can easily beat him but it will be fun but he has surprised me in the past

  22. Kali is ALMOST the same level as I am. I would like to play Rocket League because i think I would have a better chance to win than she would.

  23. I would play Path of Exile with Robert as we are both at the same level of play and are extremely competitive when it comes to gaming and would be a great challenge.

  24. Dylan is the same level of gamer as me. If we competed, he’d probably beat me in Halo because he has more hours logged in that game.

  25. Rick and we would compete in Call of Duty: Warzone. It’s been our go to standard recently resulting in a lot of ribbing and fun trash talking

  26. My fiancĂ©e Brandon, we would play Mario Kart because that’s the one game I can beat him in!

  27. My Friend Eddie like to play battle game and he is very good at it. So Street fighter would be the game to play with him

  29. my son, Liel and we would play F1 23 cause we are both huge racing fans and I think I might beat him thanks to my experience but his reactions are way faster then mine these days

  30. My husband Mike and kids are both way better than me, so I’m not sure who’s my equal! I’d still like to compete with them on an easy game where I have a chance, like Wii Sports.
