January is a great month to reassess the tech in your home. Technology makes life better. What tech are you looking for? My wife says we have too much tech in our home, but I don’t agree. I believe we have barely scratched the surface of the tech our home should have. Tech is personal. What new tech are you craving

Our blog is a great place to start looking for the latest technology. This month we learn about many of the new products that will be coming to stores over the next year via the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2018). On the Best Buy blog we have written articles about many of the new things that were announced that we think may arrive in stores this year. There will be new televisions, new smart home cameras, new computers, and much more.

If you are a gamer, you will find review articles on the blog about the latest video games, and descriptive articles about specific components you might need to build a gaming PC. Also you will find many articles about monitors, including the recent one we did about how to set up a 3 monitor gaming display.

3 monitor are better than one, as Steven Hill points out in his article. Even better when the monitors are as amazing as these from ASUS. They have a thin bezel, so your view is almost uninterrupted. They are also curved for a great wraparound experience. I love the scene in the video review (shown in his review article) where he is gaming on that huge display surface. I clipped out an image, but go to the article to see the full review.

So now you are probably thinking, “this would be perfect for my home!”, and you are wondering how to enter. It’s easy … here are the details.

HOW TO ENTER

As I said, it’s easy to enter. But you can only enter once. First look around your home and assess your 2018 tech needs. Next, in a comment at the bottom of this article, tell us what new tech your home needs in 2018. Perhaps it’s a new TV or maybe a Google Home for voice activation convenience. Be as specific as you want.

  5. For me personally…..I would love to be able to afford a more powerful laptop for everyday use, and yup..even some amazing gaming, too. As for these awesome monitors, I would love to win those for my Dad’s home setup for sure. He’s using a couple older ones right now that just aren’t too reliable …and are different sizes and brands I think, too.

  6. Moving more to the Nest system and adding a doorbell camera that is compatible with Google Home systems, adding more camera’s to our system, and changing out our regular fire alarms to Google compatible products.

  18. I don’t have much; big tech dreams, but a little tech budget – old RCA TV and an old Moto phone. I dream of owning a HP ENVY Curved All-in-One – 34-b025xt (which I see people winning on Price Is Right – and would really help with my studies) or a Roku Ultra (so I can cut the cord on my cable bill). 🙂

  40. I was about to buy a console probably a playstation 4 an xbox one s or a nintendo switch or better yet all of them but i also need to get a monitor for them so i have put the plan off for a bit, also need a sound system wireless printer and a graphics tablet

I am always talking to my phone doing the “OK Google” thing, and that would mean I could do it without my phone. Hey. It’s the little things. 😉 I would also like a couple of really nice knives.   46. Our pc is about 6 years old ,so a upgrade would be great. A gaming system would be great and the boys would love a switch.

What new tech our family home needs in 2018 is a Samsung 75″ 4K UHD HDR LED Tizen Smart TV which leads to a Xbox One X 1TB Scorpio Limited Edition which leads to a Onkyo HT-S3900 5.1 Channel 3D Home Theatre System and the Grand Finale the Octane Charger XS300 4-Seat Bonded Leather Recliner Home Theatre Seating in Black . I guess that’s it for now, you know just the little stuff.

  48. I could really use the 3 montors as I am a work at home developer and need a serious upgrade in that department. Failing that, upgrading our main tv to 4K would be awesome as well.

    A surround sound system for the TV, a second computer monitor, a bose or equally awesome speaker/stereo. A new cell!
