There are few monitors more profound, versatile, and perfectly designed for gaming than the Samsung Odyssey Ark gaming monitor. This monitor puts you in the game. With stunning colours and clarity, a response time you expect in a gaming monitor (165Hz refresh, 1ms response time) the consequences of your thoughts are immediate—like you are in the game. During gaming month Best Buy will have many gaming contests, and this one is for anyone who wants their gaming bigger and better than ever. The prize is the same monitor that we sent to Marcus (pictured above) for an honest review. I saved that sample at the office when it returned from Marcus so that I could give it away during gaming month. Read his review to learn about this monitor and enter this contest to win it!

Are you really in the game

Like most things in life that are real, gaming ability and gaming interest falls on a normal distribution (aka, a bell curve). Some of us are “Little Game” and some of us are “Big Game.” I fall on the far left at about a “3” on the scale since I don’t play games very much. But I work with talented writers on the Best Buy blog, like Jon Scarr and Matthew Rondina who are at “8” or “9” on the scale (reserving a “10” for professional eSport players).

Introspect for a minute. What kind of gamer are you? When hostile aliens come to visit Earth, will you be on the “A” list of people the army calls for the big “drone battle in the sky” or will you be someone, like me, they ask to do more farming to feed the troops? Hey I could use a big monitor like the Samsung Odyssey Ark to plan my crops!

Who in your life is the biggest gamer you know

Okay so I have established that I am not “Good Game” and certainly not “Big Game.” You likely have a good idea where you land on this scale, but how about the people in your life. Are they more game or less game than you? In other words, would they be more likely or less likely to get the most benefit from having this amazing monitor prize in their home. For some people this might be a sensitive topic: food fights have started with less incentive. I’m not trying to raise hackles, or move anyone to cast judgement. If a consensus is not immediately forthcoming, then this is likely the kind of question best settled with … a game! Perhaps you’ll get to play it using this monitor.

I understand, however, that many people might think this monitor is too big for their home. That’s okay. Samsung has a huge selection of gaming monitors, smart monitors, curved monitors, efficient productivity monitors, and more. In fact, many of them are on sale this month so you’ll likely find exactly the monitor you need for gaming, for school, for work ….

How to enter

Entering this contest is easy and you can enter in two different ways

  1. In a comment below: tell us the name of someone in your life (first name only) who is very close to the same level of gamer as you AND if you were going to compete to see who is actually better, what game would you want to play and why. AND
  2. What you can win

At the end of the contest, we will randomly select one (1) winner from all eligible entries. This winner will receive the Samsung Odyssey Ark 55″ 4K Ultra HD 165Hz 1ms GTG VA LCD FreeSync Gaming monitor that had been reviewed on the blog.

This contest runs from May 31st to June 15th.

  1. Dan is about the same level as me and we are at a level one (or lower) on your bell curve, lol – we would probably do best to face off in a game of Words With Friends as that best illustrates our level of gaming interest/skills! That said this monitor looks amazing and I would love to win it!

  2. Ted is quickly becoming close to the same level of gamer as me. We would play NHL 23 to see who really is better.

  3. I’d challenge my friend Dat. We’d play some FIFA to settle the score, this monitor will definitely help me whoop him!

  4. My friend Michael is a gaming addict like me. We’d probably play League of Legends and he’d destroy me every time.

  5. Kolby is ALMOST the same level as I am. I would like to play Rocket League because i think I would have a better chance to win than he would.

  6. Scott – My eldest brother; we used to play together all the time. If we were to compete it would be in a game like Genshin Impact. Simply because it is a game we both have interest in and have the specs to play.

  7. My kids; we would love to play games such as Mario Kart; lots of fun for the whole family

  8. Steve my friend since 1994. We met in grade 7 and we were both big gamers and both big wrestling fans. We competed neck and at WWF Royal Rumble, WWF Raw, WWF Wrestlemania the Arcade game, Mortal Kombat 1-3, Killer Instinct etc. But out of all the games I would want to actually really find out who the best was is WCW/NWO Revenge. We played against each other back and forth getting the best of eachother for years but didn’t ever clear up who the very best was.

  9. Karissa. I’d love to play Mario kart because it is a classic and is reminiscent of our childhoods.

    • My spouse! We love to play games together…especially Mario Kart.. it’s a classic and never gets old!

  10. I would play Diablo IV with Trevor because….it’s the early access weekend, time to beat him before it’s released to the public!!
