January is a great month to reassess the tech in your home. Technology makes life better. What tech are you looking for? My wife says we have too much tech in our home, but I don’t agree. I believe we have barely scratched the surface of the tech our home should have. Tech is personal. What new tech are you craving

Our blog is a great place to start looking for the latest technology. This month we learn about many of the new products that will be coming to stores over the next year via the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2018). On the Best Buy blog we have written articles about many of the new things that were announced that we think may arrive in stores this year. There will be new televisions, new smart home cameras, new computers, and much more.

If you are a gamer, you will find review articles on the blog about the latest video games, and descriptive articles about specific components you might need to build a gaming PC. Also you will find many articles about monitors, including the recent one we did about how to set up a 3 monitor gaming display.

3 monitor are better than one, as Steven Hill points out in his article. Even better when the monitors are as amazing as these from ASUS. They have a thin bezel, so your view is almost uninterrupted. They are also curved for a great wraparound experience. I love the scene in the video review (shown in his review article) where he is gaming on that huge display surface. I clipped out an image, but go to the article to see the full review.

So now you are probably thinking, “this would be perfect for my home!”, and you are wondering how to enter. It’s easy … here are the details.

As I said, it’s easy to enter. But you can only enter once. First look around your home and assess your 2018 tech needs. Next, in a comment at the bottom of this article, tell us what new tech your home needs in 2018. Perhaps it’s a new TV or maybe a Google Home for voice activation convenience. Be as specific as you want.

  13. You mean I can only list one thing? That’s gonna be hard – this place is pretty old tech-wise. I guess to start would have to a smart tv. or maybe i can say a full ‘entertainment unit’? (tv, blu-ray, stereo, etc.!)

  14. I Iook around the house and did not realize How old everything is. My computer was a gift but only lasted 1 1/2 years, hardley did anything on it, it should have been recalled. I would like to win for my son to give him a break from school work!

  20. A strong camera or iPad for our sons, they love to flex their acting talents by creating home movies and they’ve been using my phone to make them, it’s only a matter of time before my phone gets broken. Eek!

  27. I definitely need a new laptop at some point, as my current one has trouble recognizing the hard drive if it gets bumped at all – and a laptop that can’t be moved kind of defeats the purpose! Our home also needs a big screen so that the family can share photos of their individual adventures. And maybe it’s time to ditch my BlackBerry? lol

  29. I would like to have a 55 inch 4k tv for the livingroom. We have 6 year old 42 inch tv, 13 more inches would look great on the mantle.

  33. I have a spot on my wall reserved for a big screen television. Somewhere forty inches and up would work so I can watch my movies in HD instead of the teeny screen I am watching. A nice matching sound system would be nice too.

  37. I need a new computer, and I’m ordering all of the parts to build it myself (I’m getting it for productivity and gaming). This triple monitor display would be perfect for my build!

  39. My tech needs are a new home PC. Would love to not have to move my laptop around with me everywhere. I mean I know thats what laptops are great for but would nice to be able to go to an already set up PC. And this monitor would be great for it.

  43. Updating my system, to something made in the last few years, is certainly a goal for 2018. Right now, due to lack of funds, I am limping along a quad core pentium from 2009. It’s currently on it’s third motherboard, an ASUS. The most recent replacement was an ASUS optical drive, for an overworked Samsung.

  44. Let’s see… What could I use in the way of tech in my home.

    I have a 19″ LCD T.V. that’s 7 years old, a 10+ year old HP Desktop (that I am on the online page with), a Samsung Rugby Smart Phone that’s at least 6 years old and has a badly cracked screen (It sometimes tries to push it’s own buttons!). And those are my better pieces! lol

  49. We got our Flat screen TV when they first came out. Now it is so out of date we cannot join the crowd in all the new ways to watch TV.

  50. I definitely need a new TV! And a laptop, probably. A gaming monitor is what I really need this year though – for my son.
