One of the most personal technologies has to be the ereader, like those offered by Kobo. I realize that some of them can surf the web and view multimedia, but for me, they are made for reading books. They are perfectly designed for that one simple task. They are lightweight, with a display that is easy on the eyes in daylight, or at night, and they easily fit in one hand. Why do I love Kobo eReaders so much

Let me tell you a little story, a true story. Once upon a time I had a Kobo ereader, a gift from my children, and I used it all the time. I read a huge assortment of novels on my cherished Kobo: mysteries, historical fiction, classics, trashy pop fiction, non-fiction and more. My brain was filled with great characters and great stories. I took my Kobo everywhere: on cruises in the Caribbean, on flights to Europe, and even back and forth in my car daily so that at any moment I could take a few minutes’ break, just me and my Kobo.

Then tragedy struck: one evening while rushing to take groceries into the house to make dinner, I forgot my Kobo in the car. Wouldn’t you know it, a thief broke into my car and stole it. I was shattered! End of story. However, I still feel the loss. You never know how much you love something until it’s gone.

  3. I have the original Kobo. I love it. I have roughly 500 books on it. Sadly, it’s starting to break down.

  13. I can see the Kobo being an amazing device the catch up on your preside books without lugging around physical copies. That makes it great for traveling, trips to the bank or sit down restaurants, any where you have some time to kill.

  14. I love that you aren’t having to go out and browse through a bookstore, then decide what to do with the book after you’ve read it. Also, helps to save trees, and if you borrow from library, you’re saving yourself money. And the biggest reason I love them is that you can adjust the brightness of the page, and the size of the text.

  29. Both my parents have Kobo’s, and I love how lightweight they are and can literally go with you everywhere. I WAS an avid reader, but eventually you just get tired of lugging the books around with you everywhere. I downloaded an app to my tablet, but it just isn’t the same as a Kobo!!

We usually vacation in hot sunny locations and i can use my kobo either poolside or on the beach without worrying about screen glare, unlike my husband with his iPad:)

  48. I love the battery life, the fact I can have so many books at my fingertips, the backlight so I can read in bed and not have to worry about keeping my overhead light on.
